Nice presentation, I want to ask you in case of discus shipment for many days, when we open bag the ph will increase and ammonia will harm discus, so I seen many discus keeper move it directly to tank without acclimation. Pkease advise
@discusdivana75812 ай бұрын
Hello Ahmad, yes you can add discus directly to a tank if you know what you are doing. If you have exact water perimetres info from the supplier and you make your water the same, then you can put fish in directly. It remains dangerous though, I would recommend adding a good anti-ammonia product in their water, I use Seachem Safe salts for example. Because you open the bag, the pure oxygen goes out and normal air enters. The water may react to the normal air, and yes when pH goes above 6.5-6.8, Ammonia becomes very toxic.

Hello Divana, greetings from Mexico. You have limited us from your valuable videos, I hope you send us more content soon. I would like to know your point of view about the fact that I had a clutch with a high fertilization rate, without fungus, but on the third day, prior to free swimming, the hatched fry detached themselves from the cone, falling and dying (or perhaps they died first and then fell). Thank you.

Hello Divana. I have a problem in begining steps of breeding. I'll be appreciate if you help me. At first the pair take care of babies carefully until the first two days of free swimming (10 days overall) but, suddenly I don't know what happens! All of them disapears and the parent start to lay new eggs! If they eat their babies why they don't earlier! I don't know exactly what's need to do! I don't want to raise them in a separate tank.

Congratulations on your videos! Do you treat your baby discus with potassium permangante, or something else, while they are growing. I lose a lot around 2 to 3 months, all at once. It's a shame. Any advice to give me?

Hello, Nice video and very nice discus. The question is, how often and what kund of food do you feed the adult discus during and after spawning... until they separate from the young. It happened to me that after a one week, the fish pair spawned again while they still had young and they ate their young. Thank you!

hello, i am after some help. for the first time i have got a whole batch of free swimmers. Had about 50-60 all has been fine they have been with the parents for about 10 days. i have lost all but 10 any idea why? i have them in my main discus tank but i have partitioned a section with good flow with white backgrounds so the fry can find the parents. The 10 have been fine now for about 5 days and seem to be growing well, but for next time i would like to have more than 10 at this point. Any advice would be appreciated? thanks

So glad I came across your video about wormwood. I've been using this for a decade+ for my cats and fish internal parasites and worms and it has saved me a small fortune on meds for both. It works. Be cautious as it can be overdosed and harms the liver in excess. I have nano fish and only need a drop to soak food in, but same method as you, soak for a while and feed immediately. I dose once for 2, maybe 3 days and then every week for quarantining new fish or suspect tank infection.

Once they get used to a particular food, they won't eat anything else. Train them when they're at young age.
