I've been waiting for this particular video for so long. It's bloody amazing what you can squeeze out of a well-binned 2x16GB kit on an X570 platform nowadays. Can only imagine how much more nuts it'll become with the better memory controllers on the upcoming 4000 series CPUs.

Buildzoid, this is a dumb question probably, but assuming exactly the same speed and timings, what is better. 4x8 (single rank) DDR4 or 2x16 (dual rank) DDR4. I know that both will technically amount to dual channel dual rank RAM for a CPU with 2 memory controllers, but will they be the same in performance or is there some difference?

Do you by chance plan on playing around with Renoir for memory OC? Monolithic nature comes with higher FCLK and no more 32B/Cycle (or 16B/Cycle Write) bandwidth limits, so desynced 5G+ might even be viable?

anyone got more tips on voltage with C-die. i got it basicly maxed at 1.38v 3400 mhz. what timings other then tcwl are voltage heavy? i tried to follow buildzoids guide but my pc wouldnt restart. more voltage wouldnt fix it. soc @ 1.2v cpu at 1.4 just to rule it out(also oc'd the memory seperately from the cpu. if i run 1 dimm i can get 4300mhz but its ueseless with the single stick and horrible timings. would appreciate any help bois thanks. ryzen 5 3600 msi b450 tomahawk max cheers 2x 16gb hyper x 3200 cl 16- both samsung c die please help

i just got 2 sticks of 3600 cl 16 ballistix gaming used for 100$. the guy bought 16 gb kit by mistake. woo. ordered 2 more to match. had 32gb kit of kingston hyper x 3200 and some team group shit from 2018. had them oc'd to 3400 stable. the 2 crucial dimms alon rape the 3400 4 dimm setup. my infinity fabric will do 1900 is my memory can

I'm happy with R9 3900X cpu and my micron rev.e 3200 cl16 at 3800 cl16-19-16-16 timings(stable with karhu ram test 10K+). But because of that win sleep bug with this Asus c6h board I have to run them with 3600 with same timings for 24/7 run. It is time to upgrade this board when AMD releases them zen3 cpu's. And then I'm going to try again where is the limit with these micron memorys

RFC is a lottery with microns e-dies, my old kit could do 540 (c9bjz) and rp of 15, but it tops out at rcd 19 at 3800 (or even 20 with gdm off), new kit with c9bkv (3600 u4r) can do RCD of 17, but it's unstable with rp less than 17 and can't even boot with RFC lower than 560.

i have 2x8GB Ballistix elite 4000 and i can't go more than 4200 17-20-20-39 how unlucky am i !!!!!! i thought my i7 10700k and gigabyte aorus elite ac would do at least 4500 with decent timings. vccsa vccio 1.35-1.30 dramv 1.45-1.50.It doesn't even do 4266 with crazy loose timings.

Have you tried a 4x 8GB / 2x 16GB DR 1:2 setup with zen2? I've seen screenshots that shows that it kinda scales atleast on 2CCD chips (3900X 3950X).

Yes, as the person above me pointed out. It runs at half of that speed 2.5 Ghz . I've already thought over it a million times. Technically DDR5 will run at the speeds of your general CPU up to 3.2 Ghz.

This is where the peltier cooler argument works: temperature controlled RAM IC's. Sure you need a ton of power and it'll dump a ton of heat out of the heatsinks, not to mention a custom temperature monitor/controller for the coolers themselves, but the clock gains can't be denied.

Yes i had 4750G in testing for about a week or so. 2200 IF was stable in Windows. 2300 was not . However due to lower amount of L3 cache 4750G consistently and repeateadly lost to my 3800X in games (CPU limited, 1080p low). Cost me 310€ (MSRP). Unless you need the best iGPU available i would not bother. The high IF and memory clocks do not make up for lower amount of L3. Or if you want something to tinker with. That's why i love OC-ing APU's: CPU, RAM and iGPU can all be OC'd. Then trying to find stable settings with all 3 OC'd is always fun.

Yo, my G.skill neo (4x8G) runs 1,46V (socV 1,037 V with LLC4 ) 3800-14-14-14-14-28-42-250-T1 on x570 formula with 3950x Aida read 5900-6000 write 5500-56900copy 63000-63900 latency 64,3 - 63,8. Nice video like allways. Can I imporve this sticks or its fine ?

21:22 I had old Dominator Platinum 16x4 2400c14 Dual Rank B-die from 2015 They can do 3800 16-17-16-36. Finally in 2019 micron can deliver less than 65ns. Funny, how much time micron needed time to catch b-die, but still rev.e sucks with super slow tRFC

Got myself a pair of 8GB Klevv 3600 C18 (KD48GU880-36A180U). Can anyone tell me its chipset? If I check with Thaiphoon, it says Hynix-??R, is it CJR/MFR/DJR? Not sure really. Though by checking MSI QVL it says DJR. How to be certain of it? And how good is DJR?

could be a bad spd report and its not really b die.look for version number on corsair sticks or model number ending with 10c or something on gskill.bdie on gskill would be 10b.

@@mtlspider This is what I have. cmk32gx4m2b3200c16 RAMMon says it's Samsung but nothing about the revision. Thaiphoon Burner says: 8 Gb B-die (Boltzmann / 20 nm) / 1 die. I don't know why 8gb since it's a 2x 16gb kit. (Maybe cause it's double sided?) Also, I'm running a 3900x on an Aorus Elite X570

@@Hxarh its very rare for 3200 c16 to be bdie,even if it was its really bad bdie.its most likely something else and corsair in this case didnt bother programing all the information correctly in the spd chip.look for a version number on the sticks and with some googling that will tell you what ram ICs you really have. edit:now i see its dual rank.well still you want to check version number to be sure.dual rank is harder to run at high speeds then single rank.

@@mtlspider Ver 4.31. So I got the poor man's b-die? Truth be told, I didn't expect to go too high with these sticks, but when I saw it was B-die I figured I had a good shot at 3600mhz. In just five minutes of tinkering, I settled on a pretty stable 3400mhz, but over day's I couldn't hit stable 3466. I did boot at 3600 once but crashed in a minute. When I increase the timings or go past 1.45v, hoping to make it more stable, I can't even get it to post. Thought I'd ask around. Maybe I was OC-ing it wrong.

Any plans to throw in some game benches in some future comparisons? What I don't understand is my PC benchmarks just slightly better with the DDR4 @ 3600Mhz rather than 3800Mhz. IF 1:1 in both cases. Is RAM latency more important than IF clock speeds in gaming? Thanks for the videos :-)

Any crucial ballistix AES, or new 3600/16 cl ballistix modules, but they cost a fair price in UK basically, in other places may not really worth it.

there was a time that would have been impressive, to have 5GHz memory on something like a 5GHz 7700k. however today, I still end up asking, is that enough bandwidth to keep as many cores we have today fed with data? for small loops with small data sets that fit in L3, like games, I doubt it would matter much, yet not all things are game engine small data sets. Hmmm. That is a cool OC for a PC. B)
