Hey guys, here's a tutorial I filmed 3 months back with Kru Nok (Panomroonglek Kiatmookao) in Singapore at Evolve MMA, where he shows 3 muay thai combos with a focus on boxing. With over 200 Muay Thai fighters, and over 50 boxing matches, Kru Nok shares how to use your hands to set up knees, kicks, and elbows.

Thanks for this video! I would have liked he do this in orthodox, but hey I've been asking for a video about good boxing techniques to use in muay thai for awhile now so Thanks Shane. I've come up with combos of my own that I use during sparring; however I think I wanna add that push > roundhouse to the body to my arsenal especially. Even just on its own, that can stop them from blocking it cause theyre off balance after the push.

Did your scar get cut again on the same point? İ had a cut with 3 stiches. When the stiches are removed i began to fighting and 1.5 weeks later same place has cut and needed 5 stiches. İ didnt spar for 1 month then start sparring with cheek guarded headgear. (Cut is on cheek btw) the scar is fine now its getting whiter it looks good. But i have a amateur boxing fight in 2 months and there will be no padding on my cheek bone. Can it be open again?

Hey Shane, I was hoping you could elaborate on the differences in proper punching form and technique between Muay Thai and Boxing. I've noticed a distinct and consistent difference in punching form across several styles. Specifically in the way rear straight punches appear to be thrown between MT, Boxing and Karate and the way hooks are thrown between MT and Boxing.

You need help dealing with someone bigger than you? Im gonna assume this is muay thai rules, or else a street encounter. Anyway. They run at you? Teep to the gut or teep to the lead leg. Stomp on that leg if its an enemy and not a sparring match. As long as you are drilled and versed in throwing teeps/front kicks you will be way WAY too fast for an untrained guy to catch your kicks, and even if he does only at the tail end, you'll still be able to withdraw and not get caught. If a big guy is chasing me down in sparring, I withdraw but I do it in a pattern. I'll go one step back, then to the side, then as he advances again I'll nail him with a cross down the middle or a left hook to the head(they rarely expect this even after i do it to them many times lol). You need to train, though. if you cant for whatever reason, start shadow boxing. Then find a gym when you get the finances, but shadow box with good technique(if you can) and work on your standard punches, and on the teep. Keeping your guard up also makes it very difficult/impossible for someone to rush in and clinch you, since you can just shove them away, and nail them with punches on their way in, and on their way out(after you've shoved them).
