How simple and efficient can one person get? I will be using your method in the future. Thank you for showing this method to everyone.

I like making things from pallets but it seems removing the nails is the most time consuming part! Really important to puck GOOD pallets to start with, no use putting this much time into junk…
Thanks for showing the way. Going to start dismantling pallets now that I have an endless source of them. I am tight on cash and was looking at all the videos showing methods with pallet busters and air compressor guns to get the nails out. This is absolutely the way I will be going. Ingenuity at its finest.

Why Rice Bran Oil ??.. That is hard to find and not one we'd use for other stuff.
@lapislignumАй бұрын
Just because it is fairly cheap and has a high flash point. YMMV
@lapislignumАй бұрын
Oh, I already bought it for heat treatment, otherwise I wouldn't care much about flash point
@SmeeUncleJoeАй бұрын
@@lapislignum Do we need a high flash point ? It is an aqueous solution. I would not know where to begin to look for that and I'll bet it's rarity would make it expensive.
@lapislignumАй бұрын
Just mix any oil with water and some detergent, if it looks milky it will lbw better than nothing. Or buy cutting fluid.
@SmeeUncleJoeАй бұрын
@@lapislignum I cannot just use regular cutting fluid as they use the same crap as in antifreeze and auto coolant. That splashes on my basement floor . My cats step in it, even when it's dry and then lick it off their paws. They then die a horrible death.

I wish all pallets behaved that well, I have a load of pallets with beefy nails or nails that are bent both ends to stop them coming out or ones with ridges to help prevent them coming out

Why can you not do this with a fuel barrel? Is it because of possible combustion (which can be avoided by rinsing the barrel)?
@lapislignum2 ай бұрын
Yeah basically, rinsing (filling the barrel and emptying it) would work, you could chisel it while full of water to be super safe.

Yup! Good! I wonder if you could yank nails even faster in the last step once you have driven them back through the boards by just grabbing nails with the vise-grips (or a pair of channel locks)?
@lapislignum3 ай бұрын
Not sure that would be faster than the claw of a hammer but I do need some channel locks.
