The road less traveled... always a good choice. So glad you found a bed! Thanks for another memorable video.

Yes, the road less traveled usually is the best choice (at least in my experience, though it may not be for everyone!)

Nadine-- Love those paths through the forest! Almost to Santiago! I know something of what you mean by walking a social path vs a solitude path. I have been a big hiker/backpacker for many years. For a long time, I would get upset if I arrived at a trailhead and I felt like there were too many cars there. It would really affect how I hiked and my expectations for the trail experience. Lately I have been trying to be more mellow, trying to be Ok with other people being there and having their own outdoor experience, and trying to not care as much if there are other people on the trail with me (or what I considered too many people). But it has been a gradual process.

A gradual process indeed. I'm definitely still working on it and really trying to remember that I'm out there too, that everyone deserves to have these experiences (it's just that I now really know that I prefer quiet paths and solitude, and I do find that on the Camino, but if I want to walk into Santiago on one of the more popular routes, I'm just going to have to deal with crowds!)

I commend your breakfast choice. Just completed last month my Camino Portuguese Coastal from Porto to Santiago with Spiritual Variant then to Fisterra & my breakfast didn't exist until my first coffee stop, & since I often started before dawn, I would have walked 5 - 10 ks or so before I got a sniff of a croissant or coffee.

When I stayed in an albergue with kitchen facilities I always tried to pick up a little something to eat before I started walking (yogurt was usually a good choice)- and I always need coffee before walking!! Didn't have it first thing a few times and I could feel it...

The longer route was the right choice I think .
