I have a pro hunter and have a 30-06 deadly accurate never had to use a second shot best single shot out there no exceptions.

Have five barrels from my TC love it

My Contender pistol has a 14" barrel and it kills like lightening.

I've had great success with the .444 Marlin in both a lever gun and a Contender pistol.

We have 2 TC Encores love them but when we bought 35 Whelen barrels they both misfire with these barrels. What is our best options. All other barrels work properly.

1st choice - 444 closely followed by the ol reliable 45-70

How about the 375 H&H Mag. I have one for my encore barrel and the recoil is not that bad. 375 H&H is a good long range round.

I'd swap the 300 mag for a 243. You already have the 7.

I'm a 25/06 heavy barrel shooter, but that's just me, an old hillbilly.

.444 with a 20 in. twist or .45-70 with a 18 in. twist will reach out to 350 yards with rifle type bullets. They are more flexible from deer to moose.

I've shot the 7mmRem mag and the 300Win mag calibers in assorted rifles over the past half-century and they are all outstanding for accuracy and power. I've only shot the Encore rifle with a factory Pro-Hunter standard weight barrel in .243Win. I have settled on the Hornady factory 100 gr. BTSP load and it always delivers five-shot groups around 3/4 inch or less. I hope to try this same gun with a 270Win barrel since it has always been my favorite caliber. I began shooting the TC Contender pistol in 1968 when the only offerings that I could find were the .357mag and the 22lr calibers. I bought an octagon barrel version because that's all that was available. I had owned several revolvers in.357mag caliber so that's what I chose for the Contender. My first groups with the TC blew my socks off. I never looked back. I went on to shoot that gun in 7mmTcu to qualify and shoot AAA Class in Production Handgun Silhouette. I've not owned the MGM barrels but in conversations with shooters who have, they say they are outstanding for accuracy and quality.

Your not comparing apples and apples Do your tests with as close as possible bullet weights. Pistol bullets are light weight. You can't compare them to heavy rifle bullets

Why do you need a SCOPE to hit something at 500 yards? We never had scopes in the USMC and we had NO PROBLEM hitting targets at 500 yards with iron sights... Is everyone today part of LGBTQ?

What was the barrel length you tested the 300WM with?

I bought an EABCO 22.250 barrel and a factory barrel from them, too. They are simply not accurate with bullets over 45 grains. I’ve tried dozens of reload combinations with no luck.

325 grain gc cast at 18-22 hardness is a great 444 marlin rifle bullet. These need to be pushed fast as possible to get good accuracy. I get 2500 fps plus from my 26" encore!

I have 7 MGM barrels for T/C Encores & Contenders, both rifle and pistol. It's great to be able to custom order exactly what you want and know it's going to shoot great.

The only firearms training i have is threw the service and it wasnt much as i was in the Navy lol So when it came to firearms we just had to qualify with a 22LR caliber AR and 1911 when i was in. It was an M4 carbine of the 80s lol We only had minimal training when it came to shooting it self, but had plenty of firarms safety training. With my swim test the seals wanted me but i quickly said no thank you sir i am not crazy enough for that! LOL i was scared enough going in at ,Just days after my 18th birthday ,going into the regula Navy! LOL In any case i loved that part of the training the most as i have always loved firearms! but never got the chance to learn much about that. Taking this or that handgun or rifle apart to clean ,yes, but not much else. I have since educated my self on building ARs and other bolt guns. But im very far from any kind of expert! Right now im playing a sponge so i can learn all i can to make this hobby even more fun and so i can better defend my self ,or family if i ever have too!?! So i subbed your channel as i think it will teach me a lot! Thanks

I am trying to get started in long range and 3gun shoots at 59yrs old lol so im guessing ill have to start in the seniors shoots? although i wanted to start this many years ago ,i have 4kids and now three grandbabies so im getting a late start :>/ hehe any suggestion on a good trap door caliber as well as one for an AR in the 3gun? thanks

Well i have a Marlin 1895 Rifle chambered in the 45/70 and i was surprised to see it was the slowest round out of all of these? I didnt expect it to be in the t op two but still. What would you suggest out of the 444Marlin and 450BM? im trying to decide what caliber to buy a single shot rifle in for target shooting? I really like the throw back shoots with trap door and other older rifles best. but they didnt have those other calibers back then! LOL

Had a 22-250 in encore, it shot ok. Had a .243 pistol barrel it shot great. I still have my Muzzleloader, it shoots great. I have a .204, tack driver. Note: some of these barrels have a counterclockwise twist does anyone know why. My 243 pistol and my 22-250 were like that. My Muzzleloader, 308 and 204 are clockwise. 🤔
