Brazil seems to have a talent for polyglots, she is probably the number 4 or 5 brazilian member who is polyglot

To be fair, most of them are just faking some passable Spanish and then randomly lived in Switzerland for some reason 😅

Interesting comment. In Brazil, you can find a lot of people named after american names and surnames, as Washington, Kelly, Wellington, etc. It's not the majority, but it's quite common, even if the person has not american ancestrality.

That's the American influence she said on the video. It goes from movies, music to even names.

I can actually think of one such instance, I joined a choir where we are singing An Die Musik by Schubert, and the arrangement is by Joao Wilson Faustini, so that's clearly Portuguese English and Italian in his name, though whether or not Wilson has to do with American influence I'm not sure.
@ThePraQNome
@ThePraQNome Сағат бұрын
@@troy5094 yeah it does. Wilson is a very common name in Brazil lol. The thing is Brazilians can name their child pretty much anything (unless the name is offensive or something), so people like to be creative. Also many people think English names are cool.

I think the majority of the polyglots of this Channel are Brazilians, I speak Portuguese, Spanish, English and I want to learn Italian, French and Austrian-German

My mother-tongue is English. I can also speak French, Spanish and Italian fluently. I recently began learning German and the bizarre thing is (given English and German are much closer than English and the Romance languages) that I’m finding German _way_ more tricky than French, Spanish and Italian! Here’s how I would rank them from least difficult to most difficult: Spanish, Italian, French, German.
@andyx6827
@andyx6827 23 минут бұрын
Yes, I would rank them English - Italian - Spanish - French - German. English and German are related, it's just that German has a looot of grammar, whereas English got rid of almost all of it 😂 So English is way easier to learn for Germans than the other way around :)

I agree, people say "ah, if you speak English, it will be easy to learn German". Not true. You may recognize some words like Wasser, Brot, schwimmen, Milch... like I (BR-Portuguese native speaker) can recognize the verbes with -ieren ending because they come from Latin, but the grammar and sentence structure are a complete different thing. Even the numbers, we speak the same way as you and they say the other way around. For example: 25 EN (twenty-five) PT (vinte e cinco) ES (veinticinco) IT (venticinque), FR (vingt cinq) DE (fünfundzwanzig).

I think he was talking about cases (casus). German has nominative, genitive, dative and accusative cases. That's what he meant by "form" earlier in the video. Dutch doesn't have cases. Maybe the video was cut weirdly or his brain was faster than his mouth 😅
