@@stevehangen2905 That could be the case, and no doubt it often is, but another point to take into the account is the few bars where there is a lul in the singing, between the soft and growl vocals. Its a perfect place and say what you think so far. Its sometimes hard to tell what is real and fake in the reaction vids though.
@ManWithoutThePants
@ManWithoutThePants 4 жыл бұрын
@@jasonyoung7705 I agree. There are certainly people who react to certain videos because they know that they will bring more views, but that place is quite natural place to pause since there is a pause in singing and song is clearly having some transition. On the other hand they paused just in the middle when she started to sing high, which was in my opinion a little bad place to pause so I'm leaning towards a genuine reaction.
@Ichthyodactyl
@Ichthyodactyl 4 жыл бұрын
@@ManWithoutThePants I think that's one of the reasons it's such a popular request, people often know it's "metal", so it subverts the expectation enough for the reactors to feel the need to comment on it during the 'lull'. This song is the perfect bait and switch.

@@pahtrashiastar3634 The main reason I love metal music, heavy, death and hardcore to say the least, so much is because it helps me release those kinds of pent up feelings and emotions, and aggression to be sure. Metal IS my therapy. I've never been self, for lack of a more suitable word, destructive in that way, but I can understand it. I feel for you. Be strong and keep on rockin' out. I listen to metal when I go to sleep. It plays all night until I wake up and I actually feel calm and refreshed in the morning. Ready to hit the day head-on. Live and love life.

"I think she's better than the musicians... but they're ok." HAHA, these are some of the best musicians in metal. Vladislav Ulasevich is an amazing drummer with a huge range, Eugene Abdukhanov is an absolute beast on bass, and Roman Ibramkhalilov is consistantly voted among the top European metal guitarists today. I agree though, Tatiana steals the show.

I feel like Tatiana is simply such an outstandingly talented (and hard working) vocalist... There are many amazing drummers, but I don't know another person with this range. (Don't get me wrong tho I personally am a HUGE fan of the rest of the band too, you're fully correct abt them)
@TheBlackAxe1

Well, until we hear another assortment of musicians behind her, I stand strongly in my opinion that It wouldn't be the same experience with a different band. Those incredibly talented musicians are what make the band Jinjer. Without them, it would just be some band with the amazing vocal force that IS Tatiana. On the obverse side of that, the band could never replace Tatiana and gain the devoted following that Jinjer has. Just my thoughts. 👍🤘

And you just summoned the Jinjer Army. :) This song has the shock factor, and Tati (Tatiana) is overshadowing the rest of the band, but they are actually all extremely talented and play on a very high technical level (Eugene on the bass, Roman on the guitar and since 2016 Vlad on the Drums). Some suggestions if you want to check out more (can be done roughly in that order): Teacher, Teacher - Another great song and a little closer to their other stuff, but they are very varied. Perennial - You can do either the official video or the one live at Wacken, or both, since they are both worth watching. I Speak Astronomy - Official video on this love song, and the most personal for Tati, next to Pisces. Who Is Gonna Be The One - Live one for this. Lyrically more straight forward, but excellent instrumentals and stage presence, and to see how deep she can growl. On The Top - Live in Kiev. Official video is okay, but a little weird to me. Pit of Consciousness - Live in Kiev and / or official video. I prefer the live one a bit more but both are worth watching. Judgment & Punishment - Official video and / or live in Melbourne. Again I prefer the live version, but the video is funny too. Sit Stay Roll Over - One of their harder songs, maybe better towards the end when you are ready for it.

@@tattooedman42 @DerekCharette Exactly what tattoedman42 said. I don't care for Killswitch or Architects as far as how good they are technically. Soilwork... some things yes some things are boring as hell. Van Halen and In Flames are amazing in two very different styles, and different from Jinjer also and that album from Scar Symmetry is probably their best but I won't ever say that is better than this album from Jinjer actually, I think Jinjer's compositions are amazing even thou I much prefer the more melodic approach of Scar Symmetry... so there you have it. I absolutely think that Tatiana's talent is unheard before but yeah, I get your point: no overhyping please.

It's fun because a lot of artists are blending the classic metal screams and growls into other styles, creating changing moods and different characters with different voices. A lot of people don't know a lot of the theater kids are also "rockers and metalheads" and they're turning out to be some amazing composers. I was shocked particularly by her ability to switch between vocal styles quickly the way she does, clearly dedicated to perfecting her craft.

They've had two concerts scheduled in my area since I started listening to them. First one was last fall but by the time I went looking for tickets they were being scaled online for over $100. When they announced another show for May this I bought tickets as soon as they went on sale but I think we all know what happened there...

@@pakoken Not comparable, imho. Both are insanely good, for sure.. but you still can hear that they're female. Tatjana's growls are so low, it's really special. (...and yeah, it's a studio recording.. who knows how much subtle pitching or distortion went into this recording)
@horsepuncher95
@horsepuncher95 4 жыл бұрын
@@chobe78 Agreed, Angela was the very first female guttural vocalist I ever heard way back in the 2000's and she was a trailblazer in that regard, but you can often hear the higher octave pitch that tips you off it might be a female vocalist doing the screaming but Tati is a rare one there aren't too many I find comparable to the deepest male guttural vocals in the genre
@chobe78
@chobe78 4 жыл бұрын
@@horsepuncher95 Yeah, but on stage she sounds much closer the other female growlers. This and the fact that she always skips the most difficult part of the song on stage (skip = continue growling instead of high cleans) is why I'm sure that this "live" version of Pisces isn't even close to "live". ;)
