This is the first time I've heard Andre not speaking English. Kinda caught me off guard. I've only discovered your channel in the last few months and I've ended up on this 7 year old video. Amazing how far you all have come, keep it up!

I know Russian and it's very strange for me hearing him speak Russian when I'm used to him speaking English.

I am guessing the shifting pattern change was because CNG runs colder that the coolant isnt getting as hot, therefore the trans can get cooler as well. The entire cooling system is running cooler on CNG. Thats just an idea though... I love these old episodes before Andre spoke english, yet Nathan can understand, very entertaining!

Man that 3.7 just screams, and is one of the few V6s that sound real good in the higher rev range. Love that motor in my 2013 CX9.

Could you guys do a 5.0? I would like to see it's time up that compared to the ecoboosts. Right now I'm getting better MPGS in my 5.0 than all of my friends with ecoboosts.
@MercuryMorrison10 жыл бұрын
I really wish you guys would do one of the base V8's offered in these Trucks. I would love to see how my Coyote 5.0L would handle the Ike Gauntlet. Would also be interesting to see how the new D.I GM 5.3L would do as well as the Dodge 4.7L and Toyota 4.6L.
@mrtupas73210 жыл бұрын
They did have one of those in one of the earlier Ike compares. They had the Silverado with the 5.3 and I think the same boat but it had the 308 rear end which couldn't compare to the Toyota and Eco-boost F150 set up. But yeah I would also like to see how the Coyote handles, but they might just choose to wait for the 2015 since that motor will carry over.
@MrChevypower10 жыл бұрын
I'd like to see a video comparing 3/4 ton diesels up the Ike Gauntlet, especially the new 2015 Power Stroke. Another interesting video could be to find the actual mechanical differences between an F250 and F350. I can see them on the Chevy and Ram, but not on the Ford. I think tow/haul mode makes a difference for partial throttle applications by holding gears longer, but at full-throttle, the truck will hold gears till the redline whether you are in tow/haul or not. It also downshifts through the gears when you are decelerating.
@Fordguy199710 жыл бұрын
The petroleum time is pretty impressive! It actually beat the Chevy Ecotec3 5.3L V8 by about 20 seconds. Now, I understand you have to take into account the temperature and the rear axle ratio, but man, the 3.7 still kicked ass. The Chevy had a 3.08 rear end which is terrible for towing and the 3.7 had a 3.73 rear end which is great for towing. Factoring in the 53 horsepower and 105 ft.lbs of torque difference, it should cancel out the rear axle ratio difference though. All in all, I think that Ford makes a better transmission.
@nathanmcdonald6109 жыл бұрын
Not to mention that engines actually make slightly lower power numbers when running on CNG.
@Fordguy19979 жыл бұрын
Nathan McDonald Yeah, that's true. But I was talking about the run when they used petrol.

No. The L E G A L speed on I-70, where we film was either 60 or 65 mph, depending on the location. There are spots along the I-70 corridor that go to 75 mph.

@alacey8210 жыл бұрын
Ivan Vojt You must live in California. I think that is the only state that still has a 55mph speed limit when towing anything state wide. Most other states is the posted speed limit just like other cars or just have a speed limit for bigger loads like RVs. drivinglaws.aaa.com/laws/trailer-speed-limits/

People who think a v6 truck is a good idea clearly don't use a truck as a truck, say goodbye to your fuel economy and the longevity of you're engine. What makes more sense a v8 barley working? Or a v6 screaming? Ps ford is shit
@jessemayne21639 жыл бұрын

Your the idiot if you belive the shit that is coming out of your mouth. My v8 has to work when a v6 is screaming for help
@joshnc1017 жыл бұрын
N/A v6's these days can easily take on v8's that were considered top of the line 15 years ago, yeah you gotta rev them quite high to make power, but for the most part I wouldn't worry about longevity on one of these for occasional towing. The 3.7 in the F-150 is a pretty stout motor that can take a beating all day long against that 7k redline. I would know since my Mustang has this engine.

I think that an F-150 3.7 is a much better buy then the Tacoma or Frontier. More power and better MPG, 6speed auto, quieter and more comfortable.
@NOLAItsNotOva10 жыл бұрын
Not worth another $18k. The Tacoma has the same max tow rating as this truck. So really you wouldn't gain much other than another gear and more room.
@MidMoTundra10 жыл бұрын
kane smith but when you go to sell them the Taco will be worth more. I see used Tacos roughly ~5 years old with 100k miles still selling for 20k+. But I agree, you can get a bigger truck for nearly the same price. It all depends if you care about resale value when comparing a V6 full size vs a mid sized truck.
@MidMoTundra10 жыл бұрын
kane smith no, but when it's time to sell, you get part of type investment back. Long story short, Tacos hold value better than a V6 full size truck. I don't understand your rant, I juat stated that a mid sized truck will be worth more than a useless V6 full sized truck when it's time to trade in.
@MidMoTundra10 жыл бұрын
kane smith I have a full sized truck too, but since your panties are in a wad let's break it down for you... I replied to a comment stating that a V6 full size truck was a better value than a mid sized truck. This IMO and many others is false. Due to weight and size, the V6 in the full sized is bogged down. Yes I know you can buy a heavily discounted big 3 truck cheaper than a mid sized truck. I don't understand why your rant about how a V8 full sized truck is in anyway related to the V6 full size vs mid sized trucks. Now get yourself off your purple drink and learn to read in context. I'll make it simple, since you failed to read any of the previous comments; a V6 mid sized truck vs V6 full sized truck, the mid sized is a better overall value. If you can't comprehend that, you're a special kind of stupid.
@bryanhines26029 жыл бұрын
The Toyota Tacoma is the best midsize pickup truck out there. The engines easily can go over 250k miles. They get good mpg, they have good power, there quiet, comfortable and they look good. Fords are ugly, sometimes unreliable, there engines are too futuristic. Which isn't a bad thing but just imo
