The last 15/70 film I saw.

I remember watching the movie and thinking those rats looked a little too chubby and well-groomed to be plague rats ;)

It's time for studios to make an effort again. With effects like those found in Dead Man's Chest (2006) and Rogue One (2016), we ought to expect a glorious 2026, but it often feels like we're headed back to 2000.

Oops... totally my bad. I was looking forward to watching The Substance now i spoiled myself on it a bit. Eh, probably more likely to getting around to watching it now! Oddity wasn't even on my radar but it is now!

The whole idea of using IR for moonlight has no basis in the sensitivity of the cones. During noon and night we experience mesoptic and scotopic vision, for mesoptic the long wavelength sensitivity is lost first, and in scotopic we actually gain sensitivity to UV light, not IR.

To be honest, Eggers has vision but he's a wannabe, who always does things stylistically yet missed the essence.

i SAW THIS AWESOME FLICK 3 TIMES. i AM CLOSE TO 79 YEARS OF AGE. mORE THAN A FEW OF dYLANS SONGS CHANGED MY THINKING AND DECISIONS DURING THESE INTENSE TIMES..tHANK YOU TO ALL THAT HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH a cOMPLETE uNKNOWN.

I’m halfway through watching this film, and this video adds an extra layer of appreciation for how it was made. Nice work!

I actually enjoyed Alien 3. But I also like Star Trek V so what the hell do I know.

I was cast in this film. You're missing one of the best locations. Invalidovna in Prague. An abandoned hospital. It was the hospital - spooky as hell. Gave me the creeps.

From just an accounting perspective, I wonder if all of these effects were still cheaper than using actual film. I know digital filming helps simplify principle photography and is cheaper in and of itself. But that is a lot of effort to replicate it the back end. Oh well. The movie does look good.

6:50 megalopolis shooting its scene on cameras that genuinely look like 2010s TV (maybe sharpness aside) doesn't help either. That scene just looks like stock footage with the most generic possible lens flare elements added.

The model of Ian Holm's looked really good in the movie, when there was no talking involved. Otherwise, I can't believe how bad the effects are when the character is animated/speaking
