I have to say, the biggest advantage for the new Brz for me, aside from the bump in torque, is the overall refinement of the new car. It is a lot easier to live with. And coming from the previous gen, the power just feels right now.

The BRZ/86 and Miata have some of the best "traditional" looking engine bays on the market. Completely functional without a lot of plastic BS.

Congrats! I got my BRZ back in November. Had to go several cities over to pick it up. Same color, but the Limited trim. Got it for MSRP, too! I guarantee that you will love it--I certainly love mine, and it's my daily. It's also quicker than claimed--it's about as fast as a WRX. My advice for anyone who thinks they want one: Get it! You won't be disappointed.

I've had my Silver '23 BRZ for 6 months now and I freaking love it! I've had a bunch of vehicles over the years including 6 other sports cars and this new BRZ is my favorite out of all of them. They got so many things right with this new model. I'm a little older now so I very much appreciate the smoother ride of the BRZ over the GR86

Ayyyy. I got a silver BRZ as well (such a great color with lots of potential for wrapping or for decals). Love how it handles and the manual transmission is super forgiving for a learner like me. It’s my first car I’ve ever bought and it’s really everything I wanted to have (except it takes premium gas 😂). Absolutely love that the torque peaks at around 3.5k RPM’s (don’t have to rev it like a madman to get a boost in power) and the power delivery is super linear. Still breaking it in so I haven’t pushed it like crazy but I can imagine that it is absolutely an experience at high RPM’s

@@andrewchang7194even if it took regular gas you should still use premium gas for your new engine’s sake. Especially in hotter months for best performance. At least that’s what my Toyota Tundras manual explains but it does have 2 turbos

Congratulations on the new BRZ! Any chance of getting a softer front bar and stiffer rear bar to have it handle more like the GR86? And maybe a set of aftermarket steering rack bushings to improve steering feel and precision? I heard the steering doesn’t feel as informative as the first gen.

Yeah I’ll probably want to play around with the sway bars a bit. I never got steering rack bushings on my old BRZ but it might be a good idea on this new car. Once it’s off the squishy winter tires I’ll have do a shakedown and go from there!

Congrats. I bought the gr86 in neptune blue a few weeks ago. Already put 2k miles on it! I was also considering the miata, but here in Canadia the club miata is about 8k more expensive than a loaded GR, which makes zero sense. I went with Michelin x Ice Snows and they seem quite a bit quieter than your tires. Speaking of sound, I think your video finally convinced me to kill the fake sound.

2k miles in 2 weeks is impressive! I only have one car to film next week so it’s going to be catch-up time on break in miles. Yeah the fake sound doesn’t make a lot of sense in a car like this. Luckily it’s super easy to unplug/plug in. Without it this new 2.4 seems like it comes on cam a bit more aggressively than the previous car too, which sounds nice. Excited to finally rev it out without the fake noise!

You can definitely hear it without the enhancement. My main concern was it would be silent without the enhancement but your video was helpful but I still think I would prefer the GR86 for the tighter ride and handling. First time I saw one of your videos was for the C5 Z06 and the exhaust clips were EPIC! I ended up buying a C5 Z06 years ago but eventually sold it. CONGRATS!
