From my understanding, you don't lose any quality from the sensor in Super 35 or Clear image zoom since Sony oversamples their video resolution. Any loss of quality that you see is just from the softness of the lens

Yes, the lens aperture does not change. I should have made that more clear. It's an F/4 on APS-C, which doesn't change to a full-frame f/4 just because it's placed on a full-frame body. An APS-C f/4 is approximately the equivalent to a full-frame f/6. Kind of like how an iPhone f/1.4 isn't as good in low light as a full-frame f/1.4

Light transmission remains the same regardless of the used sensor. So if you use a f/4 lens and choose your exposure settings the image will be exposed identically whether is full frame, apsc or a phone sensor. What you mean probably is you can compensate with higher ISO on a larger sensor because of the fact that it produces less noise. Also depth of field will be different but that's not just because of the aperture.

No way, what a great deal! I still use this lens 3-5 days a week. It really might be the most underrated Song full frame lens. I agree, great complimentary lens to the 24-105, I actually have that next on my list to buy!

I paid 675 shipped on ebay, was a V1 but they only changed the country of origin for the v2, it's an identical lens. but on that note, search for Sony lens roadmaps for the year - apparently there's a REAL v2 coming out... which.. man... i usually try to be v frugal, but i might have to sell the v1 then, to upgrade to it, i just love the thing so much... i wonder if it could be a PZ? bc i'm struggling to think of what they could fix, other than updating the OSS/AF to new electronics, maybe making it a lil lighter.. but a 24-105 PZ would be CRAAAAZY fun imo maybe not so practical, but i dunno... i just wanted to make sure you knew that, bc it would prob change my mental calculus re the purchase. the old ones will be quite a steal once the new one gets released anyway, happy to chat anytime, don't give this up, you have a great personality and your reviews are top notch, don't let the lack of views get to you. you know the idea of a meritocracy is false. obv it takes hard work, but luck and timing is so much of it, so much outta control and if you've been able to take care of your family and build what it seems you have then that's exceptional. i know it's easier said than done but don't try to quantify success here w hard metrics. i dunno, don't wanna drone on any more, but don't quit!

I've seen little glimmers of hope on KZbin, but as someone who unfortunately has to make money right now I've turned to client work and have put KZbin on the back burner.
