I can't believe someone gave this a thumbs down! I really liked the last one with time under tension. I sometimes use something similar every once in a while with a four second positive, a 2 second static hold, and a 4-5 second negative, much like the old Mike Mentzer style of training. Also sometimes I drop some weight and add resistance bands to get a different feel. Great video. Thanks for upload.

Nice content Wenning. Though I give my pecs limited attention and never lifted like most people do, but the results never cease to amaze me. Probably because I give my muscles enough time to rest and recover.

Great video with some great tips and practical applications! If I can add something, push up variations are an outstanding way to build some good pecs - if executed properly. There are tons of challenging variations: on gymnastic rings, suspension trainers, feet elevated, weighted, yoga push ups, etc. Nevertheless, a simple push up with a 3:1:3:0 tempo is hard enough for anyone, more so when you’re at a higher bodyweight

Matt, what's the function of the 5 second ''concentric'' actually? If time under tension is the goal (in this case 5x5 for 50 seconds total) why not using an explosive concentric phase and a 10 second eccentric phase also for 5 sets? Which equals 50 seconds as well.
@WenningStrength4 жыл бұрын
Why not use it all???
@scotthayes61464 жыл бұрын
Just depends on the goal. You're going to invoke a good bit more muscle damage with the 10 sec eccentric which could hinder recovery. For those that are in a calorie deficit, I actually like more concentric work than eccentric- still get in some quality work without digging yourself into a hole that's going to be hard to fill without adequate nutrition (calories). www.wenningstrength.com/collections/manuals www.wenningstrength.com/collections/equipment www.wenningstrength.com/pages/online-coaching

1:!9 can I use a 10kg plate, if I do not have kettebells? Do you think there is also a use for flat dumbbell bench?

Wow “size doesn’t always equal strength”, I kind of agree but I’m surprised to hear a powerlifter say that, I would also expect a lot of powerlifters to get butthurt over that

You are right Sir. The opposite muscle needs to be strong. Dorian Yates was known for his back. Ppl probably didn't notice that his 425lb Incline press for 6 reps was the highest amongst his contemporaries. We really have to train the opposite muscle. Your common sense is most uncommon. What r Ur thoughts on exploding up on the positive and slowing down and controlling the weight on the negative? Stay happy. God bless!!! Insha Allah!!! Joy Baba Taraknath!!! Om Namah Shivay!!!😊🙏.
