Leg cramps: I've suffered with increasingly severe nightly leg cramps for years. Doctors recommended magnesium with some waning success. Since starting this exercise several months ago, I've only had three nights where mild cramps occurred. Fantastic outcome for me. I notice that my cramps were worse after heavy use of my legs during the day. That suggests to me that this pose drains the lymph from the legs making way for a fresh batch overnight to carry away the muscle repair detritus it carries away. Not doing so, causes lymph to overload because it does not move without muscle contractions. I posit that signals the muscles to start moving, and they do but in an uncoordinated way resulting in gridlocked fibres, i.e. cramp.

Very useful information, pleasantly presented with the option of muting the sound if required. This is one exercise I have enjoyed doing for years! I am deaf (but not daft) and can't hear the spoken word or music Please, if possible, check the spelling before uploading. I noticed twice that you had text with 'Relive' instead of 'Relieve' . I am sure you mean 'Relieve' the various conditions this exercise is beneficial for. I suspect that no one wants to relive any unpleasant symptoms they may be experiencing Thank you for making this presentation. 🙂

@corporateglow

@MFroehlich Thank you for your comment! I'm glad you found the presentation useful. Understanding the theory behind the health benefits of putting legs up against the wall can indeed provide valuable insights. When your legs are elevated, it helps to promote venous return, allowing blood to flow back to the heart more efficiently. This can help reduce swelling, improve circulation, and provide a sense of relaxation. Additionally, it can help release tension in the lower back and relieve pressure on the spine. These combined effects contribute to the overall improvement in well-being. Thank you for bringing up the importance of understanding the theory behind it!🙏🏻❤️

Hi there, does just lying on your back with your legs up in the air (not against a wall) work too?
@corporateglow
@corporateglow Жыл бұрын
@ladyrender Thank you for your question!❤️🙏🏻 While lying on your back with your legs up in the air can provide some benefits, placing your legs against a wall has specific advantages. When your legs are elevated against the wall, it helps to promote better blood circulation and lymphatic drainage due to the angle and the support provided by the wall. However, if lying on your back without a wall is more comfortable or convenient for you, it can still offer some relaxation and relief. It's all about finding what works best for you and your body. Give it a try and see how it feels!😊

How it works to help improve sleep patterns? Plz explain
@corporateglow
@corporateglow Ай бұрын
@nirajanpradhan5416 Putting your legs up against the wall can potentially improve sleep patterns in a few ways. By promoting relaxation and reducing stress, this pose can help the body and mind wind down before bedtime. Additionally, the increased blood circulation and lymphatic drainage from this position may contribute to a greater sense of relaxation, potentially aiding in falling asleep and achieving a more restful sleep. You are very welcome! I am glad that the videos were helpful and informative for you. Venous insufficiency can be challenging to manage, but the correct information and resources can alleviate some of the symptoms and improve the overall quality of life. Here are some solutions that may help ease the symptoms of venous insufficiency: - Compression stockings: These special stockings apply pressure to the legs to help improve blood flow and reduce swelling. - Exercise: Physical activity can help improve circulation and strengthen the muscles in the legs. - Elevation: Raising the legs above the heart can help reduce swelling and improve blood flow. (in any way possible, even using a yoga strap or belt to bring the leg up, watch minute 2:53 in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jn3bn5eMpM-XeaM) - Weight management: Maintaining a healthy weight can reduce the strain on the veins and improve overall circulation. - Avoid prolonged standing or sitting: Avoid long periods of standing or sitting without taking breaks to move around and stretch. But before trying anything, please speak with a healthcare professional to determine the best treatment options for your specific condition is essential. I wish you all the best on your health journey! 🙏🏻❤️

@ashtalakshmig9909! While I'm not a medical professional, I can offer some general insights. It's always a good idea for individuals with medical conditions, like high blood pressure (BP), to consult their healthcare provider before trying new practices. Elevating the legs against the wall can have benefits, but it's important to ensure it's safe for your specific health situation. How does it do all the things you claim? Maybe some explanation would help?
@corporateglow
@corporateglow Жыл бұрын
@stevespyder Thank you for watching and for your comment. 🙏🏻❤️I apologize for not providing enough explanation in the video. 🙈All of these benefits have in common that they involve improving circulation throughout the body. When you put your legs up against the wall, gravity helps to return blood to the heart, improving blood circulation to the rest of the body. This improved circulation can help to reduce swelling, relieve muscle tension, promote relaxation, and support healthy organ function. By promoting better circulation, putting your legs up against the wall can positively affect your overall health and well-being. Here are some studies that support the claim that putting your legs up against the wall can have several health benefits: "The Effects of Legs-Up-the-Wall Pose on Lumbar Range of Motion and Core Muscle Activation in Healthy Adults," International Journal of Exercise Science, 2019. digitalcommons.wku.edu/ijes/vol12/iss7/6/ "The benefits of inversions in yoga," International Journal of Yoga Therapy, 2013. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3768229/ "Effects of inverted posture on the cardiovascular system," World Journal of Cardiology, 2016. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4860038/ "Effects of an inverted posture on digestive symptoms: A pilot study," Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, 2014. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24145675/ "Yoga and cardiovascular health: a comprehensive review," World Journal of Cardiology, 2014. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4206973/ "Effect of inverted postures on back pain in patients with lumbar spondylolisthesis," Journal of Physical Therapy Science, 2017. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5536359/ "Effect of an inverted posture on sleep patterns in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome," Journal of Physical Therapy Science, 2016. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4909901/ "The Effect of Legs-Up-the-Wall Pose on Stress Hormones and Sleep Quality in Women with Chronic Insomnia," Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, 2020. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31971466/

Good question

@azure5273 Жыл бұрын
Honestly it just depends on yourself and your lifestyle and how you prefer/can do it. think after a whole day of walking and standing, one would feel the best with the swelling, blood circulation, relaxing and helping the spine. Also before sleep is usually the only time many people can take 20 uninterrupted minutes to do this. It will definitely help with sleeping easier. I also occasionally, on tougher days, sleep with my legs propped up on one or two pillows, not completely upright, but high enough. It definitely helps with my feet and lower back. So I think during your sleep (or a nap) is a convenient time to try it.

@GrasshopperRDG Thank you for watching and asking this great question!!🙏🏻❤️ The timing of when to practice putting legs up against the wall can depend on your personal preference and desired outcomes. Here are a couple of options to consider: Morning Routine: Some people find it beneficial to do this practice in the morning, right upon rising. It can help kick-start the day by improving circulation, reducing morning stiffness, and providing an energizing start. Bedtime Relaxation: Others prefer incorporating it into their bedtime routine. This can promote relaxation, reduce stress, and help prepare the body for a restful sleep. Ultimately, it's about finding what works best for you. You can experiment with both options and observe how your body responds. Listen to your body's cues and choose the time that leaves you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
