@oilfarmer706

There is a guage on the front of the baler to let you know how full the bale is, there is another guage to let you know where your twine is at on the bale when wrapping it. The only thing on the tractor is a control box with a 3 position momentary switch to run your twine back and forth (electric tie baler) and a buzzer to let you know when the bale is full. How’s the parts availability on these? Also, could you give me an idea of things to look for when buying an 853? Like I said before in my other comment all I’ve ran is belt balers. I’ve got no clue what I’m looking at here 😂
@oilfarmer706
@oilfarmer706 Ай бұрын
Parts seem to be readily available. My baler hasn't asked for much, so I really don't have to go looking for parts often. I'd say the big things to watch out for would be apron chain wear, and dry rot on the air bags.
@nalley6815

@@oilfarmer706 gotcha! Hoping to pick this one up I saw on marketplace. I was surprised at how good of a bale it makes. I know the new holland chain rollers before this one they made a pretty shitty bale so I figured these did too. I was wrong!!
@nalley6815
@nalley6815 Ай бұрын
There’s an 853 on marketplace for 1450. I’ve only had and ran “newer” belt balers. I’m not doing custom anymore because it’s more trouble than it’s worth. Just doing my own hay these days. Thought it might be nice to get a chain baler so I don’t have to worry about screwing with belts anymore. If I flip a belt 1 more time I’m pulling out a lighter 😂
@oilfarmer706

I've never ran a belt baler. They seem to make good looking bales though. Other than bending a bar when it picked up a tree branch, I've never had any issues with the 853. Thanks for watching!

Many of the suspension and brake parts are available through aftermarket manufacturers like (Automann, Atro, Euclid, Dayton) Just have to find a truck parts store near you that stocks those brands. Very cool old rig 😎 surprised it only has a 350 in it .... I am assuming the red button on the gear stick is for the 2 speed axle ?? I drove a lot of coaches in my younger days that had 2 speed rear axles, great fun to drive.. something a lot of people wouldn't know anything about nowadays .... and your skid loader operating is very good too, nice and smooth 👍.... cheers for the video, always enjoyable

Thanks. Yep it is a 2 speed rear. The 350 runs good but is very underpowered for the size truck. At one point that truck was road worthy. It would fall on its face as soon as it seen a hill with 7 ton of stone in the bed. Thanks for watching!
