11:02 i have a question. I've seen his other video where in the same cool light+red local color scenario the local color gets desaturated as it travels through the 'gray zone'. In this case it seems like it's not getting desaturated as much. Is it due to the light intensity?

Why does your watercolor look so opaque? It doesn't look watery like I've seen on other watercolor channel

"Hello, I'm a beginner who has recently started learning about painting and coloring. I'm very curious about the key points or techniques to pay attention to when it comes to 'color hiding(Color hiding is a technique where subtle or hidden colors are blended into the main colors to create depth and richness in the artwork.).' I've watched many tutorials, and the people in them seem to apply this coloring technique quite casually. Some of the 'color hiding' looks very pleasing, but more often, the artworks give me a sense of being dazzling and strangely unsettling."

great video! this was very helpful! I have a question though - on the second part would the now cold lighted table and cold light will reflect a colder reflected light? not sure if it was taken care of as well or not the more I look at it

This simplifies what i've been trying to get a mental grasp of for awhile now!! + Huge thanks for the output in resources like this, I've probably seen every video on your channel at this point + paid for a few guides and they've been very effective. I also bought the latest book of yours with the plan of paying it forward to a local small town library once I feel i've truly retained all of the information from it.

You give Rudolph his nose back!!!! The succinct and informative nature of the lesson really helped me to be better understand values, as well as how the colour (hue?) of the light source changes the colours of the values on the object.

Sun rays come to the earth straight...not poking out in every direction like we usually draw. Its the difference between sunlight maybe moon reflections and all man made light sources. Which do flare out like you drew. Its a big technical trick to reproduce the straight lines of sunlight. It's different than any other. The shadows change. Plus all the stuff you said. Peace all

Super valuable information!! I love the simplicity of these lessons. Also something that might help somebody, it doesn't matter what brush you are using, these principles of light and shadow shapes and colors still apply. So if painting using only a hard round brush with no opacity helps you to more clearly see the shapes between the light and shadow family, do that. I have had trouble in the past with using fancy brushes at the beginning because I just randomly made strokes, and lost the clarity. So using super clear and simple brushes at the start helped me understand better what I was doing. Then when you get the fundamentals, you can use the fancier brushes. Thanks Marco for being the best teacher!
