If your arm or wrist is tired , you have to stop? You not picking accurate this usually happens playing fast, especially fast. The reason fast players can play fast is they’ve worked at it , and found what works best for them.

There’s nothing wrong with warming up, you think professional sports players just go out there at play without doing a few drills or plays first?

Honestly say I've watched hundreds of videos on this kind of thing and your videos are some of the best. A lot of videos will just say things like "play a chromatic scale to a click and gradually increase the tempo". What you do (and not many others do) is actually break down the mechanics. Im only starting out with your videos. I never realized how weak my fretting hand actually was as I felt i could move it around the fretboard what I thought was a decent speed. I realized my right hand was much faster and more accurate than my left,so im going through your videos to try and fix it,wish me luck 🙃

You suck. Shouldn’t be giving any advice on guitar. Maybe anything. Listen. The only thing you should be focused on is how it sounds, not how fast you are. That’s irrelevant. And I’m a blazing fast Player. Listen to Andy Timmons. He’s fast, but rarely plays that way.

After watching these series of videos I've learned that I've been playing wrong for the last 25 years. I never learned the correct techniques, and I never did exercises. I just tried to play whatever I heard as fast as I could thinking that it'll eventually happen over time. It never happened and now I have a ton of bad habits and can't play any fast songs. Depressing.

My movement is similar as the one you've shown, i felt it more natural and i kept using it..after 20 years of playing i must say that it is still giving me some troubles when i need to control each single note i pick..it's like aiming from long distance with an automatic rifle with a strong recoil xD How you solved that?

Ben, your inclusion of Timo Tolkki made me think: I would love your take on "Mr. Fastfinger" Mika Tyyskä. I miss his old Flash plugin site. Lots of great exercises and licks on there. I think it went away after Flash stopped being commonly supported.

This 100% dead on the money. Working on my legato and timing with my fretting hand has improved everything. My picking hand is fast, fluid, and locked in, but my fretting hand still needs lots of work.

I've been practicing legato with my thumb behind the neck, which feels so foreign to me because I'm self taught and played the other way for over 20 years. I can definitely feel soreness which leads me to wonder if I'm just working out unused muscles or if I'm doing something wrong and causing more harm than good.
