I feel the argument from reason argues against itself. Reason is a conscious effort to make sense of the randomness but there is no inherent reason.

I remember watching the second movie in theaters. During the space whale hunting scene people around me were literally CRYING. I personally had to fight to hold my laughter. It was all so WRONG: the evil humans cracking jokes while hunting, the poor whales that are so smart, proud and beautyfull (they can literally TALK to navies!!!) but apparently can’t fight back (BECAUSE). Like you said it felt straight out a fricking Capitan Planet episode!!! So silly it felt like a cartoon!

In my opinion, people like James Cameron aka City People have a very unrealistic and sheltered view of nature. I grew up in nature and life and death was all around me at all times. But city people seem very fragile and get angry at the idea of death. I think that is why most militant vegans are city people.

History does not always move forward to better conditions. This is a Hegelian thought that became popular in the 19th century and it is not always the case. We have nations and civilisations that have collapsed throughout the history, even in modern History. It is hard to believe that Venezuela now is in a better place than it was in 1990. From the wealthiest Latin American country to a dictatorial one that has rampant inflation and constant power cuts. We can also look at many empires and civilisations that existed in North Africa and in the Middle East in the past that ended being substituted by worse and more backwards civilisations. Iran was better a few decades ago than it is now. History is not Hegelian where things only always improve. Supposing we have a nuclear war, how will that make our situation any better? How would that mean that we would be moving forward? The possible outcome of a nuclear war considering those who would survive it would be terrible.

Your framing of reason vs random is flawed. What we describe as random doesn't mean it had no reason, just that we don't always know why or how such an event occurred. It appears random to us, but that doesn't mean there was no reason. You're playing on the limits of human perception and understanding to arrive at the position you like the sound of.

Although I agree that making feminine characters masculine, just so you can say they are strong, isn't a good thing. Arya isn't like that for me , she isn't a masculine character that doesn't need to overcome difficulties or whom do not faces adversities based on her choices. She is indeed a character well constructed who happens to be more masculine than normal. It's easy to see martin isn't using the troph of modernety female since theres lots of other exemples of strong female characters in his work

Hey man, I just wanted to say for you to keep with the great work. Unfortunately a lot of discussions about media are on social media bubbles and they tend to fall into this disgrace of a paranoia the modern political discussion have become. Of course over time your channel will began to attract attention and you will probably receive a lot of backlash from these social media bubbles (if you haven't already had since you posted that "It's not fascism, bro" video) since unfortunately these platforms (including KZbin) encourage this destructive behavior between its users. Don't fall into this trap too. Greetings from Brazil.

Bro season 8 of the Game of Thrones was fan fiction. Jon should've been king of the seven kingdoms. He united the north to fight the white walkers. Died for people who are looked at as enemies. He chose to still protect the world, which only chastised him for being a bastard. He was more ned stark than robb stark ever was. The writers really messed up jon snows arc. Jon is truly a king. And unexpected one but a king none the less

Here is another fun fact: capitalism itself also doesn't exist. It was invented and coined by Karl Marx. It's a straw man argument he used. Adam Smith didn't argue for a political theory in the same way Marx did: he argued how both individuals and nations could make wealth. And then wrote a bunch of essays on how you should have a strong church and moral foundation to society to take care of things that business is not good at taking care of because business is all about accumulating wealth through productive means and reacting to a free market. Marx was essentially making his own religion and strawmanned both "capitalism" and Christianity at the same time. Really all capitalism actually is just allowing people to run their own businesses and manage their own money which is what people have generally done for thousands of years.

I like this argument. Transhumanist will always have issues because they will always have the problem of reproducing. Humanists can reproduce relatively easily. They alter themselves in a way that makes it more difficult, so their main plan is to convert. Good video.

Warhammer 40k is a positive vision of the future because even though there is plenty of corruption and incompetence and pettiness and cruelty and dysfunction there is also at least some honor and courage and loyalty and duty and sacrifice, even among leaders and institutions. Our world has much less of the these and none from leaders or institutions... Also, WH40k aesthetics are on point. "Life may suck and be short but at least we'll look good while we're doing it." We don't even get that. Everything is just ugly and stupid. And to add insult to injury, you get it with a dissertation about how beauty isn't real or it's all subjective or something like that.

The whole argument from randomness thing seems overly reductive. Consider that the random chance is still occurring under a set of rules. Physics will still make a universe composed entirely of 'dead' matter behave in a consistent and uniform way. The basics of biology will still behave in a uniform and consistent way. If life came into existence through random chance, that random chance still happened under a set of defined rules. Nothing is ever fundamentally chaos, it's just vast webs of interconnected phenomenon. Randomness only ever appears random because we don't have all the facts. Cause and effect will always exist, and therefore logic will always exist. As far as why religion will always be an aspect of humanity, it's because, fundamentally, humans need to believe in something. They need to understand why things are happening and how they happened. And they naturally gravitate toward the thing that provides the best answers. Best subjectively, since for some people life being meaningless beyond surviving and passing on genes is scary and depressing, and for others all life being controlled by an infinitely powerful being that can do whatever they want and we just have to deal with it is also scary and depressing.

Its that kind of attitude that keeps the conversation polarized for no reason. 40k is not only a massive franchise with contradictory and frequently retconned lore but reality itself has always something new for us to learn about and understand. I think the smug certainty of your own perspective and writing off another's perspective is more embarrasing than anything I did.

13:55 as a practicing nurse pagan I feel as though i should let you know that oh deed did not require human sacrifices in exchange for power. The Vikings did that as a scare tactic it was called the bloody eagle. to sum up what Oden desires, it doesn’t require anything of you except that you Learn and gain wisdom and therefore power. No sacrifices. Sacrifice another human being would be to not defeat them in combat which is inherently dishonorable

Repoosting the 5 doctrines of fascism here because I had no idea that there even were such doctrines and to feed traffic because this video is so informative. 1. The creation of a new man for a new century or historical era through an almighty state 2. Single party rule with no competing power brokers. Total centralization of power under one national institution and disregard for individual rights which would limit the power of the state. Because it's the power of the state that determines true morality so the state is a moral state no matter what horrible things it does. 3. The relentless march of history towards the future and the ever-increasing power of the state be it through industrial technology getting better or Militaristic expansion of perceived political and social advances which allow for it 4. Uniformity. All must March under one rhythm surpassing class distinctions and different identities within the state's borders. All are consumed by the state. Diversity is anathema to the single all power nation state. 5. Everything within the state and nothing outside the state. The state is a super soul. A holy spirit. The state is god. Thanks for the entertaining insights, bro <3 BTW the pasta breaking clip made me break down in laughter

Related Christian note: In the Christian view, the current world is fallen, and it's only after the events of the Book of Revelation when God will create Heaven, and then things will BE better. There are arguably no progressive steps of civilization to some perfect utopia, and indeed, many of those utopian ideal societies sound like a hell of conformity or an inhuman eternal lingering of robotic shadows of the true human minds that are now locked in metal.

I don't agree with your characterization of fascism as being some cynical power grab devoid of any principles. It's a loaded definition. The guys who are turning toward fascism generally want a right wing authoritarian system. To be frank, I don't see how a monarchy would be any less susceptible to the brutality of post enlightenment forms of government.
