To paraphrase professor Bart Kay, humans do not consume calories. We consume mass and we have a hormonal response to them. Perhaps we could use Grams of the macros you’re eating instead of the misleading concept of calorie.

I’m trying to attempt carnivore but it’s so hard when I literally have to gag down meat and eggs. It takes me about 2 hours to eat a very small meal so I’m only getting in about 60grams of protein a day. I always loved veggies more even as a child and never liked meat much so it’s a struggle.

It’s best to find the right way of eating for u. If u love veg, then be vegan. I hate veg so carnivore is perfect for me.

This is so wrong. Getting fats into your diet is one thing, overendulging on saturated fats and eating sticks of butter is a heart attack waiting to happen. I'm very surprised so many people are ok with this trend. Alittle fat is ok, but not on this level. No thanks!

The carnivore diet means animal meat and animal byproducts like dairy and eggs. Everyone’s carnivore way of eating is going to be a little different and tailored to the individual’s nutritional needs, and their preferences and what is sustainable for them. Let’s celebrate growing healthier, and not get caught up in these silly games of what counts as carnivore or not.

@@estherruth4692Hi, I totally agree with your take on Carnivore, every person who is carnivore based does it a little differently but the basis of their diet is proteins and fats. I believe if you manipulate your diet a little bit to keep 95% proteins and fats then that’s great. I know some successful carnivores that will have a few dill pickle slices with their hamburger patties. That’s fine in my opinion as long as it keeps them in a high percentage of proteins and fats. The proof is in their weight loss their blood work, and the improvement in their quality of life due to the carnivore lifestyle. And you’re exactly right so many people play stupid games. Carnivore lifestyle has made me successful where other ways of eating have failed me miserably.

I couldn’t agree more that we need to get our joy from some other place than food. I wish I had heard that 20 years ago before I had a major operation that affected my life from then until now. Ongoing. I went from 329 pounds of being healthy to being malnourished, anorexic , looking like a survivor of a Jewish concentration camp Skelton with saggy dry skin, low protein level, low iron that leads to blood transfusions to raise it, to kidneys and liver trying to work in cleaning out my blood but retaining fluid and blowing up like a balloon because the kidneys can’t pump and liver can’t clean the fluid out. And I could go on because I have nothing better to do but watch KZbin videos all day making comments and getting further depressed because my knees were both broke from osteoporosis that I didn’t know I had and both knees popped one was going through rehab after no weight on it for 8 weeks and less then a week later I snapped the other knee almost exactly like I did the first one. So now I have 2 badly “healed” knees, no energy, low every vitamin and mineral that u can name, exhausted and tired all day long no matter how much sleep I didn’t get the night before, a severe pain pill addiction that affected my life after the surgery because the Dr said they were safe and not habit forming because the “GOVERNMENT” said so until it became a bad addiction and if I didn’t have them I would go through the most awful withdrawal known to man and preyed to die and now staying in bed most of the day because my pain is so great and I will not go back on pain medication and ever have to go through that again. I can’t eat. My husband just passed Aug 30,2024 unexpectedly. 57 Years old and being married for 39 years Feb 1 after being high school sweethearts. Ok I could keep going and I’m sure there r very few people who kept reading this so I won’t keep moving my fingers over the keyboard to say why I agree. Because if I had known 20 years Ago that I weighed so much was because I LOVED FOOD!!! I love to chew and swallow and savory the food. I get pleasure from the scent of a great NY Pizza. I got happy the more often I ate the bigger the portions and if I could cook. a meal that brought that same joy to someone else that I loved. I wish I had known this 20 years ago. But alas, I didn’t. And the easiest way for me was to do all the pre required steps to be eligible to have this $ 50k surgery. Then like magic I would start dropping weight. Be happy again , even though I was happy and healthy at that point in my life at 329 pounds No health issues what so ever. Other than not being able to fit comfortably behind a table in a booth at a restaurant. Or go to one of my girls softball games and sit without breaking my folding chair. Be able to go shopping and buy clothes from someplace that didn’t say plus on it and not be flowers or a big ole grandma night shirt or go to an amusement park and fit into the seat of a rollercoaster. Or buy the extension belt for my school bus I drove and my van. But FOOD was my high. Food was my pleasure. Food was my life. I ate because I LOVED FOOD. Still do but can’t eat it. If u take away someone’s happy things what happens next? You find other ways to replace them. Unfortunately I turned to pain med and a glass of wine. No pain and hopefully a good nights sleep. Major depression. Only living in the “ why didn’t I?” Stage. So anyone who happens to read this let this be a lesson or a warning try to really change ur eating habits. Not for a month or two of dieting. But a lifetime commitment. Because if u make it a “diet”, to me that ment temporary. A month or two of watching what I eat then gradually eating all the bad processed stuff again until the next fad. If I could had eaten then the way I eat now I would probably look and feel amazing at 57. I was always physically fit. Very active considering my weight. When I played sports I was always very good. Golfing bowling softball volleyball. But now at 57 nodda. Please listen to what people like this lady is saying. Because I eat as earliest as I can in the morning depending if I wake up an not feeling sick first thing. Protein shake first. Slowly so stomach can digest it. Then over med egg in a rice paper wrap with cheese. Now if I wake up sick I don’t eat anything. Which is most days and it’s not until I’ve watched 100 of foodie KZbinrs hoping it will make me hungry or inspire me to fix something around 5-6 in the evening. By the evening iv probably drank another protein drink. If i have not been able to eat i will drink a premade one bought at the grocery store. If my stomach is not agreeing all day or I can’t even tolerate the thought of food. If stomach seems ok I would hopefully made a blender full of protein packed foods. Oh yeah did I mention I don’t have teeth? I have dentures but because I have to have them completely redone 3 times because I lost so much weight and muscle in my mouth they don’t fit properly and all the time I’ve had to go in between getting them fixed my gums have gotten pretty rough. So a lot of meat is off the table. Certain meats I can cut or shred small enough and take small bites and gum, gum, gum, my meat to death. Chicken thigh is the easiest fo my stomach and chewing. Back to the protein shake. Fill it up with 2protein packed foods drinks pulverized nuts of all kinds until it almost has a peanut butter consistency, big scope of peanut butter. then Greek Yogurt, fruit bananas always 2 scoops of high cal high protein powders that cost 80$ each lasting a month. So if I have been able to drink one of these I don’t worry too much about eating at night. That’s probably one of the reasons I weigh 103 right now. Anything else that I can say to u to convince u that it’s important not to try a quick fix, temporary diet? And to adopt or adjust around this ladies eating lifestyle? If I had had a person like me or her telling them all of this or listening to what she is saying would I have changed? Idk 🤷 maybe. Because until it finally hit me after becoming sober and completely off of all brain altering medication did I pin point my real problem. Find something that makes u happy other then getting pleasure from food. I wish I did. Anyone still there? Thanks for reading.

Me personally i just find the egg whites add so much volume to the food, sometimes i just wanna have the yolk, especially if im mixing a smoothie or protein shake. I find it more creamy that way. The whites i just end up saving in the fridge and i eat them a different day.
