I’m assuming you’re referencing “Megalopolis” when you say disastrous film and I think you’re out of line by making that comment. Coppola has an understanding of film and cinema arguably more than any one alive so to be labeled a “disastrous film” by someone who doesn’t have the artillery of insight is a little disrespectful.

Yeah, why would anyone pay like $30 to watch the 3rd remake of a 40-year-old movie when we can go online and get original content for free?

I'm definitely on the right track of what I'm looking for with this video. But on a much smaller scale. So here's the scenario. I do nails and I take photos and sometimes videos of my own hands. However, I am not able to hold my camera and move it around my hands in a circular motion while also having both of my hands in the video. How would I accomplish that. Is there a small half circle device on a track that would move with power so that it would move at a consistent speed that Is also also no bigger than a dinner placemat. And hold the phone hypothetically.

Its because the majority of films produced these days are remakes or knock offs of old ideas. Rarely does something new come out and people arent willing ro spend a ridiculous amount of money to watch it in a theatre when everything is so expensive.

Excellent, and quickly hit all of your key points, thank you so much! I agree with a lot of the comments, Nolan is actually under-rated. I think that his impact on film and the world will be studied forever; his work is so self-aware that it helped me heal after an incredibly traumatic life. Don't forget WESTWORLD... and the key to getting out of the maze...

Much too expensive, picture looks OK and the casing is similar to a BlackMagic 6k. Better to go for the Sony fx3 or BlackMagic for a few thousand euros less.

If the movement of the camera becomes the focus rather than the action of the movie the cinematography has failed. Whoever thought moving the camera around helped rather than hurt does not know what they are doing.

Way to promotes incorrect lighting stand use. This is dangerous. The long leg of the stand should be under the weight. Not how you have it here multiple times.

Auto focus is great if you want to focus on ppls faces. It's completely TRASH when you need Macro shots or you're taking pictures complex patterns, and the camera has NO IDEA what to focus on.

Just to add, in Slow Horses, a BBC drama here in the UK starring Gary Oldman, there were scenes between two people on a bench along a canal and they would shoot both sides of the bench. Face on to them and OTS and behind the bench OTS. Here's the link to the scene from Slow Horses. I can't find a longer version of that scene but at the end of the clip you see their jump over the 180 to get a shot from behind the bench. Watching this scene a few months ago came to mind when I watched your video just now where you were wanting both girls to be back lit.

For the scene at the end where they're sat on the bed, could you not have shot from on the bed, aiming at the window? Just a thought as you could get your back lighting then... Great video though, very insightful

That angle is called 'French Overs' and it would have been possible but there wasn't room. I could have moved the bed out and shot from behind it but was rushed for time. Good observation!

@Crimsonengine I realize this video is 7 years old... but I came back to this just because I specifically remember how remarkable the image was. It is STILL probably one of the sharpest, most detailed images I've seen on YT. 2 quick questions: Do you recall what lens you used here? Do you recall your export settings?

Ive seen one of these walls in a studio in my area. Ive never filmed with one. Looks interesting. The actors in the scene were not looking sweaty and hot, so thats a big distraction along with no real wide shots due to the edges. It could work if you both had a location and used the wall to get shots you couldnt get on location and hope you could match the lighting. I too would love to see the fight scene edit. Thanks!
