For anyone wondering if these work: YES! I loooove my legs now! I always had thicker legs, but now they're more proportional with my upper half, leaner and with muscles :D like a real ballerina :'). and no dieting or over excertion :P. Cant praise this video enough!

I recently switched dance schools and the new studio instructor tells me that I need to strengthen the muscles that keep my knees pulled up and strait... And it's hard because they naturally don't go all the way strait, so would you mind doing a video on strengthening and increasing knee flexibility? Thanks!

Hello Kathryn, I am soooo thrilled to discover ur channel here a couple of days ago. I downloaded all your workout and tech tips. And I have been working on it. very helpful! Thank you for being capable and being capable of helping us to be capable!!! I find I am much more flexible and strong after just practicing some of them for two days only. Incredible!! But after practicing with this leg toning and strengthening workout, somehow my heels are funny and when I do you barre workout afterwards, my legs somehow are not very turning out as usual and I ultimately lean on my weight on the heels instead of feet which i usually do. I dont know why. Can you please help me? ( Maybe I should say a little bit about myself to help you understand my problem? So I started dancing in 2013 at the age of 26, though I had some training when I was in primary school. Since then I have been using the NYCB workout one and two, as well as attending ballet classes almost everyday. I got some tutoring by one of the former ballerinas from the NYCB though: ) Looking forward to your answering.

Hi! I started ballet in september and your videos are helping so much! I'm 23 and have always danced but I had never been in a ballet class before. I used to misuse my quads to hold my legs and have developped ugly big quads, they're starting to lengthen a little thanks to your advice: it feels great! I'm french and summer intensives are rare here so I think your videos are going to be watched and re-watched through the summer so that I don't lose everything I've learned the past few month! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with such kindness! I hope my english is not too bad, I haven't been practicing for a while now!
@sarahfahrenkamp24816 жыл бұрын
Hi! I have a question... For developpes shouldn't you use your quads? Because I really feel them when I do leg extensions and hold them but if you say that that is wrong I'm worried now...? Please help!

Hi Katie! Im going on vacation next month, meaning I'll be off dance for three weeks. Im scared because my ballet school is SO strict about weight. One of the other dancers recently came back from her vacation, having filled out a little, and she was given a harsh talking to. I don't want that to happen to me, but at the same time, Im on vacation and my parents wont like it if I don't eat with them. Do you have any tips for maintaining a ballet body even during three weeks off?

Aria Copeland I just had a two week break and it was definitely hard to stay in shape and keep up stamina, strength etc A video on this would definitely be helpful!
@kathryn_morgan9 жыл бұрын
Aria Copeland Hi Aria! I think you can still eat with your parents - just watch your portion sizes. That is what I like to do when I am on vacation. I eat what I like but not a lot of it. If you can also, try to get a little workout in everyday - even if it is just a barre in the morning or something. I guarantee you won't be as much out of shape as you think you will!

Thank you so much for being such an inspiration! I admire you so much. I have a question. Do you have any videos about improving the stability in your standing leg and/or pelvis? I have a super flexible low back and I find it hard to keep my pelvis still. I also constantly have to correct myself as I start to sink into my hips and throw my weight back. I just need to build up the strength to properly hold my weight. Again, thank you so much for inspiring not only me but so many others.

Hi, Katie! I find the exercise at 15:23 is virtually impossible for me. Do you think I am probably doing something wrong or is it a matter of strength? Thank you so much for this video. 😀
@kathryn_morgan9 жыл бұрын
little0lillie I think it is a matter of core strength. Try doing the exercise with one hand on the floor for support and then you can build up to taking the hand off the floor. Also make sure you don't arch your back!

Hi Kathryn. Do you have a video with exercises to help ballet students to use their hamstrings instead of quads during grande rond de jambe and other leg extensions?
@missla1219637 жыл бұрын
Bela thanks. That is exactly what I tell my students. I just didn't know if there may be ways to strengthen the hamstring to aid in not having the quads to take over. I try to relax my quad so that the hamstring will have to work. Thank you! Happy married life to ya!

Hey! I doubt anyone still looks at this comment section, but I'll ask anyways. Why am I feeling the first part of the exercise (where our heels were up) only in the front of my thighs?
