Went from A1C of 5.7 to 5.3 in just five weeks: 5 pounds of weight loss, more sleep, carb reduction, sustained my already good exercise program, some cinnamon, ACV, Black Seed Oil, and Chromium picolinate -- not sure which ones helped and which ones did not but I'll take it.

I'm glad to hear that. My PCP right away wanted to put me on metformin because my A1c is 6.4 (which was the same 6 months ago). On my own I changed what I eat and my cholesterol went down 20 points. I told her no way am I taking metformin when I'm not diabetic. I know what I need to do to get my A1c down and it is not with medication. Right away these doctors support big pharm, instead of the holistic way.

@Spirit Boy I am far from a Dr but when My kidney function dropped ( GFR ) to 33 now back up to 45, they had taken me off Lisinipril and metformin. I am diabetic so they put me on Farxiga which is for blood sugar and to prevent kidney function loss and Trulicity a once a week shot. Apparently the Metformin and Lisinopril can reduce kidney function. My Nephrologist suggested the Lisinopril again after I was stable. He said the Kidney function would drop short term then come up. I was to paranoid about it dropping more and he said I did not have to. The Blood Pressure Med I take now is Metoprolol 2x a day. 100 mg AM 50 MG PM. Your kidney function GFR can vary depending on foods and hydration. You have to get more blood work. Sometimes Kidney function will jump back after its " Healed" up. In my case the damage to Nephrons is somewhat permanent.

is that true that your A1c is 4.3%? that equals average glucose of 77mg/dL, what are your fasting and prandial glucose?. Most normal non-diabetic people have an A1c of 5.3% equal to the average glucose of 105, with fasting glucose around 70 and prandial around 120

@therealgumdrop
@therealgumdrop 2 жыл бұрын
@@Preteahumblegirl Sure. A typical day goes like this: Breakfast: two slices of whole grain bread or oats, 1.5 - 2 eggs (sunny side up or scrambled) and 2 servings of vegetables (either fresh salad [cucumber, tomato and chopped onion], or cooked vegetables such as okra, bitter gourd, cooked pumpkin or bodi [I think it's also called yardlong beans]) and coffee. Lunch: Chicken or Fish and vegetables, sometimes with bean noodles with water or diet coke. Dinner: Tuna salad, one or two slices of whole grain bread, similar vegetables to breakfast with tea, water, or diet coke (trying to cut back on diet coke lol) 1 - 2 snacks a day: Mixed Nuts, occasionally a sugar free cookie I found which I love, or 4 blocks or dark chocolate. Occasionally: 1 or 2 meals a week - fried chicken replaces (I really love fried chicken, but I do my best to avoid fries.) I usually wake up with a blood glucose between 85 and 98 and my post-prandial sugar is rarely over 120 -- usually it's between 95 and 115. I also try to go for walks on mornings OR do aerobic videos from KZbin 4-5 times a week.

I was on metformin however didn't do so well with me and wasn't controlling my glucose levels Was switched to Januvia and Diamicron... I've been exercising which I realize have a positive effect.. it helps with my glucose control... Also Try to eat as should.. Before diagnosed in 2019 at 36 yrs old I was active and ate well However was really surprised when I started feeling dizzy and lethargic at work.. almost fainted .. had lab tests done which confirmed same.. hba1c was 8.5 On the contrast my dad had diabetes, my grandmother as well... a family history I would say.. they r both deceased now I'm trying to keep healthy and positive tho and ur videos keep me informed and motivated . Your advice, which I’ve been following for a while now, is invaluable…AND, so are your Super Berberine and daily vitamin supplements! Though a “heath nut” most of my adult life, I still had the early onset of pre-diabetes at age 60, and my doc put me directly onto Victoza and Metformin! Yikes! I had no advice about changing from my vegetarian diet with lots of whole grains (brown rice, my own home baked breads, cooked beans, etc.) plenty of fresh fruits and sweet veggies like sweet potatoes, etc.-ALL high carb, low fat! Now, though, with your great advice, and that of another M.D., (Dr. Ken Berry, advocate of the Keto diet I’ve closely followed for 2 yrs.), I keep my carbs under 20gm/day, but am still on glimepiride, even though my sugar numbers are close to normal. 😕 BUT…your advice about the high importance of regular EXERCISE just now, has finally given me the extra motivation I’ve been needing to be able to eliminate the Rx that causes lots of the IBS issues that still give me so much trouble. Telling you “THANK YOU !”doesn’t really express how much I appreciate your ongoing, generous advice, Doctor, and the excellent supplemental products you offer that are enhancing my Keto lifestyle results! 🎉🥰

Di a betes is tricky or at least the insulin is . It makes me worse . Going to doctor Monday my body cannot tolerate it anymore . I eat right but my body is definitely talking to me . Autonomic neuropathy is definitely the culprit and having a swollen esophagus makes the raging worse . In the meantime I'm ordering , need my life back fast . I have children and granddaughters to be here for 😁💖

I read that there is a difference between glycemic index and glycemic load. Oats have a low glycemic index but has a high glycemic load, so I no longer eat oats. I also checked my blood glucose after eating oats 1 hr after and it was high.

Last Christmas they told me I was diabetic suddenly. 7.9 a1c. After trying to get in to see a doctor and having no luck because I had one of these horrible advantage Care insurance companies for my medicare I dumped them as of April 1st. Went to see a neurosurgeon about my back and he said stop eating grain and forget about starting insulin. That was it. He was a Sikh and they're all about doing for other people. The guy was right because it's only been a week or so and I'm feeling better and before that I was like an addict with the breads and wheat products. When you stop eating them you stop craving it. Not taking this doctor's supplements but you can find all of the ingredients online in bulk cheap which is what I've done. Once you modify your eating habits you'll realize you don't need all this junk and chemicals that the industry has been dumping on us. It's deliberate because a sick population is a population you can profit from. Started eating just plain meat mostly pork and some chicken and kimchi of all things. Then the apple cider vinegar, something called inulin prebiotic fiber which reacts with the pickled vegetables like kimchi, just regular psyllium fiber to replace the grains and the occasional slippery elm extract. Before this my guts were bubbling constantly in my belly was huge. Now it's beginning to go away and nasty as it is my bowel movements are normalizing. If you're constantly sick these are the kind of things you want to hear from other people. I'm also taking CoQ10 zinc vitamin B12 and biotin. Looking at labels I stopped eating anything that had grains and I don't drink beer anymore. Olive oil and never any vegetable oils which are horrible for you. Started eating walnuts and almonds which are recommended and that basically takes care of your average snack craving. Occasional vitamin A and vitamin c and that's about it. I'm actually losing weight without doing anything because my spine is a mess and I'm facing surgery but now I'm realizing non invasive surgery they can do it without cutting me open. Just turned 65 last year and here's hoping for another 20 years.

Thank you for these frank, hilarious videos, jolly attitude & great info. I went from insulin resistance & chronic hunger & daily doses of chocolate, cereal & popcorn, to 18 hr intermittent fasts, no hunger, no need for chocolate or much carbs. Brazil nuts, veggies, sardines, brewer's yeast, olive oil, black walnuts from nearby trees. I think it's less costly, not more. Better health too. My mom died after yrs of Alzheimers ("type 3 diabetes"). That's enough heartbreak. No cookie is worth it.

Do you have black walnuts growing on your property? You're sitting on a gold mine. Black walnut is highly prized by woodworking and builders. Where your average tree might be worth a couple of thousand dollars a black walnut tree can be worth $20,000.

@@sadiabaig2399 yes. It's great tasting & packed with b vitas & so far, low cost. I heard you should go for nonfortified. It's great on salad, steamed cabbage, a p.b. "sandwich" (i use a wedge of lettuce v bread), stew, bone broth, etc. I think they use it as vegamite or something in UK.

Great video! thank you, Dr. Ergin, for the great advice and "Can do" attitude. I was diagnosed last year with T2D and I working on getting off Metformin. I do have a question, though -does Lymphedema contribute to insulin resistance? I have lymphedema in both legs from cancer treatment 5 years ago. I know that it is not the cause of the diabetes (i did that to myself), but I'm wondering if it's not helping? Thank you in advance!

Thanks! Doesn't help when I haven't had ice cream for 3 months and I reeaallly want some butter pecan. Oh well I just have to ask myself "is it worth a toe"? Because I knew someone who had T2D and didn't take care and lost a couple of toes. Just thinking of that often puts me straight (if a bit miserable)
@SugarMDs

Indirectly it can. It’s is probably very hard to move with lymphedema which worsens the insulin resistance

Using multivitamins almost kill me by pulling BG down to almost zero.

I have read that even meat will convert some protein to glucose. I am not sure. I am also having the same type of issues. My A1C went up to 6.4 and I think it is because I am on anastrazole (due to cancer). I don’t eat flour, sugar products, or white rice. Still hard to figure out why it is so high unless it is the blueberries I eat to try to have some antioxidants.
