This car isnt made to be fast. Its designed to be reliable and classy with smooth power. This has one of the best if not best 4 cylinder turbo engine. It's not a race car it's a GOOD car well built. Not for street racing and tinkering. Dont launch it then say it's slow and be ungrateful people...instead salute Lexus for not being stuck on the side of the road. If you wanna go faster buy a different car.

I will respectfully disagree. Don't get me wrong, it is as you state, with excellent road manners and solid handling, but in a class that includes the 330i, A4, Q50, C300, Gulia, etc. a bit more power and torque would have made it more competitive in the class. Personally for the money I can get a 3.3t G70 for only a couple grand more and it has an equally composed chassis and luxury interior, but also has a better infotainment and is more fun to drive.

@@lions208436 I think high 7s is ok for a entry level engine on par with a 320i or C200. Of course Genesis will be more competitive on pricing as they don’t have the cache of the German brands nor the reliability and quality credentials of Lexus.

I've got an IS200T and they're a fantastic car in luxury, reliability and build quality. If you want something sporty and fast though, look elsewhere. They have good enough chassis composure when pushed but essentially they're a forgettable drive. If you want something to soothe away the km's that will probably outlive your grandchildren, Lexus is the correct choice.

Looking at a 2014 IS250 in the used market I don’t know if it’s worth almost twice as much as a Mazda3 from the same year. Also has a 2.5L engine and gets to 100km/h in the same time as tested by this same channel (SP25 Astina). Uniquely has a head up display and importantly retrofittable with CarPlay/Android Auto without replacing the head unit. MZD connect also is a bit more intuitive with the dial as opposed to the weird touchpad and mouse system thats been universally criticised on the Lexus. From a feature perspective, they’re neck and neck (xenon headlights, heated electric leather seats, high end audio) but the Mazda surprisingly takes the lead in tech. The engine is the same in performance, displacement and Mazda is just as reliable as Toyota + similar 6sp auto. I’m just trying to figure out if the Lexus has any redeeming qualities or if the badge is hiking up the value.

I have this car in pearl white. I’ve had it for a year. Love it. Drives awesome. It’s not meant to be fast tho. It’s got good low end torque for some quick driving. But it’s not fast. You’re buying a cheap, reliable, luxury car. That’s all you should ask of it. I would on change it for a newer IS

Just had my 2017 200t f sport serviced and now it is making a fake induction note I've never experienced before when I push the gas. Anyone else experience this, and/or know how to turn off the fake engine sound?

@@Connor-lj5vd just an update. Don't know how I overlooked it, but the 2017 is 200 does in fact have the ASC button to the left of the steering wheel. Turned it down and the fake noise is gone. It doesn't improve performance at all and the amplified engine note is not pleasant anyway. Still a great car but it could be improved with more boost to help with low end torque

The lexus is200t goes to 5800rpm while the bmw 328i revs to 7000rpm the results are the better acceleration for bmw and better lifetime for lexus bmw weights 70kg less to be said
