I do apologize for the rather clickbait-y title, but it encapsulates the video pretty well 🙏 I'd like to take the time to say thank you to all that dropped by the Scarlet stream, it would never have been as fun playing through the game without chat's shenanigans. Y'all know who you are. This video is also my last video for the year 2022, so I'd like to thank all of you who took the time out of your days to watch my content, it really does mean the world to me. Without you guys, this channel wouldn't exist. The Hariyama incident also wouldn't exist (Shallot, I'm pointing at you). I would like to incite a little extra information on Monster Hunter Stories 2 as you clearly haven't made it too far. Yes, the battle style is simple at the beginning. But later on in the game, you will have to rely on the tic tac toe strategy more sparingly as enemies later on can 2 shot you if not careful. Weapon switching and part breaking will also be more important as dangerous attacks and even states can be completely cancelled if a part is broken fast enough. Your rider isn't made to be your major offense for the beginning of the game as you have noticed. They are the only way to heal yourself and monstie (Also your battle buddies can heal, but are less consistent and cannot be commanded). The rock, paper, scissors mechanic I would actually more challenging than pokemon combat as it becomes way more risk and reward the further in you go. There are plenty of fights in the main story that are quite challenging, and the postgame and extra content can be monstrously difficult without studying heavily on the skill tree. Oh, and for the skill tree. There is a lot of complexities to it that are extremely exploreable if you find the right genes. You can consider gene grinding like shiny hunting, but less tedious as while perfect gene finding isn't super rare, it will take you a few hours of searching at most. The story is pretty simple, yes. But there are a lot of twists and uniqueness to it that helps it stand out from being completely standard. Also without spoiling, the final boss is incredible as while it isn't the hardest fight in the world, it relies heavily on using your moves in the right time and a little bit of gambling with the rock paper scissor mechanic. You also have to pay attention on what it is doing as it can trip you up in a second and take out your entire team in a single hit (like another story boss earlier on). But yeah, that's a bit more info for Monster Hunter Stories 2. I admit, the game isn't perfect, no game is. But it is one of the most fun rpg's I have ever played. Indutro, I know you have your own opinions and you haven't beaten the game yet, but you absolutely undersold this game, dude. It's a jolly good 40-50 hrs for the main game alone, and I wish more people were playing the game as I am currently stuck on an undisclosed arena quest that is the hardest fight in the entire game. Please send help.

I got the game on release, and, having played very little Monster Hunter at the time, was not impressed. The combat's great, and I love the monster designs, but the story just didn't stand out. It stood out enough for me to beat it, but wasn't great in my opinion. Worse than that, it's unfeasible to bring early game monsties through the entire game unless you want to make it a lot harder. I figured this through trial and error. But by that point I had already made a connection to my party, and there was no way I was changing them out. I think I beat the game with a Ku-Lu-Ya-Ku in my party, if that's how you spell it. I was unimpressed. Now Nexomon: Extinction on the other hand...

About your quip at the legendary looking similar to a certain Pokemon, that Nexomon is based off a Nexomon in the first game which came out years before gen 8. So it's the other way around actually lol.

Nexomon, Monster Crown and Monster Sanctuary are all great. Played each a few times over in the last few years. World of Final Fantasy definitely should have become a series by now. It's final fantasy with monster taming, it's money waiting to be printed.

I would personally recommend coromon and some SMT and Persona games (5 because it's accessible on the switch and the same goes for Persona 5R) And on the 3ds well there is a huge library of megaten games if you are interested in any of them.

Seconding the Disc Creatures rec. I haven't beaten the game, but I got to the final dungeon before I stopped (though I really should try to finish the game someday lol). Although the game is a bit rough around the edges, it does a fantastic job at capturing the Gen 1 Pokemon feel in a way most other Pokemon-like games don't.

I really do like Abomination, but I hadn't realize that my computer couldn't run it well as I was playing at about 30 percent of the speed. I waited though, and waited trough the slowed ending twice Don't get me wrong I knew it had to be a bug but I tought it was the game, not my laptop, and that everyone had this problem If anyone else had this problem I would like to know!

Personally, I think Yo Kai Watch is better than Pokemon in almost all ways. The story is more engaging and not overly repetitive. There’s voice acting to help with some of the dialogue. There’s a massive amount of stuff to do (including exploration and side quests) both in the main story and post-game. The battle system is also more dynamic. The only things I’d say that Pokemon do better are in making designs since they’re a lot more palatable and making it easier to capture/befriend the monsters. In YKW, I don’t like how you basically just have one shot and that’s it. And unlike Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, a lot of these Yo Kai are wicked rare to spawn and it’s much harder to encounter them in the first place (much less recruit them). But otherwise, I enjoy YKW more than any of the 3D Pokemon games (but not as much as the 2D games or the PMD games of either media type).

PERSONALLY i had a lot more fun with Scarlet than i did with Wings of Ruin, both are good games, it's just that Stories 2 got really annoying at times, at least Pokemon lets me have different strategies other than "hit it until it dies" with things like Defensive Pokemon being good set up types, weather effect bonuses and even abilities plus i found i gave much more of a crap about Koraidon than i did with Razewing, me feeding him sandwiches and gradually getting him back to 100% was much more of a bonding experiances than Naviru screaming about how much i cared about a Rathalos i flat out NEVER used once in my play through because i already had fire type monsters that i liked a lot more

Pokemon SV were really fun ! The performance issues did not really affect the gameplay but I get what you are saying. What I truly find outrageous is the emptiness of the post-game, if there is one ? Sorry but putting the end of the game like it was post-game did not work on me. There wasn't much to do after beating the league. Completing the Pokedex, allright. Beating the gyms again, done. Then what ? Nothing. Wait 6 months for DLCs.

From a pure gameplay perspective, it's one of the best Pokémon games ever. Everyone dunks on the performance, but us filthy casuals can easily overlook that and appreciate the games for what they are: fun.

i don't have problems with the mechanics of the game, nor the stylistic choices. i have a big issue with the games performance tho, it's simply unacceptable. but STILL, this has been the most fun i've had with a game freak game in a while and idk if it's because of the "freshness" of the open world aspect or something else

Very great video and yes while scarlet and violet do lack in some things, I was pretty curious when you mentioned that the worldbuilding was rather lacking. I would like to hear more detail on your take on it because I think the paldea region is the best region when it comes to worldbuilding.

You should try the smt or persona series as well. I’d say smt is more similar to Pokémon (you actually fight alongside the demons in battle) where Persona is more like final Fantasy or something.

Monster hunter stories 2 gets a little bit better on the grinding aspect because eventually there’s an option to one-shot the weaker opponents once you’ve become strong enough. But that’s only when you reach certain levels so it’s still a slight grind. It’s a good addition tho compared to the first game.

Wings of Ruin and the Monster Hunter Stories series are honestly just so good. They're what Pokemon COULD be if Gamefreak tried harder Also Navirou sucks lol. Easily the worst thing about the game

It's gotten to the point where I don't even know what people want in a pokemon game anymore. If the town's and cities I'm pokemon swsh and SV are lack luster, then what's considered as a city that isn't? If the story of SV wasn't good enough, then what's considered a good story better than the one we got? Everyones always asking for this and that and I think it's gotten to the point where the pokemon company themselves don't even know what we want. It just really disappoints me how everyone went from seeing pokemon as a fun franchise with great content and interesting stories to seeing it as a money hungry powerhouse that's willing to cut corners to pump out mediocre games all for money. I don't want pokemon to become what the sonic games became, you know, the games that are terrible but always have good soundtracks.

Scarlet and Violet weren't worth the price?!?! No, you know what wasn't worth the price? Sword and Shield. The fact the everyone seems the forget how atrocious they were and still are. Also this whole narrative that people have been pushing that Pokemon has been taking us for granted is a relatively new thing that people have been saying after Ultra Sun and Moon. The only games I would say are not worth the price are USUM, SS, and BDSP. Not SV. People have been acting like this game was a fallout 76 or a cyberpunk 2077. When those games were virtually unplayable on release. The only problem I've had with the game is performance issues and that's it. The only reason people have been pushing this Pokemon sucks narrative is because it's the popular thing to crap on the franchise. Now, does this mean I don't wish the game was more polished? Yes, of course I do. But acting like this is the worst game ever is just stupid.the main reason I hate this so much is that people act like the older Pokemon games were these monuments of game that stand the tests of time when that is just not true.

Tbh I had a problema with the variety of pokemon because even if there was a lot of pokemon in the areas there were the same in their mayority making the area feeling less unique, also the difficulty was even easier than usual, I could finish the game 12 levels under everything I do without any problem. And for me the performance Issues are at the same level of cyberpunk (And Cyberpunk had the decency to fix the problems, SV Will never do it xd) Because is horrible to be at 20 fps and having Issues all the time
