Enjoyed that Ned, well done mate, gonna head down the Rocky soon and if you are up to it maybe a bit of a meet up if you are keen. Just got back from the Yuba river, California and got a little bit of Au, Thanes creek this weekend. Should be a good one, got a little spot out there. Let us know if you want to. Cheers Brad

G'day Brad , Ahh the Yuba river in Cali , great stuff . That's where Gary Two Toes , and Jeff from Smithsgold prospecting , plus a lot of other KZbinrs , Bluelead productions , Topcat ( Todd ) etc . That would have been quiet an experience no doubt , Good one !!!! Thanes creek , out Warwick way , i've never been there although years ago i did a bit of research on Goldfields , Palgrave and Durakai etc . Well , i haven't been prospecting of late due to a heavy workload , and family issues with my Brother in hospital , so things have been a bit overwhelming lately and probably won't ease up for a while , but thanks for the offer 👍👍 Good luck , and heavy pans mate. Cheers Ned . 👌✌

I''m a fellow prospector in Idaho, Montana and Western U.S.A, do you use manganese as a indicator to find high grade pockets.Old literature late 1890's and early1900 talked a lot about how gold could be put into solution , by natural sulphuric acid form lets say pyrite, manganese and some salt in the rocks not much say 4 pounds per ton. When you lost the ground water then they would be a pocket of gold and or silver.-it was a successful guide for prospecting the Idaho Batholith for gold and many districts found there.

Gold Hunter, Triple AAA video, the first one of yours I've seen, and learned much from the video and the comments also. Sulfides have me perplexed, but thanks to your video, I've learned so much more. In my adventures, I've picked up a few hundred pounds of rock with visible sulfides and gold, I have a pestle and mortar, but I need a dolly pot! I have a 6' diameter fire pit I made for burning bark, twigs, and rubbish from selling firewood and also branches from winter storms and scrap from lumber from projects I build, or refurbish. Last fall I had debris to burn and with a bonfire, I thought I would throw that rock in as I burned to roast the "rubbish" as you termed it and I raked the rock inwards keeping it in the coals as everything burned down until I could get close enough to start pulling the rock out and had a pail of water to throw them in thinking the thermal shock would fracture and make them easier to crush later with mixed results, however, I recently saw a video from VoGus on KZbin and he used a blower to add air and get extra hot which I have but didn't think of at the time and instead of throwing into a bucket of water, he dumped vinegar out of a jug onto the rock itself which he then crushed(?); it really looked like he was crushing chalk from the teacher's blackboard. I haven't done this yet, but I will soon this winter I will use a bucket with a gallon, or two of vinegar since it is cheap and I don't want to waste it, and I have maybe upwards of 20- 50 pounds of high grade with little veins and specks and also it looks like gold enriched silica coating this fragmented rock in area's, kinda like an electroplating done by nature and since the rocks are smaller and maybe specimens I'll use charcoal and a cast iron pan in my charcoal grill in much smaller batches directly from grill to vinegar bath so I don't boil all the vinegar out like I was doing with the pile of rock at the bottom of my fire pit and the bucket of water. I have never roasted sulfides before and now know I didn't get that rock hot enough, but mainly I wanted to make the rock easier to crush and maybe roast the sulfides at the same time, not. I am going to do my best stuff on the grill and see how that works keeping the gold natural and not pounded flat. I need to watch the video again of VoGus because I think he was just trying to make rock easier to break rather than roast sulfides and he was picking little lumpies out of what was solid rock. I believe Vogus is in Australia also; you prospectors from Australia rock! If I can get it hot enough I shouldn't have to redo the sand-sized sulfides, but probably will anyway and I would have thought the magnetics were like black sand out of a river- and set them aside until watching your video! I'll let you know how my experiment works out and do you think there is anything in the rubbish? I've subscribed and will watch the rest of your videos before I pester you with too many questions, thank you for this one. A Heads-up, I left Jeremy a sarcastic comment on one he left you from a year before, I hope you enjoy it!

Eva and I were Kayak fishing on Puget Sound Washington USA. The wind was 30 KPH or so, swells were 3/4 of a meter, the changed tide was going against us almost faster than we could paddle, and we found ourselves in a spot where 'close enough to the shore to get out of the current' was in the surf. Plus Eva had seriously bruised her tailbone falling on slick cobbles. We were seriously evaluating whether her injury was debilitating, which would require me building a fire, putting her in a bivvy sack and hiking up the cobble beach between the sound and the mountain until I go to the nearest multi million dollar luxury beach home 5 kilometers away and had them call the authorities. Luckily she wasn't hurt QUITE that bad and came up with the idea of me wading in the surf and floating the kayak upstream until we got past the problematic point 1.5 klicks away while she walked on the dry part of the beach. Once past the point, it was just a 5 klick grind for me to get to the public beach access. We made it to the last ferry of the night with 20 minutes to spare. Whew!
