I don’t get the hate with this arc, it’s in between two serious arcs but it’s just dumb fun. One piece isn’t all serious and it’s strange that fans of such a wacky show can’t see it with long ring

I was completely prepared for a "it was all a dream" thing happening. And king Magnifico actually asked someone to see the future. And this was it. Then trying to change his future. He makes asha evil.

On my rewatch with my friends we skipped it. 😁 It is too long for what it is, so i just told him what happened.

I think the point of the film was to not take or grant peoples wishes, and to let them achieve their wishes on their own, but they failed to make that point

We were robbed of an good story when they decided against making her the daughter of the king and Queen and they were the bad guys. We were robbed of a villan couple and a story thatcwould have made sense for the fairy godmother

In a way, Sabino got his wish in the beginning without Magnifico lifting a finger. He wanted to inspire the next generation. His 100th birthday “inspired” Asha to apply for an apprenticeship to persuade Magnifico into granting it. And when he wouldn’t, she obtains magical power, “inspires” her friends and the queen into creating a coup, and he ends up imprisoned forever. Sabine’s wish is the perfect example why Magnifico so was wary of vague wishes, because that wish could disrupt the kingdom. And it absolutely did! But Sabine gets to play his music at the end so it was worth it, right? There’s many ways to interpret Wish, but not because it’s a well written movie, that’s for sure.

EPILOGUE: The kingdom was invaded and conquered within a couple years. Turns out, their wish-granting master wizard overlord was also their main line of defense against hostile neighbors.

The plot fuck-up is not that the character who refused to fulfill all the wishes was made into a villain. It's that most of the wishes were absolutely harmless and could be fulfilled without magic. But at the same time, we were not told the reasons for his refusal, or the details of his past. And in the end, the main character, having received the power to fulfill any wishes without consequences, still did not do it. Giving people the opportunity to fulfill their wishes on their own. The plot is just shitty, that's all.

I’m currently watching water 7 and it’s my favorite arc so far. Amazing. With that being said, if this is the BEST One Piece has to offer, I never wanna hear this anime in discussion with Naruto ever again. That is all

I feel like they were trying to equate “consequence making magical wishes” with like, capitalism or something, like with the guy “controlling” it all The only consequences of capitalism are everyone has money if they want more money. Right now the analogy fits better with what we have - a secret deep-state government where “experts” control peons and work harder to make sure there are super high barriers to entry unless you’re rich (again the solution to this is free-market capitalism, communism just sanctifies people with too much power by giving them all the money) Lastly these are crazy wishes that money can’t buy in the real world. Like in the real world you can buy some eggs or chickens, raise them, auction them, get money. It’s that easy. Deep states and communism make that practice illegal.

I read through the Skypeia arc as a middle schooler, and though I didn’t understand any of the intricacies and depth of the story and character, I never found it to be a drag, and even I noticed that stuff it introduced was present in subsequent arcs.
