Ridley Scott has lost quite a few loved ones in recent years, two brothers I think, and it seems to have affected how he's approached Films in his later years. Look at Covenant, The Last Duel and now Gladiator 2.

i also think some people forget that in the context of horror movies especially, there’s an emphasis on practical effects and sets. unlike superhero or action films, where CGI is prevalent and v normalized

No mention anywhere of the Legendary Oliver Reed... Who walked off with every scene he was in and Russell crowe disappeared into the background. '' 'The line You sold me a QUEER giraffe is iconic... A fitting last film for the Amazing Reed..

Calamity Coyote from Tiny Toons sued Acme but lost can't remember which episode specifically. But he used the catapult as an example of acme's faulty products, demonstrating in court how it failed to do what it was advertised. The acme lawyer(maybe owner)? A fat rat (literally) claimed its because he wasn't using the product correctly and then preceded to demonstrate the same catapult successfully (using Calamity as live ammunition of course), Calamity lost the case.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. The legendary craft is evident, and I found it better than the tralers suggested. My only gripe was the multi-camera approach robs the movie from individual power. The whole movie feels like it was shot with the same set up, the close ups don't isolate.

Scott does not still have it. It is impressive he is still going at his age though, just the quality and ingenuity of his films have clearly declined.

@@footballfandom7904 I've honestly wondered if it's the general pace of his film output. It just seems like a lot. I like the Last Duel film, which I know many didn't, but really his last best film was The Martian. I wish he would do more Sci Fi, I feel like he's more at home there

Ridley Scott proves that he still is a MasterClass at film making.. This film was a breath of fresh air.. I was pleasantly surprised at how good this movie was.. Did anyone catch the Alien Romulus nod , in one scene a statue is shown of a Wolf breast feeding 2 infant children, Lucius comments on the statue.. Romulus and Remus the founders of Rome..

Hi, your videos are great and really informative (I especially enjoyed the one about Kubricks Napoleon), but I’d appreciate if you’d stop using AI to visualize things, but if you’re reluctant to do that at least make the disclaimer bigger. AI art is not the future.
