I will never ever forget being 14 years old and watching a former homicide detective on Oprah who said: Never ever let someone take you from location A to location B. 2 decades later when I was in my mid thirties I was asked by someone if I would like to join him for coffee. I did. We remained in the bookshop's coffee shop. Then he asked if I wanted to drink something "harder" ie alcohol and those detective's words shot through my head and I politely declined. I was not moving to location B.

I grew up in this area, around men in the entertainment field, and this predator may have lied about being a producer, but there are even real producers who were/are predators. I was always on guard around these men. I know how they throw their power, real or imagined, around. I have been to parties where it took guy friends to get my friends and I out safely. One time, a group of my friends and I were at a party and the guys weren’t letting us leave. It took us getting a couple of good guys to get us out. Be careful who you party with, especially now, with Fentanyl laced drugs. Is that one night of fun really worth your life?

I'm confused as to how any woman could go with men they met at a party, men they weren't dating and trust them to not have nefarious intentions? Men leaving with men, yes, women leaving with women, yes, but women leaving with men they just met? NO. This is not a judgement on these women, I'm nearly seventy years old and just so very confused that people put their trust in stranger's with nothing more to go on than a smile and an assumption.

Dear Women, Remember and spread the message of the Whisper Movement. Tell all the girls and women you know. Whenever a man interacts with you anywhere; school, college, work etc. Always tell your friends every thing about him. Especially if he is a man in a position of power. If he's bad tell them he's bad and what he did. And tell them to spread the word to other women and so on. A man's bad deeds must be known to every woman in that organization. Save any messages that he may send you. Take screenshots. Forward them to women. Quietly share all his dirty deeds and secrets with all the women. Do not let him take the advantage of your silence. Build a network and warn women. Women must know who to stay away from. Spread the word. Do not keep quiet. It's because of silence that men like these get away with so much. So many women had suffered before these two girls but it was unknown to other women. Get together and destroy these filthy incels and ra.pists.

Exactly! I’ve been young and love to party but my thing was to go home. Not with some shady guys to some after party. Many girls did such things for free drugs and some career promises… it’s just not right right. Many girls get raped and won’t say anything and then there’s heartbreaking things like this. You can tell in the party photo that one of the girls is already high and how close that guy was on her and his face expression. Burning man and such places are not exactly for the people who don’t use drugs so these 2 girls were already in it. But should buy their own drugs if they needed any and stay away from VIP people.

modern women...
@3BK235Y5 ай бұрын
Even if she were a single girl, she would be in the wrong place, in the company of the wrong people, and might have been killed all the same. Perhaps her husband was a modern bloke who thought that was perfectly normal, or he was afraid of saying somethig against because she would accuse him of being "controlling". Her behaviour may be strange, but the husband's behaviour is not less strange. As to blaming the victim, I never worry about that. In hundreds of cases in these "crime shows", as they call them, the victim directly or indirectly contributed in bringing about the evil that befell them. Some people have an immense difficulty in accepting that.

I was so freaked out when at 18, my eldest told us she was heading to LA to pursue her singing and modeling career. Her father and ihad rejected a deal with Disney years earlier. We knew she didn't have the maturity..and frankly, the demands, pushiness of Disney, and slimy-ness of other kid's parents, scared the daylights out of us. She held that against us for many years as she watched her peers grow in popularity. But, at 18, we couldn't stop her. Shortly before she was to leave, she met someone on her first shoot as Florida's Gold's Gym girl. She and her now wonderful wife have now been together 21 years. Our daughter was rapidly falling into the drug and party scene and we knew what would happen if she went to LA. She continued to model, sang at benefits by herself and sang back up with...i'll just say, names you'd know. When she was in her 20's, she and her partner treated her dad and I to a resort weekend, specifically to thank us for saving her life. I'm not naive. I certainly did my share of partying when I was young, and got myself into some really bad situations. We knew that what we did trying to shelter her could backfire.. on the other hand, because of some things I went through, I was willing to do anything I could before I lost complete control of her to try and protect her. I'm all too aware of the scumbags out there just waiting for their next mark. We had our experience with some of these entitled entertainment industry people....and parents. Some of the friends my daughter made back then are no longer with us; others continue to lead a life of chaos. I cant imagine what these parents, Jan and friends have to deal with each day. We lost my son to illness almost 2 years ago..the pain never seems to get easier. Maybe its just me, but it certainly seems our children and grandchildren are growing up in a much more terrifying world than we did.
