Camping, bushcraft and survival for 3 days of adventure in the bush.
This solo trip is where I learn how to be just as comfortable in the wild during the summer as I am in the winter. I built this off-grid tent shack with my own hands. It's not perfect, but it actually is perfect. It's stood strong for 2 years and it's not slowing down. This is my little bush camp paradise in the world and I love it. I have been learning and teaching myself over the last few years to be better in the wilderness, to get comfortable, to test myself, and stand up to my fears. I'm not young, but I believe I am living my best life when I do the stuff that is new to me.
Join me as I make delicious food, drink strong coffee, make a ladder that falls apart, ration my drinking water, make fires, start the wood stove, do some fishing and swat mosquitoes in the wilderness in Canada's North.
Feel free to like and sub if you enjoyed this video and are looking for more.
Have a great day.
Jay

Good to see you having some fun on your place in the summer Jay! I’ve done quite a bit of backpacking and kayak camping, and I’ve always carried a water filter. You can get one for pretty cheap, and it’s well worth it. I even filter rain water. I’ve never had any issues.

Hi Jay , You only need to boil water for 3 minutes . Ay more it will taste ' flat' . A Berkey filter is what you really want to feel completely safe without boiling. You need a cast iron frying pan and Dutch Oven for your camp cooking. Great seeing you in the ' Soft Water' season. Stay safe from the fires this summer my friend. Ontario Canada.

How precious is water in our lives. From farming to forests, to rivers and lakes to everyday life. Yet how we pollute everything we touch. We can live longer I'm sure without food than we could without water 💧. Imagine if flies were nutrional, but...ewhh...they ain't. Little "bug"ers! We'd also think about drinking 🚱 that lake water. Glad it rained so you at least got some less risky water. Enjoyed this video and know there's more to come. Enjoy.

Hi Jay, really good to see you at the tent, this is the reason I am subscribed to your channel. I like seeing you at the tent and enjoying yourself and keeping us entertained. I don't really care about campers in a campground. I can see the excitement in your face when at the tent. I am absolutely convinced that if you take the lake water and boil it for 20 minutes, you will be fine. When in town, go to a water company and get a sterile container and have a sample of your lake water analyzed. It will make you feel better.
@jaylegere
@jaylegere 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks John. I agree, the tent can't be beat. But it is so much easier to access in the winter and that's a big reason I rarely go there when it's open water. That said, it was a good experience this trip.

Hey there Jay I have a van that i go camping in. I got stuff to have on hand in case of emergencies. One is a filter straw. You can filter pond water through it and it makes the water safe to drink. All you do is hang it. It drains into a bag really fast. I got it from Amazon. It was under 20 bucks. There are other ones too. For a lot more money theres the Berky water filter. It doesnt take power it just drains into the bottom. Anyway, just some fyi's for ya. Then you wont have to worry about not having enough water. Have fun out there, be safe, and God bless

Jay, awesome vid. Just a thought, why don't you have any water purifying tablets in your pack. There cheap, and they work. Also get yourself a teflon coated pan, and a tin plate. when you eat out of the pots you are using to cook with, you tend to scratch the bottom which causes food to stick. The old timers used cast iron, because they didn't have light weight teflon pans. they are also so easy to clean. Look forward to your next video.

Hi Jay, try putting a layer of Reflectix bubble wrap from the hardware store that has a small bubble wrap middle layer sealed in a durable layer of aluminum foil, directly on top of your cot, then build your foam and whatever on top of that. Don't put it directly under your wool blanket or sleeping bag. Put it on your cot and then build your foam layer and so forth on top of that. Warm!
