@nildadel9795 I'm glad you got her away from the Western medicine. Western Doctors are drug dealers, and only diagnose, and treat illnesses, they know nothing about prevention and cure. Your Aunt would've lived longer if she ate "some" red meat. Plant based diets require supplementation, because there are things the body needs that CANNOT be obtained by eating plants. You sound like a "follower"? Do some reading of your own.....on BOTH sides of the argument. You need BOTH plants AND meat. Red meat IS NOT the enemy.

A lot of what he teaches is incorrect. You need to listen to a great many people who actually do the research to determine what is accurate. Dr. Grundy engages in click bait. Don't drink a shot of olive oil unless you actually want to ingest 14% saturated saturated fat & be overweight.

He makes the mistake of considering all humans the same. One man's good food is another man's bad food. He ignorres that some people have auto-immune problems and there are 4 different blood types. They all do differently with different foods. Check out "Eat Right for Your Type".

Dr Gundry, I’ve only just started learning all this about our diets being garbage. I just happened upon a KZbin video from Thomas Seyfried, which led me to Robert Lustig & you. While my brain gets lost in all the scientific lingo, I’ve begun catching on. I’m likely one of those people that eat all the wrong things, though, I don’t eat fast food much. I’ve never been much for sweets, maybe a few times a year, as I tend to prefer salty things. While trying to navigate through “what’s healthy and what’s not”, I find myself becoming more distressed. I can’t afford so much of what I’m supposed to eat, and I really don’t like avocados, and am allergic to coconut. I do love a good salad, but I love my tomato’s and cucumbers! Oddly enough, I’ve been eating less bread, which is weird because I love my ham and cheese sandwiches. I tried the low carb wraps, and I did well with that. Are there small steps a person can take to help start toward this healthy eating? I did start taking omega3 with the dha/epa and vitamin D, but I’m overwhelmed with all I’ve learned and how to make it work without ending up in the poorhouse!

Hmm.. start by having cooked millet, sorghum, or basmati white rice or sweet potatoes in your fridge. This all is approved by Gundry. Then make 60% of your meal from the freshly cooked veggies with a lot of oil (olive for example). If you like tomatoes, cucumbers, peel them, deseed them, ideally cook them somehow too, with your veggies. Add small portion of egg, fish to 1-2 of your meals and you are ready for an awesome diet :) Eat 1/4 cup of nuts if you like, eat 30g of chocolate if you like, drink arabica coffee with mct oil and enjoy the life :)

I'm coming late to hear and read Dr. Gundry after seeing him as a guest on a M.D.'s podcast where he spoke on the fact that blue zones include smokers and proceeded to tell why that benefited them. I thought that took nerve and it illicited immediate respect from me. I have a family that suffers from food allergies and sensitivities and we have controlled them all with diet and I've struggled with MSM for decades, having to see "alternative" MDs which the medical community has tried to run out of medicine until the current research is proving they were right about so much, including the gut to brain connection. Interesting about quinoa. I developed T2D before my research began for my children and quinoa will raise my blood sugar immediately to the point that I'm uncomfortable. Maybe the Incas were on to something. And so is Gundry. Thank you.

CHARACTERISTICS Peanuts have a high content of unsaturated fat. Replacing saturated fat with unsaturated fat in the diet helps maintain normal cholesterol levels in the blood. Peanuts also have a high content of vitamin E, thiamin, niacin, folate, iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper and phosphorus. Vitamin E and zinc help protect cells from oxidative stress. Thiamin and niacin contribute to normal energy metabolism, while folate helps to reduce fatigue and exhaustion. Iron contributes to the normal transport of oxygen in the body, while calcium, magnesium and phosphorus help to maintain normal bones and teeth. Peanuts are also a source of protein and vitamin B6 and also have a high content of dietary fibre. Protein contributes to growth in muscle mass, while vitamin B6 contributes to the normal turnover of protein and glycogen. Dietary fiber is beneficial for digestion.

What about anti nutrients in greens. Oxalates also. I got thyroid disease after drinking dark green smoothies every morning for months.

Like our nona's used to say: too much of anything is bad for you. I'm Mediterranean, but, we never eat super dark greens like kale raw (or spinach, etc), not to mention every day or in a smoothie. Tomatoe seeds are loaded with oxalate and considering how much italians eat it, they should all be sick, but they aren't. My husband had to eliminate oxalates for a period becouse he had some tiny kidney stones, but the issue was not about him having too much oxalates, rather he drinks too little water, so his kidneys don't "wash" properly and residues accumulate (oxalate, calcium, urine residue...).

Dear Dr Gundry, I have been following you for years and I am in terrific shape, thank you! Sadly, I have fell upon tough economic times and no longer buy avocados (they are $9 for half a dozen at Costco, and that's the best price I have seen). Is there a close "second best"?? Thanks again!!

Any thoughts on Trans-vaccenic acid (TVA) which helps prevent cancer and is found mainly in meat and dairy? Looks like ab 4g per serving in Lindnt dark choc 85% cacao. Added sugar is bad news and too much will damage mitochondria, right?

Thank you Dr Gundry. I’m not to the point to just have one when it comes to chocolate. It’s from my past carb/sugar addiction. My question has to do with what I’ve been told the detrimental affects of oxalates in certain foods, such as almonds, chard, spinach, and even chocolate. Is this a concern. Thank you,

The benefit of bitter greens suggests that so many of the native flowering plants we grow in the shorelines of our lakes and ponds are also very healthy for humans. This calls for more investigation, but we do know native plants have quite a few benefits. That bitter taste accumulates as the plants age, but one species we use which is called seep monkeyflower is not only beautiful , but very tasty! Eat your healthy landscape???

Dear Video Creator, Thank you for your informative video about healthy eating and the role of various foods. I would like to highlight some points specifically regarding Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. Your recommendations on nuts like walnuts and avocados are very valuable as these foods are good sources of Omega-3 fatty acids and can help improve the Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio in our diet. This is particularly relevant as the typical Western diet often has an imbalanced ratio that can lead to inflammation and other health issues. While MCT oil and olive oil offer many health benefits, it might be helpful to educate viewers that they are not significant sources of Omega-3 fatty acids. In this context, emphasizing the importance of a diverse diet rich in various sources of Omega-3 fatty acids could be beneficial. These sources include fatty fish, flaxseeds, and chia seeds. In conclusion, I want to highlight the importance of a balanced diet where both Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids are in a healthy ratio. This can reduce the risk of chronic diseases and contribute to overall health. Thank you again for your commitment to sharing valuable nutritional information. Sincerely,
@Amanda_downunder

I don't know if Dr Gundry meant "having fresh fruit with a low fat, sweetened or in any other way adulterated yogurt", or if having fresh fruit with any normal yoghurt would undo the goodness og the fruit just by eating them at the same time. I eat almost everyday a small portion of natural greek yogurt, and now I wonder if I should not put fresh fruit in it. Have I been doing it wrong all my life?
