I know not all people are people of faith but I put everything into God. I was semi-anxious about an opportunity I was going to take. I prayed and let go and said- "I will go this direction because this is what God wants me to do." The next day a different opportunity came up that was way better. I put faith in God and in the process of life that good things can happen. Just because you made a decision you weren't sure of doesn't mean something better could happen. People always fixate that a big decision can always lead to doom and a lot of the time it can lead to something really good.

I definitely overcommit in order to control the narrative about myself. That I’m generous, nice, and worthy. Boundaries I work on constantly. Consumerism to be like other people. Not only does it make me feel more anxious, but it clutters my house and THAT also makes me anxious and it makes me busier trying to get rid of stuff constantly. (Boundaries) People try to give me things all the time and that’s a boundary issue and also a way to take responsibility for other people’s consumerism problem. I’m also very hard on myself. This video is so good. I was furiously jotting down notes in my journal. Thank you🙏🏼❤️

Julia, you have done the impossible - you somehow are able to communicate these things that I know with my head in such a way that it finally gets my heart to understand them, too. Everything you've said in this video applies to me, but especially the part about pushing through. I live with chronic illness. I keep looking for other people to give me permission to be less productive, but I know only I can give myself that permission and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. It's so difficult but I'm at least understanding now that I can support myself through this instead of looking for other people's approval. Thank you SO MUCH for all your videos, I feel like I'm finally starting to heal from all the years of emotional abuse I inflicted upon myself.

I suffer of them all, which is really sad... but something that concerns me a lot (and causes more anxiety on me, tbh) is that in this era, in which the cancel culture is so strong and you have to say sorry almost for everything you say and do if it's something that doesn't align with others, it's kind of difficult to not 'try to please everyone'. I don't know what to think about that, honestly.

My motto for when anxiety was preventing me from doing anything was "half a$s is better than no a$s." Meaning, it's okay if it isn't perfect or complete. Work as much as you're able, you can come back to this when you're ready. A crude phrase, but it got me through the worst bits.

One way for me to reduce the pressure the desire to always immediately be present to get it (write it, edit later) is to expect I will often replay the video. Sometimes when this talk goes from monologue to dialogue (in my mind) I fail to pause your words. I also am cumbersome (becoming less) in navigating dialogues in real time conversations.

This was helpful. However I admit.. I got an anxious feeling when you said (paraphrasing here) “this is it, there’s only one end /destination, we can’t do this again”... not sure why I have anxiety about death. I’ve had it since childhood & I’m in my 30’s. The thoughts about it come & go. I have had visions of traumatic deaths & car accident stories can horrify me. I have done EMDR for that & it helped somewhat. I was in a bad accident at 21 and the counselor thought my fixation on accidents or being hit by a train was connected to that. It’s crazy how many years later it was still a thing for me. The surprising thing, I was a trauma surgery nurse for 13 years and loved it. I saw deaths, sad outcomes but it didn’t bother me in the moment but caused me adrenaline rush & focus to help save the patient. I left due to burn out and I have struggled off & on with seeing their faces in my mind when I ruminate under stressful times. I think of the people who died & their stories. I wish this would go away permanently. I get the cycles a few times a year.

Which expectation is useful was really helpful to think about cause I want things just cause other people seem to be happier with them and I often feel not enough for not having those things and that I'm waisting potential to be that happy and guilty for not trying hard enough but maybe having those things really isn't what I need or would make me happy. Maybe some expectations of happiness I've just got to drop. Dwelling on having something that obviously is not happening right now is waisting time. Instead I could be happy for that I have and only accept expectations that I feel like are important to me
