Honestly speaking, fancy features like traction control and all doesn't matter much for an everyday casual rider in the city - it's the smoothness of the engine, power delivery etc. that matters the most, atleast for me. It's the very reason why I bought a Yamaha R7 few weeks back, instead of a CBR600RR or a Ninja ZX-6R. Feels and handles like butter. Absolute gem of a motorcycle. I guess R3 would be no different.

Yamaha is missing out a big chunk of the market by being reluctant to launch two more bikes based on the same engine. A Tenere 300 and an XSR/RD 300 under 5L OTR. A T3 would be a proper unicorn tier bike and the xsr would be more like the rebirth of the notorious rd350. Yamaha would sell like hot cakes considering its reliability, looks and nostalgia. Really informative review brother. Keep up the good work. People like you could express the opinion of the public to the brand. Yamaha already said they would produce T3 if there is enough demand. They certainly has the techological capability and resources. Sadly, they are now making bikes for people who don't care about the brand while conveniently avoiding their true connoisseurs. ✌️

Now after the pricing of Aprilia RS 457, Yamaha must reconsider the pricing (if what you have speculated ) of R3, else it will be dead on arrival 😊

In the current market where this segment has already moved to release bikes with electronic aid, connectivity options, hell some some car features (rtr 310 ref), I don't think just a barebones parallel twin will cut it and that to at a price where people get this segment for cheaper on road price. The R15 has set a benchmark of sorts when it comes to design and performance in its category and it doesn't look like they are bothered to do the same in the 300+ cc segment. Yamaha probably might get the quick shifter when they launch this in India. (Given R15 comes with one). But that isn't going to be enough to justify to buy this over the 310RR or RC390. (Practical justification not emotional!)
