I love that I can come back to this and walk in my living room. Our air is bad today, full of smoke, and I still got my morning walk in and some motivation along with it.

I quit smoking 9 months ago, and am really struggling with weight gain, super low self-esteem, and the depression that comes from all of it. These 1 mile walk-and-talks are perfect for the days I just. can't. do. anything. 15 minutes later and I feel sooo much better, mentally, physically, and spiritually. I just tell myself I just have to WALK for 15 minutes. I can always do that, so when it's ALL I can do, I still do it, and feel accomplished. Thanks!

I love your quotes such as "Something is Better Than Nothing, The Greatest Wealth is Your Health, Be Kind to Your Body-It's the Only Place You Have To Live". Also start with small steps, even 10 minutes a day and work up a little at a time until it becomes a habit. I exercise first thing in the morning as then it becomes a habit. If you eat too much or can't exercise one day, then get back on track the next day - it's only one day!

I've just recently discovered your channel and this was exactly what I needed this morning because I did NOT feel like working out. I feel like I need to do it again just so I can write down all those amazing quotes! The biggest revelation I've had this week is that I can continue a healthy habit/a new creative project/a new business endeavor even if I lack the motivation some days and that I'm being way too hard on myself to expect I'll feel motivated EVERY day.

Hi Jessica, I have been a big fan for years! I just had foot surgery December 18,2017. At my six week check up I got the OK to do very limited, low impact exercising. Low and behold I found your chair workouts! They have been a life saver. It feels so good to do some type of movement! Thank you for being so versatile and thinking of everything! I have started doing one mile low impact walks and I did your Barefoot Fusion over the weekend. However limited I am at this time, I am grateful to have your videos. It is very difficult to feel motivated after surgery or an injury, but finding your chair workouts made a huge difference. Thank you!

Today has been super hard for me but I am proud how I have reacted to things thanks to you Jessica. Yesterday I was in a car accident (only have minor injuries) and this morning my grandad died. A few months ago I would have gone and brought all the junk food I could find at the supermarket and sit and binge all day. Instead I found healthy snacks to eat when feeling the need, and instead of using injuries as an excuse I did this walk and talk (listening to my bodies cues and only do leg movements). Feeling proud of my achievements and celebrating in these hard times.

I have always had the resistance to workout because I think exercising costs so much time -- the prep, the exercising itself, the cooldown and the cleanup. But I found your indoor power walk sessions so appealing and really takes away a lot of pressure on the thought of spending lots and lots of time. I get to do it whenever I want at home. Thank you Jessica :) I am very motivated by your pep talk "something is better than nothing!"

Something about this reminded me of your "progress, not perfection" walk and talk of some months ago. I'm exercising, yes, to lose weight (or really lose fat) but also to get into shape and ensure I'm healthy as I get older. Okay, as someone in her late 40s, I'm starting my fitness journey later than most, but then I think of two older bodybuilders (one age 71 and the other 83) who didn't start until they were in their 50s and don't feel so bad.

First of all, I love this series and this is exactly what I needed! I hurt my neck in an accident and I am frustrated with myself BC I can't workout like I used to. I almost didn't work out today except my husband encouraged me to! The quote u put about "Don't let what u cannot do interfere with what u can do" was written for me! Because I can't do the hard core or weight workouts, I began to feel like I couldn't do anything! But I can do a power walk or a buns and thighs walk or a walk and talk!! I need to remember that! Another thing I wanted to say is this time of year, or anytime when we need motivation, it is nice to have an accountability partner who can encourage u to keep going and give u grace when u need it. If it weren't for my husband encouraging me, I probably would still be sitting and playing on the internet instead of moving! So finding a like minded person who can help motivate u reach your goals is so helpful! (And these motivational walk and talks really help too! Please keep them coming!!) 😊

First of all, love ya Jessica! Looking forward to anything you upload in the future! So much great truth and motivation in your most recent walk and talk. I have been slowly losing weight for almost two years and I am approaching my 100lb. goal. The biggest thing I have discovered in my journey applies to what you said about enjoying indulgences with balance. I have discovered that many junkie foods I used to love, I don't really miss and when I have a taste, I can't really pinpoint why I used to love it so much. On the flip side, it has really helped me to identify my true indulgences and when to fit them into my life without guilt. That was a big step for me....finding balance and letting go of the all or nothing mentality! Thanks again for being so inspiring!

I love your walk n' talk series!!! I've missed them! This was a great one, and great timing of course. I also have been having a harder time working out with the time change, as I don't normally work out until 5 pm. And then it's colder, so as you said, you just want to curl up under a blanket and watch Netflix! I always keep your mantras in mind though, and don't beat myself up for missing a day here and there. I figure as long as I keep trucking along and don't just give up completely! I have been thinking of trying to do a little workout in the morning before getting ready for work, but that is the hardest for me as I have to wake up normally at 5:15 am, so it's hard to convince myself to wake up half an hour earlier! But perhaps I'll try to just do your 15 minute walk n' talks just to get me up and running while getting more steps in my day! We'll see how it goes! Thanks again, Jessica and Peanut! And I'm loving your new Walk Strong 3 program!!!

Hey Jessica. Just stopping by to say thank you. I had a nasty fall last month and have been in recovery ever since. there were times when I got really bummed out and I did put on some weight but that's okay..Finally at the point where I can do a walk and talk! I'm so proud of myself and so grateful to you for teaching me to really listen to my body and have a balanced view of working out.. Oh and I've said this before but you helped me lose 30 kgs when I was 25. The hardest part of recovery was worrying that I'll put ALL the weight back on but in retrospect I know I'm being silly. There really is no finish line to maintaining a healthy weight is there. But yeah, thanks again.

Hey, Jessica. I've been watching and following your exercise for a long time (since 2013). So far, you're my most favorite fitness figure. The way you talk about health and exercise is completely different. You're focusing on the mind and body, NOT just weight loss and that's what I like about you. You never make me feel as though being fat is a sin or not doing any challenging workout means failure. You make me feel at ease and comfortable with my own body, to the point I no longer care whether or not I'm fat as long as I move and make my body feel cared for. You inspire me to be my better, grateful self. Anyways, have a good one! I hope to see more lesson from you soon. 😀

@JessicaSmithTV. Thanks so much for the early Christmas present! I loved this motivation session. Here are some of the things I think help me stay on track: 1) Forgive yourself! Everyone falls down. Those who succeed get back up. Don’t wallow in what you didn’t do. Pick up and do something positive. 2) Streaks. Try to get a steak if days you do something, anything healthy for yourself. But also, avoid turning a day off into a streak. Obviously if you are sick or injured listen to your body, but try to eat healthy then. 3) Everything in moderation. I don’t tell myself anything is off limits, or then I’ll just want it! But if I say I can have some of it, limit the portions and how frequently I have it, then I can stay on track for the long haul. 4) Turn everything you can into an opportunity to move. Want to binge watch Netflix? Why not walk a mile while doing so? If you walk while watching Jessica, why can’t you walk while watching Stranger Things? Dance while vacuuming or cooking in the kitchen. Do stretches while making the bed. Every little bit helps. Thanks, Jessica for keeping me motivated and on track. Hope these ideas help someone else. - Taz

This year has been tough with a lot of illness in the family, but I try to take one day at a time. I've been on medication that keeps me starving all the time, which doesn't help my weight loss, but I try to focus on eating healthy foods and taking care of my body physically. Also, I hurt my shoulder/back so I can't do overhead movements, but I've found that I can easily adapt all of your workouts for that :) I'm more focused on my overall health right now and letting my body rest and heal. Thankfully, my doctor says that movement is good and will help, as long as I don't overdo it. Thanks for this mile...it reminded me to focus on right now, not the future.

Well that was wonderful Jessica! Thank you so much! I just bought myself a new Fitbit Charge 2 for Christmas, and I am having trouble adjusting to the difference between the step count on it versus the step count on my old Fitbit One. They seem to be worlds apart, in the wrong direction - evidently this is a common problem others have noted. So instead of freaking out about this, I'm trying to embrace it, and just put more steps on! I just completed this at my desk at work, and will now eat my healthy lunch! Thank you again!

You're amazing and inspiring woman, Jessica! I exercise almost every day by your programmes. Please please please, make more barre workout videos, I'm in love with barre and your way of instructing it. I tried almost every of your barre videos, but since I work out at home, and it can easily get kind of boring, new and interesting workouts are the one that keeps me going! I wish all the best to you and Peanut, ofcourse :) Greetings from Croatia!

"What is your Why?" Really great question to keep in mind for focusing in on any goal. Thanks for this series, I'm finding it really helpful when I'm feeling like I'm not up for a regular work-out.

I love Peanut! LOL He's like my Dottie, chubby old sweet dog. I haven't done many of your workouts, Jessica, but this one I will save as a part of my workout collection videos. I really enjoy walking workouts! They're not too hard, but enough to make you sweat and help reach fitness goals!

Thank you Jessica! I didn't feel like a full workout today, but this walk and talk got me moving. I struggle with the all or nothing attitude when it comes to eating and exercise. I'm trying to focus on small steps forward and steady progress instead. Loved this topic. Look forward to more walk and talk sessions.

I love to walk at 64 and try to get out of doors daily. It is 25 below zero windchill in Upstate NY and just not the time to walk. I enjoy your low impact walks and often do two back to back to “get my steps”. It would be great if you would have a two mile walk and talk as well. I live in an apartment but feel I can do these walks anytime without bothering my down stairs neighbors! Thanks. NY Grandma.
