Good food talk. I’m 220 pounds and have always been a “big guy” and not in the good way but I only eat 1 meal a day. Probably floating around 1500 calories eating lean meat and usually rice or potatoes. I want to bulk up and I know I need to eat 3 full meals a day but man I feel like I physically can’t otherwise I’m gonna get sick from being so full all the time

I really like how Jay didn't feed his ego at all and was like "it's alright". I have a feeling Jay was a bit more impressed but knows how to really light that fire. That's a killer coaching approach, well spoken.

This cut is obviously the leanest you have ever been, so you can really see your strongest and weakest points. Bring this far into the cut, what do you think you will focus on the most during the next bulk?

I started tracking and haven't missed a day since jan 2nd... Also hitting the gym 5-6 times/week and down 11 pounds as of today 1 month in. Also started taking creatine and had a halt in weight for about a week but moving again...Thanks for the needed kind words at the end that were in no way directed at me! Needed the inspiration

I need help understanding, i've seen over the past few weeks that a lot of people say that doing reps of 6-8 is for hypertrophy and 10-12 is for strength, i'm afraid of missing something knowing that i grew up telling myself that 10-12 was for hypertrophy
@SamuelKGunther3 сағат бұрын
Hypertrophy shouldn’t be defined by the amount of reps you do. But for muscle building, there are two schools of thought that are pretty widely accepted. If you want to build muscle you can either do like 6-8 reps of a higher weight, more emphasis on the eccentric then the squeeze at the top. In this yep range you might cheat on the concentric and focus on controlling the eccentric. If you train within the 10-12 rep range, people tend to use a lighter weight and go very slow and controlled with both concentric and eccentric. Both style will yield probably the exact same amount of muscle, it’s just up to preference. As you build muscle over time you will build strength too. But if you want to become stronger in squat, bench, or deadlift, like in a powerlifter standpoint, there is a different style of training. I’ll add another comment for that
@SamuelKGunther3 сағат бұрын
For gaining strength it is different. Like I said you will gain strength if you train for hypertrophy, but you can increase your strength in specific movements by doing heavy single reps of a movement and waiting between each set. Like for me personally, if I wanted to train to get a stronger bench, before doing my hypertrophy style training, I would warm up, and then do a heavy bench press of like 250lbs, wait like 5 mins, and then do it again. You are basically pushing your nerves and muscle fibers to their limit on one rep

Again that's Sulek's best double back bicep camera shot. Could still be better. The looking to the side rotates the spine, etc. and throws the shot off, Sulek needs to hold turn the head back straight forward after checking. But really the lats take up most of the back really, minus the erectors of the spine. You can see the sheet of lat muscles on Sulek's back below the teres major, etc. for example. This muscle needs better recruitment and development with barbell rows, chest-supported t-bar rows. Obvious Sulek is hitting the lats some in row like movements, but you can do the movement without properly recruiting those major lat muscles. It will be awhile before Sulek has real pro sized arms, especially triceps but they are coming in. Sulek should do a show in the next two months and learn so much more. With a bulk focusing on legs on the legsled Sulek could go pro before long. Try to be like Fitzwater have no weakness, be balanced.

Hey Sam, hope all is going well this Sunday night in February. Been watching your videos since the very first bulk series. Early in September I had a labrum tear in my shoulder that was degenerative. Now it is February, still not 100% (prob never will be atleast for a awhile). Completed grueling hours of PT and been still consistent in the gym for the most part. Have to avoid some exercises as I can really only do 1 exercise for chest and 1 for front delts. Just would want to know how I can keep pushing with motivation and over coming this adversity as I have had some really low points in the last few months. Thanks Sam you are the best

The wide lens shot in the car is nice but feel it’s a bit distracting because it’s showing too much movement through the front windshield. Maybe a slight zoom in will be better. Love you Sam
