Is that true, I heard one chef says that when knife cuts on the adductor muscle on the flat side, the scallops will release it self from the shell and the shell will pop up to open?

@@tjashton my wife is California Native American and every spring we go to the north coast and harvest seaweed. We rinse it off in sea water then dry it out in the sun and store it in paper bags. We fry it and use it in other dishes. So if something is valuable it doesn’t matter the amount one pound or a thousand pounds.

Mussels sell for a low price so you need very big farms to make money. However we do get a lot of really nice mussels growing on the bouys and gear. We do sell a few locally and I like taking them home to eat!
