Came back for second interview and the final question was "Why should we hire you" which i responded "Because I'm a forward thinker, a Hard worker and I'm ready to take any challenges head on. @paulanthony40893 жыл бұрын
We all are here because we made it through the first interview, congratulations! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Honestly just be yourself as you were in the first. We as human beings can tell when something is genuine. I literally told him I might not have the experience but all I need is a chance to prove I can do the job. That was my closing statement. As cliche as that might sound, it worked. I do have relative experience but not the years in the field that it requires. But hey if Trump can be President who's to say you can't do the Job. Just food for thought. Nobody goes into a job knowing exactly what to do. It's the hiring management that decides if your capable of doing the job efficiently, efficiently and I empathize on that because that's a key word only a handful knows.

Hello Mr. Georgevich, I month ago I applied for this really good company. During the process I was scheduled for a second interview, and I explained to my wife that I really needed to get this job. So, I began looking at videos on passing the 2nd interview. I repeated your video over and over till I remembered almost everything you said. They called me back for a 3rd interview. Then I went back to your videos to keep me locked in. In both interviews they asked almost the exact questions you bring up. I was ready. I start February 1st, 2021 with a 33% increase from my present salary. I hope I bump into one day so I can buy you a drink. Thanks again

I’ve been working there for almost 2 months and I’ve just been living it up and trying to prove to them that they hired the right guy. Within my first month of working there 4 people called the store to give me a good review on my customer service! And last week they called me in for my first performance review. At 2 months of working there they decided to give me a $2.50 raise. Usually people get their first raises around 6 months and it’s usually only a $1 raise. Thank you so much for your tips again man, they’ve really been paying off for me!!!

The first interview is often on Skype. The second will be in person. That means you're on the short list & competing w/ other highly qualified candidates (at least one other person, possibly more). I agree on the battle plan if it's general business. If it's academic, have a plan for specific classes you're to teach. If it's designing floral arrangements, have a portfolio of your best designs. I would not try to demonstrate enthusiasm. I think showing poise & self-control & using a somewhat neutral tone are best, but w/ a pleasant expression. These people will be working w/ you, & they want grace under pressure, not a comedian.
@DonGeorgevich5 жыл бұрын

You are interviewing the employer when the employer is interviewing you. Watch for anything that suggests the place is toxic. It could be small things (tips of the iceberg) that reveal it, like an employer saying you need to live near the work site. That could indicate they will be calling you at a moment's notice to cover work when others call in sick. The only power a job candidate has is the power to say "no" to an offer. If it is a bad match for you & you take it anyway, you'll either be back on the market soon, or stuck in the equivalent of a bad marriage.

Great, Don! Making the plan of actions to that job. You understand their pains, challenges. Give examples of team-player. Communicate effectively with them. Specific examples of things you’ve done. In my last job my boss was terrified of Irony, until I flattened it out. Profits increased that quarter 75%. But after that a week passed and there was no call made, no email sent so I sent them an email in which I asked em that I appeared in the second interview and was told that h.r will call me, and I told em just wanted to follow up on that as ive already appeared in other interviews and they are calling me etc etc. They sent me the offer letter and appointment induction an hour later and called me to bring my documents the next day.... Point being sometimes they dont call or forget to call, so simply email or call them and ask that I need to follow-up, this way you will get the info u need that either you are hired or not, better thn hanging in the middle...

1. It's OK to stumble on your questions (1 or 2), that shows you are a human being, don't worry that much, just move on 2. Make sure you have plans on how you are going to do this job: how you are going to overcome the challenges facing in this position, have a 3-6 months plan to share - no matter it's right or wrong, that shows your are enthusiastic about this job 3. Let them know you understand their problems (challenges, hurdles), repeat it back to them - make sure this message come through the interview 4. Don't just say "I'm a team player", give past examples to show how you have worked with teams to accomplish certain things, put it in context, show them you can lead, teach and share the knowledge - what the company is looking for 5. Be prepared to talk about specific examples from your work - they want to dig deeper your ability to do this job. Instead of telling them "Yes I can do that", tell them "Here's how I have done that before, let me give you an example ... here is a project I've worked on..." to communicate you are extremely qualified and knowledgeable to do this job, remove all the doubts from their minds 6. Imagine you are the interviewer, think of what questions will you ask the candidate to qualify him/ her for the job - those are the questions you should be prepared for. Think of the past experiences and projects you've worked on, (re-)write them down in detail so they are fresh in your mind. In the interview you will have pressure and difficult to quickly remember everything without prep 7. They are going to dig deeper what your plans are for this position (it's a test) - what you think about it, how are you going to do it, what tools/ resources you need, how are you going to overcome certain hurdles...if you can talk about past experiences of how you have been successful, you will put them at ease that you are able to handle similar problems 8. Make sure everything you say is consistent in the 1st and 2nd interview 9. Give them a good, firm handshake and look them in the eyes, smile (also while you are talking - but don't over do it, be natural), show them you are happy to be there

well, a five year old can play fur elise correctly, and so does a world class pianist. But playing without any wrong notes doesn't make a five year old as good as the pianist, it's the ways they interpret the piece that make the difference :)

Thank you for the great advice! I agree it is so important to focus on the results you can bring to the employer, rather than focusing only on your skills and past experience.

Hi Don - A very valuable series to take a candidate through the interview process. I've been through the process a number of times in my career, but the 'refresher' has a lot of value. The question I have is - In a 2nd interview when I'm sharing examples of my experience relative to challenges, do you have any rule-of-thumb on how much time I should spend talking, and how much the hiring manager should spend. The internal question I ask myself is, "Am I talking too much?" Thank you.

You are awesome Sir. I made a comment on one of your videos and it probably echoed negatively. Most job interviews wouldn't even tell you why you were declined. They will shoot a feedback message to you, telling you they are moving forward with another candidate, even though you did your very best through the interview. As frustrating as this scenario may sound, these self-centered companies are killing more talents than they are acquiring.

I remember applying for a teaching position at a primary school where I would facilitate students through the teaching Spanish and French. I never thought I would have been selected and asked to teach mathematics by the principal and this he sent in an email message. I then replied to that same message saying, "Since the position for which I have applied does not require the teaching of mathematics, would I have to infuse a math concept in one of my lessons?". He never replied. In the evening of that same day, he called and asked me to teach Spanish and I was happy, to say the least. All of the teachers/applicants taught mathematics and were EXTREMELY good. They each had lesson plans to submit except me (it didn't occur to me to draft one). I taught for ten minutes, I was asked to teach Spanish classes after the first interview and on two occasions. I was never told what the decision was concerning my vacancy or acceptance. I wonder what one should do in situations like these because I thought I was called back on two occasions because the interviewers liked my teaching methods.
