Can't really blame the American people though. You'd understand if you see what's on their TV everyday. Also, you can't really compare the US with China because China is more diversified in terms of ethnicity and culture, and they're adapted to be more accepting through their long history. Having said that, the people in power (not limited to the govt) in the US are not doing the citizens favors by keeping them in a bubble. Just my opinion.

Maybe I should believe the CCP diversity of opinion on the Bat-flu? My friends originally acknowledged that it began in WH, and then one day they all began to float the "US military athlete story," and the "US planted it to shame China story." And now they tell me that they have proof that it didn't start in China. Are you in that bubble? Haha. I guess along with TDS, now the snowflakes have ADS. 1.- China is a bit closed in country. Chinese are curious about any other countries. Strangers in rural areas are treated so. If you are from USA... there's gonna be even more to ask and talk... Perfectly normal. No bad feelings on it. 2.- During Middle Ages in Europe, artisans would line on the same street. Shoe makers... all in the same street. Hat makers... all in the same street. Sword makers... all in the same street. Many old streets in old european cities; are still called by the name of product sold there. The price of products was commonly stablished, and artisans where united in syndicates called gremios or corporations or communauts... I guess you saw a glimpse of the past in that street full of orange sellers. And I guess prices are pre fixed. 3.- 8:39 looks like good opium flowers are growing there. Very nice video! Thanx!

5:00 I kinda saw the flag of Republic of China on the left. 8:19 Read an article a few years ago comparing Chinese and Western street. Chinese are OK with or even prefer the concept of one street featuring one stuff (like 家具一条街)for more fierce competition hence lower price, whereas westerners obviously dislike such tedious arangement.

About the fruit carts clustering together: It's not necessarily a competition, because there are enough people buying so each vendor gets plenty of business. Something tells me that you missed those photos of China, not approved by the CCP. I have many photos of my friends wearing face masks BEFORE the Wuflu. It was not safe to be outside without that mask, and you can barely see past my friends in these photos. But I'm hopeful that Chinese will attack this problem of pollution which so stains China, rather than attacking their own people. One can say the truth and still love the Chinese people. I will show my love for China by telling them the truth, just as those young people in Tienanmen square, who also loved their country, told the truth. Blessings

@@qitrodz You are wrong too, the environmental situation is not that bad, pollutions did exist, it‘s a price for development. But things are getting better, relevant policies are getting much more. @@PlasticPlanet-o5d I'm wrong too, so you are admitting that you are wrong? About what? Haha, I love that you are telling me not to believe my lying eyes. I have seen my friends with the masks on, with 20m visibility. Now, my friends love their country (China) so they wouldn't show me these pictures IF they were not actual. Even Katherine here refers to the pollution which is linked to those factories and suggests one of her episodes will be to locate that pollution flowing from aforementioned factories. When all of us know this, you are come off as some shill for your country's tyrants. I don't fault you for pollution as in the era in which I grew up, America also struggled with pollution. But we were able to address our pollution because we honestly faced it. You might try this, and recommend to the CCP that they face it, not hide it. Oh, wait, you might disappear. That's not funny, so I won't laugh.

Those fruit-sellers all lined up around the same spot, it's what bank branches & coffee shops do in the West. You often see a JP Morgan, Bank of America & Wells Fargo branch all not far from each other. They want to be in an area where they can get access to the maximum number of customers from both sides of the street/town and then compete on price, customer service, quality. It's Game Theory. To some extent, for a fruit seller being in the company of other fruit sellers also signifies credibility, in rural towns. Don't u find ppl in Asia are so friendly ? They can be short-tempered though as I'm sure u've found out. Another great video!

regarding the oranges or a concentrated area of selling the same or similar item, there are 2 benefits: 1. it attract much more shoppers to that 1 area, able to offer the greatest selection. It become THE place to go for oranges, 2. Allows for collusion of pricing. Everyone will be selling at the same price, as every vendor gets to see what its competitors are doing.

You will be soon reaching 100K! Like every where else, man likes to talk about sports and politics. Word 'KO' had been extended by Chinese e.g. to their TV reality show for elimination of the finals or competition between two participants, which is why the kid knows 'KO'. People competing against each other to sell same category of goods in the market or street is a tradition. The idea behind this is to let buyers to compare whose goods are better "货比三家" and forcing seller to have good quality of goods and services. Unlike US, vendors have to be licensed for the business, which means the quality are somehow controlled. In China, most street sellers have no license. With more vendors selling same things, buyers can just use their own eyes for quality control.

This probably would hurt some of my countrymen's feeling, but it is the truth, some of us need to be more careful not to offense others when talking about something like this. After all, people may not agree to what their governments have to say, but they do love their countries. Also, a thumb up for the little boy, he is polite. He asked you an American style question, and you replied him with a Chinese style answer 😂

That's was a good honest talk. Chinese generally are known to be blunt on the front, rather than hiding behind politeness and telling you what you want to hear.

This is a great video, as a person grew up in chengdu and lived there for 18 years, i am sorry to say that i never did such a trip to surrounding towns on bike. Also, actually chongzhou was also the place where my mom went to be ‘zhiqing’ (知青) during the cultural revolution in 70s.

Regarding your question about why the oranges sellers are in the same place: Image a beach with 2000 people and 2 ice cream sellers. If seller A goes to the left side of the beach he can serve 500 people. If seller B stays in the middle can serve 1500 people. If they both stay in the middle they can each serve 1000 people

I can explain why oranger seller like to gatherings together, as I lived in North America for years and I used to sell home grown vegetables in childhood in China. That can be cultural differences. In North America plazas, shops need sign non competitive contract with landlords, you can not open similar business as others,I.e. two bugger or pizza restaurant in same mall. But Chinese think differently, if there are lots of same restaurants in one mall, restaurants have to be compete on quality, price, and more customers like to go such places. Even in north America, you will see lots of Chinese restaurants in one plaza, but all have good business and customer always like to go these place compare with a place with only one restaurants. From political thinking, we can make cake bigger and share it(Chinese way) instead of I want solely occupy the small cake( American ways). Who is right? From customer and sellers view, Chinese is right..

Don't feel offended. I'm a Chinese living in Germany. And belive or not. I have the issue like you are expierencing. For the people who don't have the chance to travel far away. The only chance for them to know another land is the media. Like we all know, most media are not able to tell the truth. It's just pathetic...
