A very real moment by a guy who played a character. That one had me close to tearing up...he tried. What else can you say? The first Silva sonnen fight was the first UFC event I saw. I went with a buddy to a small pub, the fight was completely nuts. Chael somersaulting cartwheeling out the foot grab, or totally reversing a Silva mount into a spear into the mat, the ear clapping and everything. My bud said hed never seen Silva so dominated, but it looked to me like he was holding on and letting chael wear down. Then Silva fell to start the 5th and I thought so much for that. Only for chael to get caught at the very last. I think chael was at his very best that night, but like the Jon Jones fight he ends up a heartbeat away from the gold.

I'm brazilian and I always cheered for Chael (specially against Anderson Silva). The majority of my friends (and the average brazilians) didn't get his irony and took all trash talk for serious. But when Chael did TUF Brazil, everyone could see what he really is. And one time, at a brazilian TV show, a reporter tried to make a joke giving a brazilian flag to him. Look what he said and done about it (3:09): kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqXCmIWPmttmr8k In another TUF edition we can see that Chael really cares about his coachees kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJase5yiesmJh7s

Ian mcall.. I've been watching fight since I was super young. A huge fan of MMA and combat sports Alike, I liked him because he was my weight class. I met him in LA at a Lifetime fitness. I was leaving from a short trip for work , getting a workout before I hit the road. I saw the man walking by. I fan girled in my head. I nervously said "uncle creepy? Right?" . After small talk. He invited me to join a class he was teaching at said gym. I had to respectfully decline because I was technically on the clock. With that being said, Ian is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I wish I could have seen him get his chance in the UFC. So knowing a little more about why he stopped, makes me appreciate the man even more for just giving me a second of his time. Wish I could've stayed for that class. Ian,if you happen to ever read this. Thanks alot. As a true fan of yours and MMA.
