Having now played Deltarune, looking back on this video and referring to Suzy like this gives me the idea that Undertale has a version of Susie named Suzy, in the same way that this world's version of Kris is Frisk. So, somewhere out there is a purple dinosaur monster we never encounter. Maybe in the central monster city. One thing I'll repeat that someone else here has is that the actual player being a character in the world is probably legitimate to say, given how much the 4th wall is broken, specifically when Chara talks to directly to us. You might say that the whole game is one big power struggle where the people who are really in control of the world's fate is the Player, Chara and Gaster. Chara being destructive, Gaster wanting to preserve monster kind from the outside, and the Player being the wildcard that can either set Chara loose, or go through with Gaster's hopes of us righting the wrongs of the world.

I always thought that the friend with the creepy smile was flowey. One reason being flowey is able to move around where ever he wants and also if you sometimes go backwards while playing you might see flowey because he follows you. So maybe they saw flowey following us and thought he was our friend.

It's hard to say, he's a scientist. With the little we know about him, he does seem like the type that would sacrifice "anything" for curiousity. We can't even be sure what his role is, we might never, though i do think with Deltarunes full release, we will difenitly get to know about him more. I think the person is referring to Chara. In number one “your friend with the creepy smile.” Chara’s always smiling, and in the Genocide ending she says “your power awakened me from death...” The more creepy thing about this is that the can see Chara, so does that means she’s a ghost? Also maybe that is what the clam monster thing in Waterfall is talking about, maybe “Suzy” is that person who asks about “your friend with the creepy smile” in the grass in that secret room. Those are just my theories, there’re probably wrong.

Honestly, when I first saw the "creepy smile" scene, I assumed the girl was talking about Chara. The whole smiling thing just made me think of Chara because the only time we see their facial expression in game they were smiling. Also, assuming the girl talking was a monster like everyone else in the underground, I don't think she would assume that the human was friends with a random monster like Sans or Gaster. Also, the girl might talk to the monster and ask them to stop, not just ask you to ask them. Since a sentient talking flower might freak out anyone, regardless if they were a human or a monster, I suppose that's also a valid theory. But both Flowey and Chara can dissapear quickly, Chara by fading away because ghost, or Flowey shlooping off to somewhere else in the underground. So I think it's probably either Chara or Flowey.

Creepy smile = Chara? I've watched a theory video all about Chara, and it seems they are the narrator of the whole game. In certain events, they won't talk or explain. Like, in genocide when you look at the picture of the Dreemurrs. "..." is their answer. Also, the theorist explains that Chara's ghost is with you and in genocide, it will slowly take over you. So, I think the little girl talking to you in the field is Suzy. I feel as if Suzy is an all-powerful being with around the same power as Gaster himself. And, if the smiling figure is Chara's ghost...how else would that Suzy see it? She'd have to have SOME power to see a GHOST...

I think the girl catching bugs could be Suzy and when she talks about 'your friend with the creepy smile' it could be referring to Chara. We already know Chara has been with us the whole game from the genocide route. At the end of a genocide run they say that 'every time that number increases, that feeling? That's me, Chara.' and we already know they can do a creepy smile as Asriel mentions it in one of the recordings. Just a theory though. But everything really is. Everyone existing is a theory. I know I exist, but even if you say you exist, I can't know you exist. So nothing can really be confirmed. Anyway, I just wanted to share my thoughts on this subject. Bye!

When Gaster's data was scrambled, the few people related to him were likely affected in some way. Hardly anyone but Alphys remembers him, if at all, but the hidden NPCs all seem to know him quite well. They were probably affected as soon as Gaster was shattered, since their existences were "part" of him.

I know I'm not a Patreon, so I probably won't get noticed with this idea, but could you make a discussion/theory video about the possible integration of other video game elements into the game's lore? We all know that saving and resetting are normally just game mechanics, but in Undertale, they're very much a part of the game's lore. The player/Frisk is actually resetting time in the game's world. So what about other video game elements like the battle system or the text boxes the characters speak in? For example, how is Asgore able to smash the MERCY option (or Omega Flowey just destroying the battle screen completely), or how are Mettaton's words able to be bombs if they are simply game features? (Of course, these examples could just be 4th wall breaks, but what if they're not?) I don't recall any specific information in the game saying that any of the other elements are in the lore like SAVING is, but maybe there are. Considering the fandom, there probably is already a headcanon/AU that does something with this, but I'm just not bothered to look it up.
