seriously you never once showed why we need a smartshunt? will it cut off the power if reaches the 10% ?
@stanislavcoros6 күн бұрын
what is the minimum voltate that this shunt will operate ? for example a mini victron mppt 100/20 only works until battery voltage drops under 5V, then its stops showing anything even vired to cerboGX

For even more safety, make a short (6~12" Andersen cable containing the light bulb).

Thank you for the video I have some questions as I bought this device but I'm retrofitting it into my lead acid battery system with three Banks now my negative and my positive cables from my battery are of equal length so I'm assuming since I have to connect this device to the terminal and then to the cable that I have to cut out the length of the shunt to keep the battery cable equal length looking for confirmation am I correct and thank you and of course I'll have to cut and I'll have to cut the positive cable the length of the shunt

Do all MultiPlus units do that or just the MultiPlus-II? How about the 48V MultiPlus 2kVA Inverter - 25A Charger? It says less than 20ms, what is actual?

Search Google for the term "high-frequency inverter no galvanic isolation?" to learn from Google Ai why these high-frequency inverters are not a safe choice for residential applications.

I have two 12V 100 Ah and they are very different voltage wise. The one with Bluetooth varies the voltage a lot as it discharges. The other battery voltage changes very little from 100% to 20%. In my experience, the AGM voltage chart reflects SOC much better than the LiFePo4 charts.
@CurrentConnected12 күн бұрын
If they are at different voltages, it's best to charge them both fully that way they can balance out.

No alarms? Or auto shutdown?
@CurrentConnected12 күн бұрын
The shunt is essentially just the sensing device, and does not contain any relay/contactor that can disconnect power. If you connected it to a Cerbo-GX, you can use SOC or voltage as the criteria for dry contacts / alarms.

Thank you! How long will capacitors stay charged?
@CurrentConnected12 күн бұрын
This depends entirely on the inverter. Some will hold charge for quite some time, while others have bleed resistors that discharge the capacitors in a few minutes. Furthermore, if the inverter is turned on, it can drain the capacitors very quickly.

Hello I would like you to give me your opinion (expert!) I have a multiplus 2 in (8000VA) in output + (2X on the 8000VA) should I put 1 or 2 disconnectors? since 2X50MM² are needed 2 disconnectors are better I think? the 2x 50MM cables will not fit on a disconnector. What do you think? on the other hand for the - (2X) should I also have 1 or 2 disconnectors? or can the 2 - cables of the multi go directly to the P- of the BMS jk? thanks

Although you did this 2 years ago , it is still relevant for new GX owners, just wanted to say thanks for this as I’m now able to remotely monitor my RV batteries that was factory equipped with the Cerbo GX , your explanation was easy to follow and that I’m sure would have been difficult using the manual ! New sub here.

Will the Nice-Power Adjustable Benchtop Power Supply charge the battery or is it just to wake up the battery?
@CurrentConnected12 күн бұрын
Technically you could charge with it, but ideally once the battery is re-activated, you would want to use a battery charger that corresponds to the battery chemistry.

My ionic 50ah battery is 1 year old and has went thru 4 cycles and now is reading 48 ah capacity. Is this a sign of a defective battery? Thank you
@CurrentConnected12 күн бұрын
It would be best to try fully charging it and then draining it completely, then recharging. Most batteries have very poor accuracy on their SOC% reading and get calibrated by fully cycling. Personally, I would use a SmartShunt instead.

I just added the Victron Multiplus II 2x120. I was informed to unplug the converter from the Rig house panel to prevent it from charging the batteries as the Victron will now do that. When I unplugged the Converter and turned off the battery disconnect next to the panel in the rig I lost all 12 Volt power. I switched the battery disconnect back on and still no 12 Volt power. I tested everything and found all voltages correct except for the 12 Volt Voltage entering the Main panel that was at "0". . When I plugged the converter back in I did get back the 12 Volts in the Rig house panel. Any suggestion?

When you disconect from 2nd batt and connect to charger the droping speed of voltage is faster than charging speed and after some how it will be unrecognaizable again for charger ! in %95 of cases

It really surprises me that such a large and well-reputed company like Victron does not have a better language translation of their software Victronconnect. I do not know who or what translated the language in their software, but it is certainly NOT a person with technical insight. I am referring to Victron's Danish translation. Are there others, with other language translations, who have made the same observation?

How do you wake up a Lifepo4 48 volt 200 ah ATV/golf cart BMS when it quits out in the field and you have no charger to reset it? It has a separate 12 volt AGM battery to power the winch and LED lights. The 48 volt battery charge connector has an Anderson plug. Can I make a jumper that connects the 12 volt to the 48 volt battery through their charge ports that will reset the BMS on the 48 volt battery? What about backflow current from the 48 volt into the 12 volt if it resets? Also, will a 12 volt 3000 amp portable battery charger reset the BMS without damaging either?

20 kw/h is not really what i call massive, we have 80 kw/h on our hotel with batteries system for day and overnight. Some people with big firms and factories put well over 3 Mega watts/h but for residential use it might be enouth that shed is small.

it's just surface charge. Fooling the charger. Trick is not to drain the battery in the first place.
