I've bought the CFMoto CL-C 450, with the same engine as yours. I fell in love with the cruiser/custom, it's very confortable, easy to manouver and with a lovely retro style. Here in Portugal, we already have a good quantity of dealerships that represents CFMoto, so the brand is spreading quite nice around here and it fills a gap in the motorcycle industry, which is the mid-cc bikes (300 to 500). We suffer a big jump on taxes when we step from a lower 500cc to a upper 500cc, specially to a upper 750cc (it's literally double de tax value!), so these kind of engines are very welcome
@MotoXGeekАй бұрын
@machotuga1992 I also have the CLC. What a nice bike for commuting and mid range travels. The sport DNA of the engine is still there, even in this retro style motorcycle. This bike made me so happy that I added a 450MT/IBEX450 to my garage two months ago. That mix is a blast! Thinking on letting go the CLC next year to try the 450SR-S or the 675SR.

Over the weekend I went to take it out on a ride, when I was coming to a stop and engaged the back brakes no one was home. Obviously it’s a manufacturer defect that’s they’ll fix under warranty but yeah maybe a new recall coming soon.

18:00 regarding Freeway riding on a smaller displacement motorcycle, I agree, a 450 bike like this can handle it, along with my prior Ninja 250R motorcycles believe it or not. They had the acceleration/speed of an average car in my opinion and I got 70,000 miles of riding experience on them, much of it on the 65 mph highway/freeways. Only issue with the 250R's were going up steeper hills, where the power would slow down acceleration by a lot, so fast passing while going up long hills was not possible. Now on a '21 Ninja 650, which can handle all public road situations no problem.

These things are starting to show up for very extensive warranty repairs at dealerships. Several CFMotos are at a dealership requiring engine rebuilds for failed bearings, one floated a valve and the piston smashed the valve. One burned up a crankshaft journal due to oil starvation because the engine wasn't properly spraying oil even though it had enough. Another was leaking oil like hell due to poor seals. The dealership loves it so long as CFMoto's checks don't bounce on the warranty work. Several of which will just get new motors as its cheaper to swap motors than it is to get them completely torn down and rebuilt. CFMoto makes KTMs LC8 series motors which are having a really bad time in the press right now for failing crankshafts and have a long record of damaged valve tappets from poor quality metallurgy. Saying they make KTM bikes/motors isn't a good thing as KTMs have an extremely poor reputation of being hot garbage when it comes to quality and reliability. To use CFMoto and KTM in the same sentence is a negative, not a positive for many people. We'll see how long these things last as the warranty repairs are starting to pop up and if CFMoto gets difficult when it comes to honoring warranty repair work by dealerships and ultimately cost the dealerships more than what they get back from it, you'll see them get dropped. As the age old adage goes, you get what you pay for.

Garchessy's comment on the 450 engine being a KTM design and was handed over to CFMoto does not add up. Fact checked timelines. KTM and CFMotos partnership started in 2013. KTM tossed the 490 ideas around starting back in 2019. CFMoto has stated their 450 has been in development for the last 3 years and the 675 engine started after that by adding another cylinder because of sharing the same bore and stroke. So, with this partnership why has KTM not asked CFMoto to make a KTM version they can market with this engine for them. Then after the 450SR/SS was launched in the summer of 2022 it takes till January 2023 for KTM to officially announce that the 490 engine tooling and cost would be too expensive for them and it is to close of an engine size to the 690 lineup. Why if Garcheesy's comments are true has this not happened yet. The 690's DNA is from the 790. CFMoto has apply for a patent and is pending with their in house design of the 450 engine. Fact checked true.

I would argue that even 30.000miles isn't exactly that much If it's a fun bike only for the weekend might be alright. Use it to commute and you gonna have these 30.000 in maybe 2 years

Bro what could you actually learn in 1k miles in a year... did you ride it once a month? Everyday riders like myself can do 1k in a month.
@juliusjacob1416Ай бұрын
Use your brain. The guy obviously rides tons of motorcycles. He owns probably a couple, loans tons of bikes for reviews… Obviously he rides way more miles than 1k per month just not on one bike.

Did you miss where he acknowledges 1000 miles is not a big accomplishment and it is what it is. He is just being trueful because it is about to be given away. Lets just say he did not make this video and the bike is given away. What would your question to him be. Maybe: Well Chase you gave the bike away how's come you never made a video on your thoughts on the 450? His answer a I'll get right on that. Whichever way this would have happened someone would- well- here we are.

I don't think you've marketed any brand as hard as CFMOTO. Is this true love or just a cushy sponsorship?
@chaseontwowheelsАй бұрын
Can’t be a sponsor if I’m not paid. lol
@Arte-FishАй бұрын
They are getting way more views on vids involving cfmoto so they are encouraged to make more vids on it given how sponsors pay for higher viewership
