Thanks for watching! What place does this movie has for you compared to the other TMNT movies?

@@TheTurtleNexus its low on the totem pole, but i dont hate it like allot of people do, its still an entertaining flick. The second one is above it tho, that was allot better.
@benmalsky98344 ай бұрын
@@TheTurtleNexus Obviously the 1990 film, the 2007 film and Mutant Mayhem are better, but I do like this movie and Out of the Shadows for what they are. The 2014 does contain many elements and parts that I think are very good like the pizza interrogation scene, the hill battle, the elevator scene and the end credits song, but I do think that having Eric Sachs and Shredder be one and the same would have made it way better. And contrary to what other people say, I do actually quite like Out of the Shadows. Yes it’s very goofy, but it does a good job in feeling like an extended episode of the 80s cartoon and having it actually focus on the turtles’ inner conflict made it an improvement over the 2014 film.

To be honest i like this version of the TMNT as well as it's sequel. I'm aware that both movies have many plotholes, but they were truly satisfying for my inner child. Especially when Bebop and Rocksteady appeared in "Out of the Shadows". Yes, the movie could've been a lot better, but it also could've been worse. It was just fan service. And i really appreciate the CGI-visualization, although i prefer smaller Turtles. 😂

I hated how much these two movies had an utter disdain for the TMNT source material. And on top of that, it ended any hope for a live action movie until the Last Ronin movie was announced. After Ronin, I hope they make a proper Turtles reboot that’s a blend of the mature grittiness of the Mirage comics/1990 movie and the humor and wacky characters of the other iterations.
@benmalsky98344 ай бұрын
@@OwenYoung-yv1vc Really, I thought Out of the Shadows really knew how to appeal to the fans of the original cartoon.
@benmalsky98344 ай бұрын
I will say with the 2014 film, I think it would have been better if they kept the idea of Shredder and Eric Sachs being the same character. It would have made things much more interesting and a unique take on Shredder we haven’t seen before. It also would have made added to the emotional baggage of the Turtles and April wanting to take him down, especially when it’s revealed that he killed April’s father.

I personally think if they had stuck with William Fichtner being the Shredder it would’ve made for a better antagonist. The movie establishes that Eric Sax was raised by Oroku Saki in Japan, then came to America and built his empire. In theory, it could have worked if it was developed as Eric Sax being the “protege” Shredder with the fancy robot Shredder suit, however once he is defeated Oroku Saki pulls a “fine i’ll do it myself” and comes to America to face the Turtles in the sequel or something. This way William Fichtner is still the Shredder whilst not replacing Oroku Saki, and Oroku Saki is presented as the *true* Shredder. Now this is just a theory, I have no way of saying for sure this was the original idea, I have no idea what was filmed before the reshoots.
@Ultriac3014 ай бұрын
Maybe they got the idea from the 2003 animated series in which Season 2 Shredder had always been the real one while the first one had just been inspired and assumed the mantle for himself.

I still think the rewrites/reshoot is the big issue for the movie. I think the movie would’ve been better if they kept Eric Sacks as the Shredder for THIS movie, cause how they shoehorned in the Oroku Saki was a hack job at best.

Personally, I liked these two movies. I know that most people don't like the second one (probably because we didn't get another Shredder vs Turtles fight), but I kinda want to see another one about Kraang returning, but this time, he's Shredder's prisoner and he forces him to upgrade his weapons and armor and in the end the writers could tease a bigger threat coming (perhaps the Triceratons). I feel like these two movies could have been part of a larger franchise.

Personally, I'm not a fan of this movie either. But there's only one reason I don't like it, that Splinter teaches the art of the Ninja through a book. How stupid! It was almost the same reason why I was ready to reject Mutant Mayhem (but then I changed my mind, in the end the animated film was good). Small note. In the scene where Splinter takes out a pizza and shouts "99 Formaggio!" he makes a mistake. Formaggio in Italian is singular. He should have said "99 Formaggi!".

I actually do like the 2010s TMNT films. Yes I know they are not perfect and the 1990 film, the 2007 film & Mutant Mayhem are way better, but they are decent movies in my book, especially Out of the Shadows as I thought they did a good job emulating an episode of the 80s cartoon.

So, there was this South Park episode where they compare the fourth Indiana Jones movie to witnessing a rape. I never really got that joke, as I just couldn't see a movie based on a beloved childhood franchise as ever being _that_ bad. Then the Michael Bay Ninja Turtles movie came out...
