Dam. Have to subscribe and support a fisho after seeing that lot. Wow, big Mako, real nasty they are, beautiful animals on the one hand, terrible on the other. I was wondering at what point you were gonna stop winding in the flying two hundred pound razor machine and get as far away from it as possible. Cool watching the fishermans dilemma, do I let it go or do I kill it. When you are that conflicted it is always the right call to let em go. I have kept a Kingfish that I was unsure about keeping, felt kinda sad when I got home with it, but having some actual proof to show my doubting missus won out - it was my first one you see and she had been giving me crap for a while about my tales of being busted off etc. Anyway I went on a ramble there, keep it up, these videos are great, I have been working my way through them, I used to live in Pukerua bay.

If you happen to know anyone who ties their own trout fishing flies, they may like some of those more colourful feathers. Just an idea to help using up more to this Paradise duck/goose. Enjoyed watching your process. Any idea why the meat from these always cooks up so dark?
@FamilyKitchenwithMark11 ай бұрын
Hey Trevor, thanks for that idea. Feathers were everywhere for a few days. The meat of wild ducks is quite a bit darker due to their diet. Some people slow-cook wild ducks but I found these quite tender. Lot of difference between wild and farmed.

Hi mark, Was out off Petone 2 weeks ago and caught a couple Ratty Kingys and a whole bunch of good sized kahawai close to Matiu Island some pretty good fishing out in welly harbor surprised me to see some Kingys. This is great advice for people starting out in the sport/hobby. Thanks to your channel and a couple other kiwi Kayak fishermen here on KZbin It made me start out a year ago and have never looked back just brought my second Kayak. Such a thrill catching fish on Kayaks and so much more rewarding than your typical boat trip. Love the content and always look forward to seeing a new video from you cheers mate.

was told awhile ago when pulling the anchor in a rush to just throw the line out the back and wind it up once you have the anchor on board
@FamilyKitchenwithMark Жыл бұрын
That is a really good idea and makes total sense. Ive been in those situations when the weather changes and I've been desperate to get the anchor on board. Thanks Andrew 😁
@AndrewH-NZ Жыл бұрын
@@FamilyKitchenwithMark having the anchor line throw out the back stops any tangles while it's floating in the water instead of a bunch of line on the kayak/lap - which can be dangerous
