Second comment but i wanted to say more LOL In the story i have been working on for a very long time, I’ve needed an invading force to come to the “protag’s country” I thought.. Orcs! But Orcs are always depicted as evil mindless barbarians. But… the Romans called the Mongolians barbarians, too. Mongolians! One of, to my admittedly limited knowledge, the most effective military forces in history And apparently! I learned that Mongols is actually an insult akin to idiot or dumb. Which is just so far from the case! They have lives and culture! I want to try and represent that. They’re invading, yes. They are the “antagonists,” yes. Adrian is forced to kill many of them, because he’s a soldier. But, my hope is, if i write it well, to give the audience a taste that there is more to them than simply evil minions. All we get to see is their military, so of course it will shape our view. But, in the sequel, we get to GO to the Mongolian country and experience their culture! Art and music and food and people living their lives! This isn’t necessarily an… excuse (?) to condone ancient invasions or conquests. Rome was not pretty in that regard, yet we still venerate it. There’s so much more to history and culture that we simply don’t get to see. I hope, in my story, i can further push the envelope on making everyone feel like they are people, not just good or bad, our side or theirs. I want to include differences in perspectives, regions, philosophies, mythologies and religions. A step toward that, I think for me, is actually trying to understand more about languages. I don’t think I’ll ever speak fluent Mongolian (Not sure if that’s an accurate title of the language, I just did a quick google search) Hell, I can hardly speak English! But I think in my case it helps immensely to have at least a passing understanding of how a language might sound or how it might be interpreted differently than others And yes, AoT was a MAJOR inspiration for this line of thinking. I’d also attribute at leSt some of it to World of Warcraft, too. I think, when I was 12, it was probably the first time that the undead weren’t all evil, the orcs werent all mindless war machines. I mean… WoW doesn’t stray from those tropes very far, but it was my first glimpse into the reality that perspective shapes our views. As someone with Autism, I always related to the “Outsider Horde”

Haven’t finished the video yet so idk if you talk about it here but SPOILERS FOR AOT S3+ Im not going to be able to add anything of importance or relevance to the conversation BUT It is interesting and i think plays into the idea that a character arc can be complete when someone dies For me, no scene represents this more than Erwin’s death. So close to his goal, but having to choose to give up on his dream in the slim hope that others will take it and move forward. He’s my favorite character, it’s my favorite scene, and it was the PERFECT ending for Erwin You know you’ve done a good job when my favorite scene is where my favorite character dies

You should do a video over the Sukuna and Gojo fight now that it’s over. They have such an interesting dynamic that makes you feel like it’s not necessarily good vs evil the entire time. Of course Gojo is a good guy and Sukuna is a personification of evil, but they both revel in the thrill of a good challenge regardless of the damage.

from my point of view I feel like women are supposed to be sweet and men are supposed to go after what they want. Women are getting aggressive now because we are learning that if we don’t fight all we gonna do is sit in the corner and nobody puts baby in the corner lol… we don’t have to literally fight but in some type of way we have to be bitchy/ aggressive we can sit around and wait for stuff to happen to us or make moves and when females finally decide…. They literally decide and you can’t tell them nothing after that and that’s what we all need strong females… everything is energy and when you’re bossing up sometimes you will motivate your coworkers to boss up as well… it is a competition but your competition stepped up and did what she needed to do to earn her spot… females aren’t always trying to come off as malicious but as I stated if we sit around then we get the short end of the stick… it’s kinda Nice guys /good people think we’re nice so nice things are going to happen for us to but you have to go get your nice things and that’s just what it is…. And as much as men can’t stand “bitchy women”… they are not going to settle down with the Push over until nobody else wants them they might marry them but every guy loves a Bad Girl lol❤

Honestly Death's introduction in Puss in Boots has got to be one of my favorite villain introductions at the moment. It's so simple and effective and the voice acting just gives me chills. That's something I love about content created for children; it has this beautiful simplicity that a lot of content aimed at adults fails to maintain. Honestly, I don't even care about what genre a film or series is, or who it is aimed at, if it is done really well I will probably love it.

You have so many videos I really don't know if you're familiar with Johan Liebheart. That's peak villany for me and he's introduced like this harmless boy that can give you goosebumps while you're left with this feeling of tf happened? Until it all comes together and the story takes a turn.

But he's not terrifying. As much as I love these movies (until the last one, which was ridiculous) they're just fun shoot-em-ups. I've seen too many good movies to lump this in with the great action movies that came before it.

So, two examples I have of the “No Kill” rule from media that not everyone might have seen, Gundam. Specifically Kira “Jesus” Yamato from SEED/SEED Destiny/SEED Freedom, and Kia Asuno from AGE (specifically the final arc). Both characters have a no kill rule they adopt after seeing the horrors of war and is facilitated by their extreme piloting skills and OP Mobile suits (Freedom, Strike Freedom, Rising Freedom, and Mighty Strike Freedom for Kira, and the AGE-FX for Kia). Kira doesn’t kill, and never targets the cockpit. The only time he breaks his rule (which he does) is at the end of Destiny and the end of Freedom (the movie) when he realizes that his enemy won’t change or grow to understand, and are too much of a threat to keep alive. Kira doesn’t get in the way of his allies killing in battle. Kio on the other hand, absolutely fucks up his allies when fighting to prevent them from killing anyone. After getting the rule, he does not break it. IMO, Kia is an ass. Don’t fuck over your own teammates. But at the same time, I can see his POV.

I never saw John as villian despite how they wrote it, I saw a guy that retired from being a bad guy, not unlike the protaginist in Unforgiven. When the dog was killed and he realized it, it was like a switch flipped and the dragon woke up, again like Unforgiven. Both movies with protaganists with a very legendary reputation unleashing it against the person that did them wrong. Imo the writers might have used Unforgiven as inspiration for how they wrote John Wick.

A great inverse of this trope is in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. When Indy is describing to the Nazis why they won't ever find Marcus Brody because "he's an expert in dozens of languages, cultures, and a master of blending in. With any luck, he's already one step away from finding the Grail as we speak." And then an immediate smash cut to Marcus being absolutely lost and out of his element in an open air market begging for help in English. Comedy, horror and suspense are basically cribmates in the house of writing.
