I've finished all the wooden parts and found the instructions about covering to be a little confusing so thanks very much for this which has set me straight. A quick question if I may. On their shop the only glue stick they sell is an uhu one but will prit or supermarket glue sticks do the job?
@robbrennanrc8 ай бұрын
Hi. Thanks for watching and yes any glue stick will do. I use some non branded ones bought from a small shop that sells lots of stuff really cheap.

I finished the plane today. Looks really good, just need to get something like lead shot to balance it. Thank you for the help and the video which gave me a lot more confidence that I was doing the right thing. Already looking forward to the next one.

Hello Rob. After I sprayed the tail fin, it looks like the tissue has touched together in a couple places. I possibly got it too wet. Do you know if there is a fix or do I have to take the cover off and start again? Appreciate any advice you could give.

Hi. I have also done this a time or two but after several attempts I unfortunately ended up cutting the tissue out and recovering. There may be a way to do it but I am not aware sorry.

@Rob Brennan RC Thank you very much for the answer, will try again. Did the tail fin first as a test and then did a mistake that couldn't be done on the bigger parts. Oh well, live and learn 🙂

I bought the spitfire a few years ago as my first model and gave up near the end of the fuselage as was so confused as to what to do and in fact had made mistakes earlier in the build due to some guesses, felt like was totally on my own. Noticed you had a really good video, watched and nearly bought another one. Have decided to make this one first as it seems a bit simpler and really enjoying it so far. Not looking forward to the tissue part but your video has gave me a lot of confidence. Thank you as you may have started a new hobby for me.

I wish the prop install was as easy on the model I have. I simply have one long thick wire that I have to somehow 'sculpt' into shape and it's proving real hard. :/

Lovely little Bird Dog :) Thank you, Rob, for all your tutorials! Great to see you building it step by step. Your videos are pretty inspiring and resemble me when I was building glider models as a kid. I just regret that we couldn't see her flying. I hope she flies as good as she look... I think I'm gonna build this Cessna some day... or something similar. But by far, I'm starting with looking other your model videos. PS. Why haven't you tense the cover? I used to wetten it with sprayed water, if I used a thin packing paper, or impregnate with a lacquer, if I used 'Japanese paper' (not sure how to call it in English...). But maybe it's different kind of paper...

Mr. Brennan thank you so much for uploading these super informative videos, without the tissue covering tutorials I would've never been able to finish my own plane, a Guillows authentic scale f6f hellcat, to the level of beauty seen here on this channel. I've looked up and down KZbin for any and all tutorials on stick and tissue planes only to come up short time and time again. As far as I can tell your channel is the only one that really takes time to break down the WHOLE process step-by-step with no unnecessary jump cuts or skipping that seem to plague a lot of other channels. Again many thanks for the videos and keep up the amazing work!

@MORCOPOLO08174 жыл бұрын
You should put a washer between the propeller and thrust bearing. Also, always leave one bay open in the back where the motor peg is without tissue so you can install the rubber more easily. Make sure to lube your rubber motor.

Thanks Rob, didn't have a set of instructions so this was very helpful, just the wing to build now and the Cessna will be almost ready to Go!
