Agreed. I’ve realized that even newer cars are getting smoother. For example for a while cars we’re getting harder body lines, bmw, Mercedes and Porsche are all getting smoother bodies again. The Infiniti G fits the times even still. I have a 2007 G35 S sedan rn and it looks amazing in my opinion. Super reliable but the most annoying things will go bad which suck. My window stopped working and my smart lock. But the car itself is perfectly fine. Those are all things you can fix anyways

Just ticked 60,000 miles on my 08 6MT and i still look forward to driving it every single day.. cant find enough good things to say about it. Yea it could use a little bit of refinement, but overall you get used to the quirky character that the car gives you, that the german counterparts just cant match. :) I love my G.

Confort not really ! Just bought one and in terms of refinment and confort it's so much away from my 2002 manual 530i. I know that G competes with 3-series but its dimensions and weight are very close to the E39 5-series.

The only thing that I don’t like about these is how the black trim around the buttons on the door and the steering wheel tends to come off a bit as they get older. My family G35x is 10 yeas old and has that problem.

I actually really like the IS because its really nimble, has one of the tightest turning radiuses in the class and a really refined interior yet not boring at all. i think if we got an IS over our ES we would still own one. i wouldent really COMPARE it to a TL because the TL is bigger but when it drops to fun to drive factor the fact a huge luxury sedan can hustle with the 3.7 and be priced similarly to this i guess its considerable.

I've had my '08 since October 2007 and have no complaints for it. I chose it because the IS350 didn't have a manual & I didn't like the pre-LCI E90 3er nor the C-Class. Some say that it's a fancy Nissan, but I don't care as it's superb to me. Mine only has about over 45k on it, as I left it at home during 2009-12 after going up north for school. It was replaced by a G55 AMG, which I shipped back down south last year & sent this up. No comparison there, but I missed it and shifting too much.

I have a 2008 and it out performed all its peers at the time even the vaunted BMW 330i. You might say the trans is clunky but then again you are young and probably have not driven a lot of manual transmission vehicles. I love mine and the best thing is it is bought and paid for. My dealership had a track day and that is hen a professional showed me what these cars were capable of in the right hands. Regards, Toby

I am going to look on one exactly like this one with only 70000km on it this weekend. Any G35 nerd here that know what to look out for? Do it have AUX btw?
@jakel9089
@jakel9089 8 жыл бұрын
+Jimmie Nilsson the aux in it is a VGA port. You can actually play videos on the main screen with the parking break on if you have the right set up. I have a 2007 G35S 6MT with 107k miles currently. The original clutches in this car are awful but it's most likely been replaced by now for yours. Brake pads wear fast (but it stops on a dime). The engine is one of the best V6's on the market then or now. Hell of fun drive, corners like a subbie and climbs like a V8.
@roadwraith6
@roadwraith6 8 жыл бұрын
Laubster Gaming Thx Yeah I have been looking around some weeks now and cant really finda a car that can match the infiniti in that price. I have been in contact with the firm but they dont want to trade in my car for a decent amount of money :S But I just have to go look at it this weekend. If its all it looks to be I might buy it straigh of them and sell my car afterwards... You never now :) in the end of this week i might be a infinti owner haha. So the clutch are changed on recall?
@jakel9089
@jakel9089 8 жыл бұрын
The best time to buy used is early January generally. Also don't trade in your car if it is decent because you can get way more money out of it. Clutch should be on recall. I know the fly wheel is so it wouldn't surprise me. If you live in a area that gets a lot of snow get an AWD because RWD is terrible in the snow for this car.
@roadwraith6
@roadwraith6 8 жыл бұрын
Laubster Gaming Good to know. have not seen anything about that recall so will have to ask them. www.blocket.se/stockholm/Infiniti_G35_Sport_306hk_Taklucka__Kanonskick_63929181.htm?ca=21&w=3 Here is the car. Have not seen anyone with AWD. Dont think the G35 vas sold here in sweden with AWD :/ This alone with 4 doors is very rare

Have you driven them all to compare? BMW is about the same as Mercedes in terms of refinement from my experience. And I've had a few Audis (Q5 3.2, A4 Avant) that were far more reliable than any Nissan product I've owned. The worst one was the old Quattro Coupe, but that was years ago. The Infiniti isn't cheap feeling, but it can feel unrefined compared to other cars at the price point. Sofyan is certainly right about the vibration in the G35's cabin, but some people don't mind it.

If you're looking for refinement I would put a Mercedes before a BMW..... just saying. I love this car and I would definitely take it over a BMW or Audi as I know this is reliable and if it breaks it's not gonna cost me an arm and a leg to fix it. The engine makes a better exhaust note than any other car in the class and even to this day the car looks fresh. Idk how people can call it unrefined and cheap when it's far from that... And since it's based on a 370z it's more fun to drive than a TL

@@crate2819 Depends on Honda : I have had a 2007 ACCORD V6 6-sp and its shifting wasn't really smooth ... no grinding like so many people experienced in those V6-6 but not even close to the 2006 ACCORD 5-speed i4 I had too . But the 2.4 accord had a brand new clutch and obviously fresh fluid tranny and it was SMOOTH like butter. The base 2005 RSX I had was also very smooth in shifting . The 2007 G35s 6-sp , recently bought one , doesn't indeed have the smoothness of HONDA/ACURA . But my 2002 530i manual is also very smooth and feels very luxury when changing gears without having a sporty shifter like TSX/RSX/Accord.

BTW, the first generation G (V35) was introduced in June 2001 and sold from March 2002 as an '03. The V36 above was introduced in late 2006. As for the shifter vibrating, it's normal due to it being RWD. Great review though on both cars and thanks for being unbiased unlike others that outright criticize.

And well that's a one case scenario but take a look at the picture in general and Audis have more problems than Nissans.... and yeah I know I wasnt speaking of Sofyan specifically, I just have seen people in other G videos call the G very unrefined and cheap feeling when it isnt. The clutch SUCKS on these. I stalled mine at least once a week. Very vague and touchy.

Dustin Paramore how bad is the oil consumption? Also, would you recommend it as a second car for a 19 year old?

You can adjust the clutch engage point. Wish I knew this when I owned my 05 6MT...adjust it so it doesn't engage towards the top and you're golden
