Why is the oil pan replaced? Is that a nice to have or mandatory during the ATF oil/filter change? Great video!
@DroneFixes24 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment. The choice to change the oil pan depends if you want to add a drain plug. To perform the progressive series of fluid changes it would ease the workload considerably. Sadly it's not possible to drain all the fluid in one visit without special equipment, or should I say it's not easy.

Thank you, this is one of the best troubleshooting videos I've ever seen. I'm still in the process of discovering what my problem is, but I saw a video from Red Dog Media where he had a fuel problem, and he replaced a LOT of components, only to find out it was the FP relay, and it wasn't making a good connection, so he twisted the relay terminals slightly. He also mentions the paper clip trick, across the relay terminals, which I may try... I mean... ANYTHING to avoid removing the tank! I'd like to see a flowchart for troubleshooting this... crank/no crank, check fuel pressure at the rail; pressure/no pressure; check regulator, check relay and fuses, etc.... also, I have a Suburban that had a similar problem, about the same year, and same 6.0L engine, it turned out to be a ground from the tank, to behind the drivers wheel, that looked great, but when I took it off and cleaned it, the fuel problem went away. Anyways, thank you very much, check out my Hummer on my channel!

@@atyt11 TBH the link to the Part 2 did not appear as it should, hopefully that's better now. If you have any specific problem regarding mirrors I'll do my best to help, most common problem are the mirror-glass drive gears, these are hard to fix as there's no source of spares at the moment 👍

@@hummerfixes did H2 ever come with manual mirrors?, Can you manually move them if they are electric? customers H2
@hummerfixes2 ай бұрын
@@atyt11 as far as I'm awareH2 mirrors were only ever electric. If mirrors can't be adjusted electronically driving can be very difficult especially if the mirrors keep moving due to vibration (broken gears) Although I've had 3D printed gears made, sadly the manufacturing accuracy is not consistent enough to offer a viable solution (still working on it) Broken gears represent the majority of issues but not all, other plastic assembly parts break and even the little potentiometers wear-out or stick. Recently I believe the complete power-fold motor assembly has become available which is good news, just wish the mirror mechanisms were.

@@hummerfixes Hi) I've seen such videos , but also I read the manuals, cause one day I've made the same mistake and my friend (mechanic ) has noticed me that it's incorrect. Silent blocks work like additional springs and ut's better to tighten them in their usual position.

I thought gm came out with a TSB that said not to use dexron vi but to use something with dexron 3h compatible?
@hummerfixes3 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comments. According to the manuals you may be correct, however it's a very much debated point. People "in the know" use VI however GM recommendations may be related to legal changes etc. The recommendations here were based on background research, for example bulletin #04-07-30-037E, however the final choice is up to the user.

I installed my new fuel pump in my H2 two days ago and as I was putting the tank back into place I heard something crunch. Now I have gas leaking in the exact spot more towards the back side of the tank where you initially put your hand. My question is will I have to drop the entire tank again just to fix it? If so then I guess I will but I really didn't want to have to do it again in all honesty.😔
@hummerfixes4 ай бұрын
Hi J, thank you for your comments and sorry to hear you're having issues. Presuming it's not an 03 tank from your previous comment (BTW the small connector is the main fuel line to the engine, the large one is the EVAP) Need more data/feedback really, but perhaps the 1st thing is to positively identify the area/source of the leak, difficult I know. If your engine starts and runs OK that suggests the main (small) fuel line is OK and points to the EVAP line. BTW Hummerfixes has more videos on the fuel pump installation and the operation of the fuel pump, these might help with your analysis.
@J.Crooner4 ай бұрын
@@hummerfixes I went out this morning and I found the leak. Its the small main fuel line. I have the 2005 SUT model. The last person who installed the previous fuel pump used a piece of hose to bridge where the connector attaches to the fuel pump terminal and the actual line. I'm going to have to reverse engineer what was done and see what size hose replacement I'll need to make the repair. I really wish I had an access panel in the back of my truck so I could work from the top side. It would make this job 1000% easier to deal with. Dropping the entire tank is a bit cumbersome in all honesty but if it fixes the problem then I'm happy.👍😎👌
