In this video Rory discusses what the dumper goes through. What does the dumper feel after a breakup?

What does the dumper think during No Contact? As Rory explains in this video usually your EX is feeling free and a sense of relief due to the breakup. My question to you is, is that if you've been broken up for a few months and you've started talking to an old friend from High School that you connected to really well back then, how do you know when its a good time to come clean with your ex that you've moved on? Its been 9 months since I talked to my ex. I just want to let everyone know it gets easier. I’m not saying you’ll feel 100% better but you’ll start feeling a little better everyday. Some days are good and some will still be bad. Healing will not be an overnight process it takes time. One day you’ll think you’re good and then one day you’ll start crying and missing the person. One day you’ll miss them and still want them back. Another day you’ll feel like things weren’t working out so it was better for things to end and that you deserve someone who will never give up on you. Just focus on you and realize that you’re in charge of your own happiness. Don’t allow someone to have control of it.

I got into a new relationship and things are really turning around. My new partner is called self development and she is really one hell of a gal. I honestly feel a lot better than I was inside the relationship. I am forming my dream body and really discovering things about myself I never knew. I am experimenting with clothing styles and meeting new girls. Focus on yourselves and take this as an opportunity to create a new you. This makes sense now, when you go complete no contact you are in turn rejecting them. They then think, hey that's not how this is suppose to work, I rejected you you're suppose to want me more. It confuses them and their psyche. Then they start to think about you more.

i agree with you but sometimes the dumper does let go because the dumpee was neglecting them A LOT. sometimes its best to lower your pride and actually reach out to the dumper and win them over again. the question is WHY did the person let go. if it was about neglect snd needing to value oneself then no contact will push them further apart when all was needed was extra love and time

My breakup 21st November 2022 I moved out after she said it's over the following 2 weeks I tried getting her back and when that didn't work I went no contact on 10th December after finding her on dating site. January 4 she deleted her dating account. I know she isn't with anyone new I think she couldn't find anyone to date. I'm not sure if leaving the dating site is her rethinking our relationship but I won't reach out I'll stay NC her 60th birthday is January 11th I won't reach out as I think my silence my absence on her 60th birthday will work in my favour

Time duration for getting over your ex is different for everyone. It's been 10 months for me and I am 95% over her. I do not even want her back anymore there are better women out there. The first 6 months I thought I will never be able to recover. No matter how long it takes but you will move on eventually and will be back to your self again.

When feeling like you are physically dying and you're too upset to work, too restless to sleep, too worried get any rest, I can assure you listening to Rory and getting off your ass will get you through. I promise. I had the worst relationship of my life come to an end (for countless reasons). I had guilt, was depressed, and did whatever to get her back. Through the progressive journey and getting back into dating after around 6 months of being single, I met my current girlfriend. We will officially be a couple as of Dec. 9th! It’s been about 2 weeks since Iv gone no contact, in fact I’ve removed myself completely from all socials. I’m going to be honest right now it sucks big time. I really do believe once someone is done numbing the situation by distracting themselves(my ex) it will start to sink it slowly, and then hit like a train. My ex dumped me about 3 weeks ago, but we work together in close quarters and she’s gone out of her way to remain friendly with me. I’m terrified that being forced to remain in light contact will ruin any chance I could possibly have at letting her realize what she’s giving up before it seems too late, and I don’t quite know what to do.. Remember this is an emotional rollercoaster no one gets a smooth ride. There will be plenty of ups and downs through the next few months. Take the pain at face value and just accept you are grieving. Let it pass through you and you’ll start to feel better. My ex left me for wanting to “do things with other people” and I was destroyed by it. She dropped off all my clothes the next day and said she is gonna delete me off her social media. I suffered for a while but you have to realize that you are a gem. Take away the sex from other people and you’ll find other people your ex may see don’t have much to offer. Other People can be pretty shallow but you have depth to you and your ex can not deny this. Let them discover there is a reason why they spent the amount of time they did with you. When it comes to love You aren’t competing with anyone else, you are in a league of your own. You are apart of them. They spent years or months with YOU not anyone else. You have chemistry and memories with them. You are the prize. Don’t chase your ex and let them determine their value to you by them reaching out to be in your life. I’m no longer waiting for a text from my ex. I’m moving on and becoming a better version of myself. I’m becoming the person I always wanted to be since I was little. You have nothing anchoring you down anymore, you can become anything you want to be. Internalize that this is a process and you will get hurt but as long as you remember your worth isn’t what other tell you, but what you tell yourself and will be just fine.

If you can get in better shape and have a new look, it will definitely help. If nothing else, it will help your mindset. Stop looking at it as a negative that you work with her. Look at it as you have all of these opportunities to show your growth. My ex no longer works with me, and I have no way of showing my growth, unless she checks my social media, so at least you have a way to show your growth. But focus on yourself right now and have the time of your life

Hey Rory. Great video as always. I am in the same boat as a dumpee. My wife of 16 years and I (have two kids together) recently separated and moved into our own separate apartments two weeks ago. Still very early. The first week I stayed over her apt twice, had dinner at her place twice and then she stayed over my place once. Then I decided to go no contact the fifth day being separated. Since then, I let her initiate ALL of the contact and I do not contact her at all. I also do not ignore her if she does contact. Not even about the kids. I see her a few days a week but that is because she drops off the kids so that she can go to work in the evening and then pucks them up. But about 2 minutes total. Since then, she contacts me about the kids, she has wondered if I ate one evening, she has wondered if I got home safe one day, thanks me for hanging out with them one day, communicates troubles with her apartment, says good night, tries to kiss me, etc. any thoughts or any other videos that would help in my situation?!?!

So much truth. I found Rory being dumped, but I'm now feeling the dumper experience. I absolutely know I can't be with my 6yrs ex, but I am feeling some serious remorse for my actions and inactions in the 6yrs. FAB is very real, she was horrid to me sometimes (drinking) and even though I know her actions, I'm totally giving her the benefit of the doubt. I want her forgiveness, and absolutely forgive all her actions. I don't feel like I've wasted time, I 100% cherish what we had. And for clarity's sake, I left her almost a year ago.

My ex the dumper was already with someone else before breaking up with me. He was with a stranger for months before he broke up with me! He ignored me while i was taking care of my dying mother for 6 months in the hosoital & nursing home. I was always there for him any time he needed me. I always ecouage him when he told me his dreams. I sacrifice for him. I did not suffocate him, nor was i ever demanding. Days after my mom died i found a picture of him & his new girlfriend on a public website. While i was going through hell, while he was happy with his new girlfriend. He didnt care about me. If he had sincerely cared for me, he wouldnt have been interested in some stranger. He didnt suffer at time! Not all dumpers feel pain. My ex felt no pain. He cocooned himself in a new relationship & was happy.

Addendum: Found out my ex married "the stranger" 5 months ago. He barely knew her a year. Im sure he is putting her through the same crap he did to me for a decade. He was a coward....he was never there for me when times were tough (ex: 2 deaths in the family, he stayed away. No shoulder for me to cry on, i had to go through it all alone). He would also vanish for weeks, months & 1/2 a year. When he did come back he never wanted to talk about it. I now suspect he was seeing other women. Its crazy how the "love goggles" allowed me to constantly overlook the red flags & forgive him. Bottom line..... he never once made me a priority. If the person you are with never ever makes you a priority, say good bye, they will never truely appreciate you! Its not love. My ex didnt want to be a lone or lonely. He gave me bits & pieces of his time. He constantly promised para siempre & te amo. Never again will i fall for someone who can not show me that i am a priority! Do not settle!

Alex, I tried no contact in hope to get her back and i was successful first time and the second break up I tried no contact again and what happened is every time they contact you they take you down and bring you back to the first day of the break up to the same major pain.. thats why is better to walk away and never look back because hope is your biggest enemy. Cutting all contact is peace of mind trust me. And sure you ll have your up and down days but it’s better than to leave with false hope. 1 year after a break up and he still did not regret his decision. We share a child together but he left me for someone else. I broke up with him because it was toxic (I was awful with anxiety and needed him emotionally but mostly what ye does is he calls me sensitive and mentally ill and feels like he doesn’t care about me as much), but lonely me missed him thinking that loving him more could actually make the relationship better. I reached out and believed it was actually getting better. It was a good start, we both apologized and just worked it out, until my stress from work kicks in, I needed to be vulnerable, I needed him to be there with me just to listen even virtually since we are in LDR. I was starting to cry from existential crisis and he’s not even reading my messages, when he did he only told me that there was really something wrong with me, I had to set aside my anxieties just to talk to him by message on how to meet him half way and what I needed to do to understand where he is coming from. I communicated my feelings as well and he told me that I never change. Then blocked me. I was dumped I guess. I blocked him too

I can't help but wonder in my situation, who was the REAL dumper. They were so disrespectful, no contribution to the relationship, I was the only one investing into the relationship. I told them I was unhappy with how the relationship was going and gave my reasons. It didn't stop. I finally said, "I'm outta here"! I don't feel any of this and the only regret and anger towards myself for actually allowing myself to tolerate it for almost 2 months. I feel they were the true dumper by disrespecting me and pushing me away and contributing nothing. I came here hoping to hear that this is what they are experiencing. A friend told me, they are now social media stalking after three and a half weeks of No Contact. i just want them to feel the pain and anger I felt when we were in the relationship.
