Thanks for sharing this. My doctor recently diagnosed me as hyperlipidemia and told me to cut down fatty and oily foods, fast food and avoid alcohol and to exercise more. It could be due to my lack of sleep last year due to work stress and taking care of my elder dog who passed away end last year. I hope to actively reduce my LDL levels and change my lifestyle incrementally. thanks for sharing that fasting and having more water help! think being bogged down in an office cubicle I hardly fill up my water bottle as well, but think its an excuse to take a break and fill it up.

Thank you @ajinkyanagare6835. While a list might seem to save time, how are you going to understand how the body really works from a list? If you are looking for a list, KZbin is not the place for you. A google search is a much faster way to get a list. Bam. There it is in seconds flat. Then you can compare it to five other lists and get more and more confused as they all contradict each other. Which one is right? Which one can you trust? You should not trust what anyone says, including me, until you have watched or read enough to understand what it means. After a time you will see what makes sense based on human history and human physiology and based on how the body really works as well as what is congruent relative to other sources of information. A longer video such as this is about education, context, principles and mechanisms, all of which lets you grow as a person and leads to personal empowerment to let you truly take charge of your life. Invest some time in yourself and learn how health really works. You are worth it. 😄

I blame a lot on the FDA. They approve for all of this bad stuff to be put in our foods and products. Yes, we have a responsibility to manage what we eat and use. However, the costs of healthy products vs. something to eat that is inexpensive and stretches the dollar is crazy.

You should really be blaming capitalism... If these corporations who make our food had peoples health and well-being in mind rather than maximizing profits for their shareholders then 90% of the poisons in our food wouldn't be there....

The more people go for the seemingly "cheaper" options, the greater the cost/affordability gap becomes. It is a self-perpetuating condition. People sell themselves and others out without a second thought, sadly. It didn't take long to put your own neighborhood butcher, for instance, out of business just so you could "save" 5 cents a pound at the shiny new mega-market, who then very soon had control of it all. That "5-cents" all used to be invested right back into the immediate neighborhood and families, but no more. That tiniest bit of "savings" ended up costing your entire local economy as well as your health...

@@peterzotti6430That’s the thing - there shouldn’t be “corporations making food,” there should just be middlemen getting food from the farms to our markets. The notion that there are companies who engineer our food is in itself an insane notion. Anything they make is inherently bad for our health. So capitalism is merely a byproduct of a system that should never exist: engineering food.

🎉 About 15 yrs ago, I had an ultrasound due to stomach pain and it was mentioned I had a fatty liver. I asked the Dr if that was a serious dx and she said no. A lot of people have it and it was not something to worry about at that time. Now, in the past few years, I've been going through so many symptoms that indicate my liver is overwhelmed. I only recently found out that was the issue, and I found out by doing my own due diligence to get answers. I've been using your videos for ways to reverse my liver issues and a good deal of my symptoms are noticeably decreasing in frequency. So grateful for you. Your videos are what put liver disease on my radar in the first place. Now they are helping me change it.

@d_no_allyn_86 thank you so much! In the first week of removing inflammatory foods from my diet, I lost 5 lbs right away, but I felt much lighter- like the inflammation had been making me feel like I was carrying around extra 50 lbs. My body responded to the change quick, but I'm sure the healing process takes longer. I hope you are able to take the steps needed to feel better. Fingers crossed and prayers for your success.

Two biggest drivers of fatty liver are fructose from (table) sugar and omega 6 linoleic from plant based oils. So ditch the sugar and oils and you will be good. But don't buy into this no carb nonsense, starches digest to glucose only, glucose is a precious nutrient for our bodies, so don't fear moderate amount of starches. ATB

@marctessier5798
@marctessier5798 2 ай бұрын
Thank you Dr. Ekberg. I have had a fatty liver for years and basically ignored it. In November 2023, I was diagnosed with prediabetes with a blood sugar level of 6.7 and AC1 of 6.6. I was also diagnosed with high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I had symptoms like numbness in my limbs, fatigue, light headedness and just not feeling well. I am 53 years old, about 5'9'' and weighed 92-93kg at that time. So, I started looking up videos about the best foods to eat and foods to avoid, which led me to videos by yourself and Dr. Jason Fung. These videos led me to the ones where you cover intermittent fasting. I started a 16/8 routine immediately (cutting all snacks between meals except for special occasions and sugary beverages) and within a few weeks switched to an 18/6 routine and was surprised by how easy it was. Then, after a couple of weeks of 18/6, I would do one day per week with just one meal. For the past two weeks, I have weighed in at 79.5 kilograms. I had blood tests on Feb 19, 2024. My blood sugar dropped to 5.7 (just within the normal range) and my AC1 was down to 6.1, which is still above normal. But thanks to your videos, I understand this takes longer to decrease since it's a 3-4 month average of your blood sugar. What I don't know is whether I have reversed my fatty liver. I imagine the loss of 12 kg will have helped the liver, but I figure I still have work to do. This video comes at a good time as I have been "rewarding" myself the last few nights -- although at least I have been doing it with mixed nuts instead of sugary treats. This is a terrific reminder that I have to stay on the 18/6 path and be sure to limit alcohol intake. I still feel like there is something out of balance in my body. But I keep reminding myself that it took a long time to get my body in the state it was in last autumn, so it's going to take time to undo the damage I had done. Thank you so much for everything you are teaching us.

When I was Vegan I used to have dry mouth 24/7, along with what felt like a swollen neck and constant nausea. It felt like I was on the verge of puking for like 80% of the day, my only respite was sleep. I used to eat SO much fruit, too, bordering on frugivore whilst being sedentary, not a good combo. Muscle wasting was also occuring, nowhere near enough protein, too, but I reckon it was related to my poor liver being blasted by fructose all day every day. Now I'm strict bbbe carnivore, without the bacon.

This level of facts is needed to educate people why they need to live healthy in order to be healthy. On watching this and thinking on it, one can scan friends, family, work colleagues and even point out, in a friendly way, that certain symptoms are signs of trouble. Thinking back on my own family members, they practically had billboards, figuratively-speaking, screaming out these very symptoms.

It's helped a lot by giving me energy while I fast and keeps me from feeling sick from my fatty liver that's hopefully smaller and reversed by now but I still need to have tests to see if it has indeed improved. Thank you @KanEast. 😄

@@drekberg I've been following your channel for a few years and know you're legit. Comments like these are indicative of that. Unfortunately, most people are looking for a quick fix and an "objective" rational step-by-step list of what to do. They don't want to hear about subjective experiences and how we differ. I learned a lot from you and other KZbinrs. But I also learned a lot through my own subjective experience. By trying new things and seeing what works for me. Your informative videos have provided me with a solid platform so that less mistakes were made on my journey to a healthy life.

When it comes to me.... it was easy...I understood that Sugar and Gluten are not my friends anymore! It took only 1,5 weeks for me to feel better! There is a bit of fasting too. 2 meals per day....first at 12:30 pm and second around 6pm.... no snacking! Just water or herbal teas. Your presentations are simply great! A big THANK YOU!!!!

I was on Tamoxifen for 5 years after I completed radiation for stage 1 breast cancer + surgery. Was blessed to not have to have chemo, but I have read that Tamoxifen does cause liver damage. My PCP was concerned when my bloodwork revealed my liver enzymes were a little high, so she ordered an ultrasound of my abdomen. It was revealed I had a fatty liver in the beginning stage. I read online last year that taking 100 mgs of Co Q10 a day can can "lessen" fatty liver by 50% *while taking Tamoxifen.* That research was concluded in 2016, when I was diagnosed, had two lumpectomies + radiation and began taking Tamoxifen: WHY didn't my oncologist tell me this? It's upsetting. P.S. I have had anxiety most of my life which I think is actually misdiagnosed ADHD, but none of the other symptoms.

Would you be able to explain in a video what imbalances lead to this condition, why metformin is prescribed off-label for this condition and how we can bring ourselves back to homeostasis if we suffer this condition please? 🙏🙏🙏 Basically after experiencing high blood sugar, enough insulin is released to crash blood sugar to dangerous levels which causes many symptoms including extreme pain due to lactic acidosis.
