Check out the before and after dyno with the new mods. This car came in with an SCT BDX programmer & Airaid CAI. We installed a ported 18 manifold, Stainless power headers with cats, our tune on the current BDX, and a JLT cold air intake. Nice mid to high gains with this set up. Links below to the actual parts. 5 years later. My brother has been gone for 3 years and I still have the car. It’s much different now but nothing has changed since we did the fuel system 4 years ago except for a 4.0 pulley. Need to get the car up to you guys for some maintenance this winter!

Why do you think that the Gen 2 cars have been proven to be way more reliable than the gen 3 cars. And they make about the same power. The gen 3s do make more NA because they have higher compression and a redesigned intake. On boost the gen 2 is the more stout engine.

I have the exact same set up with different manufacturer names but the HP and torque numbers are almost identical. I then purchased intake cams only from L&M motors, had them installed. Made a peak of 447hp and about 390 ft lbs of torque. Peak hp is about 7200 rpm.Car will rev easily to 8000. Tuner says, shift at 7800 and with these cams will be right in sweet spot of approx 6400 for 2nd gear. At 6400 theres 15 to 20 hp difference between these and stock. Car pulls super strong for an N/A motor. Too bad my area doesnt have E85. Would love to try it.

Thats very interesting. My 2015 mustang GT, with BBK 1 and 3/4 inch CATLESS! long tubes, K&N cold air intake, and e85. It put down 427whp. Now, i just finished my FBO build, i added the ported 2018 manifold, Roush X-pipe, BBK ported 85mm TB, 47lb injectors, DW400 fuel pump... now it needs the tune. Super excited to see what she puts down!

I never thought those cats were that restrictive... I'm running LT's, exhaust, intake, tune. And making 442hp and 409 tq with stock manifold and stock injectors on 93 pump gas

That's 470-495 crank...not bad at all for a high RPM motor...I think I'm doing this but with Cobra jet and monoblade.

I honestly find this weird. Maybe its altitude or something but my 2016 GT auto made 425rwp/392torque with just a cold air, long tube headers, and a 93oct tune. I'm wondering if I do an 18 ported intake and injectors what I'd make.

Would you contribute a bulk of the hp gain mainly from LTH. The reason I ask is, I would like to do similar mods without the long tube headers I don't want my car to be very loud, at the moment I have borla atak cat back and it's fairly loud as it is. How would the dino graph and the horsepower would look without the long tube headers, would there be less power down low in rpm or just down at the top of rpm.

Brenspeed is it importante yo add a after market manifold? Does a intake+ manifold+ kooks header, can be tune by the lund x4/sf4??

Been thinking really hard about purchasing a 2011 6r80 car to give my Saleen a friend! What's a basic setup to achieve high 11s without breaking the bank? Was thinking drag radials on stock wheels, upper/lower control arms, X Pipe, cold air/brenspeed 93. tune, driver seat only. Is this more of a low 12 second combo or could I make a goal of hitting an 11?

Walter Macknight circle D converter, headers, cold air, tune. That combo with race wheels and tires will do it.

Brent great video but I have a question for you. I have a similar set up with a ported GT350 intake manifold, long tube headers, JLT intake, awe full cat back and 47lbs injectors but i only pulled 427 RUNNING E85 on a mustang dyno. Should I think about getting a new tuner?

I dont use a mustang dyno so I dont know what those numbers really mean in the dyno jet world. On a dyno jet though with those mods you should exceed 427 rwhp at high RPM easily with a manual. I dont know if you have auto or manual, auto will read less rwhp.

@@BrenspeedEngineering my car is a manual i just see the red mustang making about the same without being on e85. I tried to just call yall about a tune, reason why is i have a tune for everything i have and found out my rear 02s where turned and i failed my yearly inspection. I called the turner and had them turned back on but even after 250 miles they will not ready no matter what i do. I need a tune that the 02 sensors ready with said tune. As of right now I'm de modding my car just so I can run a stock tune get them back on.

Mustang dyno reads higher than a dyno jet. For a mustang dyno 427whp isn’t bad i would guess its 450ish whp on a dyno jet. Seems about average to me

430whp seems quite low. My 2016 GT PP, with similar mods (JLT CAI, ARH long tubes, and a Ford Performance (Borla) cat-back) did 448-451 on 93 on a dynojet. My tuner had another car similar to mine with a ported 3rd Gen intake manifold that did 462 on 93 that he was working on when I was last there.

yeah that's low numbers. i'm at ~410-420 with just a lund tune, CAI, and exhaust. getting a ported intake manifold in about a week or so, with a new tune and PMAS CAI, hoping to make at least 450.

Dynos vary so I wouldn’t put too much emphasis into the numbers.... I’m more focused on the track times.

I have a '17 Mustang GT 5.0 with a PMAS cold air intake, and a BAMA tune running 93 oct. I am getting 403 at the rear wheel. Is that good or am I just used to it? Seems like I can do more

Yah thats not bad. I mean all dyno's are different and a ton of variables like SAE or STD rating and all that but its in the ball park.

Hey I need some guidance. I’m going to be doing a Paxton 2200 or a vortec setup on my gen1 coyote. I currently have a cobra jet manifold. Should I use the stock manifold or do you think I should keep the cobra jet and do a more unique setup. The only reason I question the cobra jet is because I’ve never seen any reputable sources, give info or display the cobra jet with a centrifugal blower

Never heard of that unless fuel is bad and knocks are being very active or picking up false knock from a header rubbing or something.

Hey Brent I have a question. I noticed bolt on coyotes can trap 120+ in the 1/4 making 430ish wheel. Since I am a 3v guy I noticed it is very hard to trap 120 in a supercharged 3v making 480+ and 450ish torque. Usually see them trapping 115-118. Was just wondering why the 3vs tend to trap low? Couple notes on that. Coyote's pull crazy hard its funny I race them all the time against 3V's, plus had 3V's forever racing against coyote's. My friends 3V auto pulls hard on the high mile coyote NA out of the hole but on the big end the high mile car would pull hard and catch up we ran basically the same ET. 3V supercharged cars have fast 1/8 but not as much RPM or steam up top at similar power level. My old auto 3V cars back in the day making say 430 to 440 with a Saleen would trap around 118, which is close to where a coyote does at the same power level. Tough question, but good one. I think a lot of it is power band, basically much higher RPM and pulls way harder up top.

Brent. I have a 2016 gt with stage 2 Whipple kit. My question is my pulley is rubbing the hood insulation and cutting in to it. Should that be a concern?

These cars can only handle so much spark based off of fuel. They are smart, and cam timing is optimized. Yes some make more and some make less. A lot of times it is based of the dyno rating like SAE vs STD. HEY thanks for the comment!!!! And thanks for watching.

A dyno is a tool. All that matters is before and after. Stock it made 370 wheel and after it made 430 wheel. That’s all that matters. Not what you made on a dyno at another shop with different fuel quality, parts, weather, elevation, etc.

Because I am basically blind and everything I have is prescription. So if I walk in from outside and don't have normal glasses I leave them on. The life of not being able to see.....

So $1500 worth of intake and Cai plus injectors and headers which are another 1200 or more plus labor to put them in and they had a cai already 🤷🏻‍♂️ to gain 50hp which is only the last 800 rpm, don’t get me wrong 430 whp is nothing to sneeze at but at the cost of a couple grand, nah and you gain no torque, if this person is drag racing the car and looking for peak numbers great but for a street car it wouldn’t be worth it, I would buy one used that some Someone already spent their money on this stuff lol 😂

Sonicaceman I went for a ride in this car last night. It really does feel like a different car at WOT. The car just keeps pulling all the way to 7500rpm. The gain is from 5500rpm-7500rpm. Stock it falling on its face after 5500rpm. So if your a WOT man then this mod will keep you in your powerband that keeps pulling. Also a side note that the car has 3.73 gears so dyno numbers could be a pinch low.

I’m not denying the car is fast and that it drives different from the previous version I just feel it’s a Lot of coin for what you’re getting that’s all. I put stupid money into my last mustang that I had for 14 years, I was always changing something and it had the works, 347 stroker, heads Intake full exhaust and custom tune, it was a fun car but I could have had just as much fun without spending so much, all to their own, maybe I’m getting older and I want something simpler and more reliable, this is definitely a sweet car and I hope the owner enjoys it but I hope if they ever sell it they’re ready to be disappointed in how much they get because you never get back anywhere near what you put into it, if you don’t care about money and you enjoy doing it then I guess it’s worth it

@@Sonicaceman the gains may not seem alot but the extra rpm power makes coyotes much much faster! For instance you can see stock coyotes trapping any where from 108-112 stock. After these mods they can trap 118-120+. Older cars would need 100 more rear wheels horsepower to gain Those traps. Pulls much much harder!

Ahhhh 347 I am guessing you have a fox body. I have hod a lot of them, I remember when I could get a cam for $150, now 4 cams are $1200 or more. New cars just cost way more to mod than old cars, but I love both. Thanks for watching!

47lb injectors are only 200.00 And 50whp NA is a big big deal... This car is a low 11sec car easily. That will walk pretty much anything out there under 40k purchase price

@@belleon_xanioo8620 lol, totally guessed it. No shit a bigger displacement engine will make more torque. Guess what, they don't rev as high either. But to say they "lack so much torque" is retarded. I've driven all sorts of V8's, DOHC and pushrod, NONE of them lack torque.
