I played genshin for about a month or two at the beginning of 3.0. I just came back in 5.0, and I find the hardest part of the game for me is obtaining and building teams to play. At this point, I just feel like I'm missing so many pieces to core teams.

I understand how it might seem that way, but from someone that’s been playing constantly since 1.1, it feels like the team building plateaued around 3.0. By this, I mean that since then the game has really only added units that are alternative to existing units, rather than adding characters with unique mechanics that are “must pulls”. They’ve added so many “main DPS” that at this point it’s just pick whichever you like, of course Arlecchino and Neuvillette are great damage dealers that don’t require super specific teams to work. Otherwise, the characters that are key players for most teams are Zhongli, Kazuha, Xingqiu, and Nahida. These four will help you enable the widest variety of teams. Xilonens not out yet, but she’s looking to be on par with Kazuha. Otherwise it’s as simple as getting who you like to start out with, and branching out from there.

you don't need to go for core team straight away ,just pick 5* who can synergize with 4* first .Something like raiden-ben-xl-chev and nahida-xq-kuki-flex is strong team for new account/players to max star the abyss ...pick a flexible 5* that can play well with 4* first

As an Alhaitham and Navia main attempting to build Chevreuse overload teams, I cannot wait to FINALLY have Nahida. Just like with Raiden , my sad 4.7 self has so many archon shaped holes in my team. When I pulled Raiden it was like going to Narnia with all the possibilities. I have been having SO much fun and I can't wait to have even more fun with Nahida thrown into the mix 🎉

(same reasoning w alhaitham and other dendro supports) but it depends what you wanna run with your navia and alhaitham. i wanna go for xilo to treat my queen-but if i were you i’d still go for xilo but i might be based 🤷‍♀️

I am skipping Xilonen mostly because I am partial to male characters 🥰 Now that aside, I personally do not think I will enjoy having to use her on field for several seconds to fill up her gauge to get her buffs. For me I know it will feel like I am interrupting myself As purely a me problem I also have issues with processing visual information in games. I skipped Kinich (and was VERY sad about it) because I cannot tell when his gauge is full or move to his blind spots fast enough and remember to fire the cannon and it just pretzels my brain. I will probably have a similar issue with Xilonen's gauge esp if the grass is the same color. If it wasn't for the fact that Alhaitham's attacks have EXTREMELY well designed audio effects that let me tell immediately by sound how many mirrors he has, he would be impossibly difficult for me. Lastly, for overload I have Chevreuse for resistance shred. I still have no Sucrose and I had to skip Kazuha to save my wishes for Raiden and Nahida but I will pick him up if I don't have a Sucrose by the time he's back. Dendro has Deepwood, and Zhongli has universal res shred. So Xilonen isn't going to be unique enough to justify my limited gems for my account at this point in time. Since I have no Archons I am prioritizing my gems for the archon marathon. Hopefully I can get Mauvika, Zhongli, furina, and Nahida. And if I have enough left for Neuvillette that would be nice and if wrio actually isn't a collective hallucination, I'd use my first time double top up on him 🥺

I ended up pulling Kazuha cuz he has been one of my characters even tho he doesn’t help my acc. that much. 🤦‍♀️ Anyways All the best for your Archon marathon. I am also hyped for Mauvika. Xilonen might end up being her BIS. Hence I’m torn between Xilonen and Nahida. Also, you should definitely pull for Wrio.. he is such a vibe. Not strong but really Chill.

I need them for Arle overload/Mono pyro, Raiden Overload, Wrio Reverse Melt and now with Xilonen I would have to ditch my Navia-Xianyun plunge and bring in Bennet/Xiangling. I kinda think you undervalued her for Ayaka and Itto. Since xilonen provides 0 off-field geo application, she won't trigger shatter. And with Itto slotting in xilonen and furina, then replacing gorou with yelan or bennett, while not traditional, is theoretically better just because of the massive amounts of buffs and off-field damage.

I really hate how bait Chiori’s C1 is, I hate that I’m tempted to get her C1. I pulled her because I like her, but she’s been benched since then, just accumulating cracked Golden Troupe pieces but not using them at all. It will be a lot easier to find a use for her if I can pair her with more Geo Characters. I actually don’t think Hoyo is going to give us more construct characters anymore, they want to bait the C1.

Ive said it before and ill say it again I think C1 Chiori topic is overrated? Here me out, ill explain simply. See most chars have their cons /C1s too that r just what DPS Inc right? Pretty much it for like majority of chars. What do u think Chiori's is? It's a flat DPS inc for ur team,nothing else. The only rsn ppl talk about this a lot compared other ones is cause of "wording/the way the con functions/mindset of ppl that make it seem more crazy than it actually is" Now to lastly point out mathmetically, let's say in an Navia team the difference between C0 v C1 Chiori will be 5-10% Team DPS wise i assume/depending team/investment of other chars/Chiori. That's an avrg estimate amount for most ppl,for some maybe it will be as high as 15-20% i guess.. Not that common,nor is that significant if we go by standards of "Cons of chars in general". Especially newer generation cons than past yrs.. (Am not a TCer and haven't done maths but i can very well assume similar numbers as an experienced enough player) Literally many characters both dps/off field sub dps all have cons ,especially c1 or c2 that range from 5-10% to 20-30% even for a con of DPS inc..,it's not rare enough to the point only Chiori is the highlighted talk. Lastly another example is literally Yelan, an old enough char too and a top meta one too, her C1 is indirectly just lowering her energy needs massive, this could lead to use offensive weapons/ HP sands over ER sands/ER weapons.. Also build more crits ,hp than ER in build.. All that leading to nothing but DPS inc only.. ,her usual way to go at C0 is Fav with HP sands and Aqua isn't always the best choice,sure u can go for it in double hydro but even then need decent ER at C0. Sure i won't lie Aqua Yelan with Emblem of 200% er on C0 will be more Dps than Fav Yelan with HP sands but it's not as high,let alone solo hydro teams also need way more ER,whereas Fav build can smoothly run Solo hydro with HP sands.. All this to say, Chiori C1 is good n all but overrated,and ppl often underestimate how C0 Chiori is also very strong(not saying shes meta or anything but just saying she's not trash at C0 and suddenly becomes op at C1.. Sure it's a shame Xilonen doesn't have a Construct, their duo wouldve been even stronger bur alas.. Sadge i guess lol (As one would say... " I weep for the departed/missed opportunity" )

Way to liberal with your "nah" placements. For any character that deals damage that scales with dmg% or resistance reduction, (besides anemo or dendro) Xilonen is at least a decent option. I will be playing her in monocryo. Maybe get that c2 for 60% crit damage for all other characters.

You're undervaluing Ayaka as is usual nowadays. I've been an Ayaka main for years and I can tell you a healer Kazuha is a godsend. My favorite Ayaka team was yelan Kazuha shenhe for a long time. But it has no healer. Had to pull Kokomo which in my opinion isn't that fun to use in freeze and losing yelan sucks. If Kazuha healed...? Oh boy wouldn't that be good. Now we have furina. So it's mandatory to get rid of Kazuha or shenhe. But Xilonen? You get the best of all worlds. And even if none of this was the case.. she's literally another Kazuha and she doesn't get off field geo. OF COURSE she's good for Ayaka and literaly any other cryo dps. But of course, the narrative that cryo freeze and Ayaka suck

if you dont have Xianyun, Xilonen Bennett Furina is his best team, but we are so close to Lantern Rite that you could wait to pull Xianyun there tbh, what Xilonen do open for Gaming is Melt Teams, but while they get better than right now, they are still not better than the core I previously commented

Hu Tao with Xingqiu, Furina, and Charlotte is an insanely fun and comfy team. The defensive application along with the frequent freezing means that very little will be a threat to them. The rotation is also super easy, with no need to worry about whether Hu Tao vapes or melts. The damage will be high enough to get you through most damage checks no problem.

You should consider ranking sub-dps together in this list. Xilo was made precisely to reduce resistance for 2, 3 characters, otherwise it's not even worth getting her, it would be easier to just farm VV

Nahida is absolutely busted, she enables so much fun comps. She is objectively the better pull, BUT if you like Chiori more get her. Nothing is worth more than your enjoyment.

As Nahida is the only one out of these 4 that I have, I can only give info about her. As someone who used that team for a while, C0 Raiden works really nicely with Nahida. No need to be torn about it. After Nahida came out, with some time, this became my 2nd go to team in the abyss (Raiden hyperbloom, with Raiden herself being the driver, Yelan and Nahida being the dendro/hydro application, and 1 slot for extra elemental checks, or for Xingqiu/Fischl, depending on what was needed.) Only thing is, that after Neuvillette came out, and I got him, he kind of took over as my strongest DPS unit, even stronger than my pretty damn invested melt Ganyu. So dendro only stayed as an option as Hyperbloom Neuvillette with the Nahida + Raiden + Furina team. But even there, they work really nicely together. As you've mentioned as well, I relied on hyperbloom damage a lot mostly because I have only a handful of 5 star weapons, as I never once wished on the weapon banner. With the wise words of general Ackbar: "It's a trap!" As for how effective Nahida is with teams other than Raiden/Neuvillette: I did try Nilou Bloom with a borrowed Nilou in Imaginarium Theater once, it worked nicely, but I'm not sure wether it's due to Nahida's awesome dendro application, or that Nilou's insane build. For Clorinde, I always put Nahida on the team, and it's always nice to have extra damage from reactions (aggravate mostly), but my favourite supports for Clorinde are characters like Yelan/Xingqiu, who have coordinated attacks with her. Maybe even Fischl if you have her on C6. Nahida is a great option for Clorinde for sure, it just doesn't feel as amazing, because there are less numbers popping off when you're beating up opponents with any of the previous 3 missing. I never really built my Tighnari properly, so I can't say anything about his damage output, or best teams, I'll believe Jello on that one, the only lace I ever used mine was in the Imaginarium Theatre, and even there, only for the tower deffense stage, against the ruin guards, because he's an archer, who could stun them for a long time. (I do have his BiS 4 star event weapon though, that thing hits almost as hard as Amos' bow (even on Ganyu, depending on the team and enemy, which was surprising). Maybe even harder, depending on the team/build.) 1 extra team I could recommend, is Yae Miko, Nahida, Furina, with whoever you so choose for the 4th slot, as this team can hyperbloom your opponents even if you're just running around. Pretty handy for one of the Natlan local legend achievements. Note: how is Bennett not BiS for Hu Tao? I always tought her best team is Hu Tao / Yelan / Furina / Bennett Anyway, I'mma pull myself a Xilonen, and hope for the best to gather enough pulls for Mavuika after, even if I have to skip Chaska this way. It kind of hurts, that Xilonen, Chaska, and Mavuika, the 3 characters I was hoping to get the most, are on consecutive patches. As a f2p, I can't really gather primogems fast enough, unless I win all the 50/50's...

@@jayasuriya2606 I'd probably recommend Xilonen for any teams other than aggravate, Nolou Bloom, or Hyperbloom. Aggravate isn't really on top nowadays, heck, I never even liked it, and without Alhaitham, it probably won't be on top anyway. Xilonen however is very versatyle, and can fit on a ton of teams. You said you have father, so her, Benny, Xilonen, and Kazuha perhaps could be an amazing team. As Kazuha's and Xilonen's buffs stack with one another, similarly they stack with Benny, so they can buff up father to oblivion and beyond. If you lack one of them, let's say Kazuha, on such a team, you could always replace him with Furina/Yelan/Xingqiu to make it into a vape Arlecchino team, with insane buffs.

@@AverageRNGHater I'm not using Keqing much, heck, I didn'teven bring her into the Imaginarium Theatre, but I do believe that aggravate is one of her stronger teams, and aggravate needs a ton of off-field dendro application, in which, Nahida is the best. However, there are other options that can also work well with her, like Baizhu, Yaoyao, Kirara (less effective, needs her burst), even Collei (only her burst though) or Dendro Traveler (again, burst only). Alternatively, you can try slotting in a Furina/Yelan/Xingqiu with them, to make it into a hyperbloom team, which are always srong, but in that scenario, Keqin's elemental mastery would become an exceptionally important factor for the team.

Im a Noelle main and I really dont know what to do and many guides dont tell me about it. Ive been using noelle(c6)-furina(c2)-chiori-yelan and with kachina I replaced yelan for natlan stuff which felt great cause she activates chiori. But i dont know if i should go for chiori C1 or xilonen to better my noelle team.

I love the Noelle love. If it's just for this team, you won't need Chiori c1 really since its best value comes with being able to slot her with non-construct teams and you already have Kachina. For Xilonen, you get a geo Natlan support, which would replace Kachina or Chiori. If you replace Kachina, you won't get Xilonen heals (but not necessary since you're maining Noelle) and if you replace Chiori, more of your team damage will come from Noelle. The only reason why i want xilonen, besides her design is the fact that i got so annoyed having to swirl the right elements.. In the end kazuha is just made for grouping in my teams and i just go unga bunga with whichever i swirl.. Edit: to anyone saying it's skill issue.. Sure you can say whatever.. Ugh I was not rolling for Xilonen but she is looking mighty fine. Those booty shorts and tail are killing me. Plus her kit looks super useful. IEspecially on the other side in abyss. First half of this patch is such an easy skip for me sadly. I'm annoyed seeing Chiori rerunning on a banner already when she was just debuting on 4.6 and I had zero interest in her or her kit back then so it's an even bigger skip now when I think Zhongli should've been opposite Xilonen instead. I'd so much rather see one of Hoyo's forgotten 5* cryos actually be let out from the basement. Only reason I'm possibly pulling on the second half weapons banner is if 5.2 reruns don't interest me in the slightest, which I'm not holding my breath for any of the characters I really want more cons of actually showing up anytime soon.

Here is my verdict, ar 60 that has most characters, get Xilonen, If like playstyle go whomever you like. If you dont have a proper pyro dps, go for hutao, if you have alhaitham/Chlorinde go get nahida if you dont have one. For cons a must have is c2 Nahida, c1 Hutao, c2 Xilonen. For weapon, if you like xilonen go get her weapon its a pretty good weapom banner, if you guys have zhongli or xiao go for hutaos weapon banner.

Putting yae in nah for chiori is interesting. One of my favorite teams I consistently clear with is tigh/yae/zl/chiori. Try it out. You just gotta fill a little bit of time with a couple yae normals or a tigh CA, but it's such an easy team. 5 turrets, a big shield, and homing missle arrows.

Disagree with Clorinde. The biggest annoyance with Kazuha is multiwaves and Clorinde is locked in for her skill. Xilonen circumvents that. Clorinde uses the same team styles than dps Raiden but better i.e. aggravate, hyper, overload and taser which Xilonen would help with all.

Xilonen's actually the best option for Nahida Furina Quickbloom teams, because she's the only one who can both build fanfare and res shred through nahida's dendro aura. Your Furina, Nahida, and Electro Carry will all be doing very good personal damage, plus you'll get some decent hyperblooms. Really strong in both single target and AOE. Raiden, Yae, Keqing, Chlorinde, Sethos, and Cyno will all perform quite well here.

I’m not a fan of this video type. Most pull recommendations can’t be generalized into 2-character synergies, so using a tier list format with individual units can be really misleading. It’s not that bad considering you go in depth for each unit, but in the end, it becomes less about which accounts would like these units and more about which characters have at least a team that works with the given 5 star.

The best advice I have for a new player is: Avoid Backpulling Newer characters will keep on coming for at least 3 more years. Power creep is a real thing in this game, but that's not a bad thing. It's a catch-up mechanism. I can almost guarantee come Schneznaya, you'll be glad to have some extra savings heading into that region. And that region is closer than you think.

Eh, nothing wrong with backpulling. I mean, Zhongli is pretty darn old, and still pretty darn useful. Really, what it comes down to is to pick what DPS you want to play, and then get what that on-fielder wants. And it is there, with that DPS, that you do see the power creep the most. Newer weapons, newer cons, newer DPS, all stronger. Lots of DPS characters. Supports/off-fielders, meanwhile, are less common, but have a home in way more teams.

Those who are active enough in the online community to see such a comment from me will be bombarded by the hype for every new character. Backpulling will gate f2p or low spenders from accessing newer characters due to a perception that certain limited supports or DPS are required. And newer characters will need less investment to meet the current needs of the player. Backpulling can also lead to acquiring characters with upcoming upgrades/sidegrades. E.G. grabbing Kazuha on his last rerun with Xilonen coming out.

@@the_knut Depends on the character/role I think. As a new player who grabbed Kazuha, I can't say I care about Xilonen coming out. Grouping and swirling is THE thing I love him for, not his buffing. My only real regret is that I'm really short on DPS now, but Kinich doesn't vibe with me anyway so it can't be helped much aside from pulling the most powercrept archon in the game. Which I'd agree, DPS is where the powercreep seems to be real; and I'd rather just wait and see if Arlecchino comes along soon or something while saving my primos.

And with 5.0, the new support set is adding more powercreep on supports. My recommendation will always be to save/spend on new characters over old ones. Backpulling should only come from a very deliberate consideration.

The only team this would matter on is Itto but she has no synergy with him so, who cares. Or Clorinde who sustains herself because of Furina buffing her healing bonus, she may not cap out Fanfare but that doesn't matter since Xilonen wouldn't help with this in this team.

Xilonen's 36% shred and 40% elemental damage boost (with cinder city) more than makes up for the loss of Gorou's 15% geo boost, 40% crit damage and extra flat defense. ... And then you can just throw in Furina or Yelan to further boost damage, and maybe Raiden as a sub-dps and battery ...or just whatever you need for the elemental shields you'll face. I'm looking forward to using Itto more =3

i was originally going to pull xilonen for my alt account but i decided to get her on my main since im at soft pity but then i watch ur video and all her best in slot characters are on my alt so i guess im going back to my original plan 😅

I'd relook at Yae for Xilonen, since she has range so she doesn't care about grouping at all. Especially since you can pair her with Tighnari to share field time and perfect rotations (Haven't tested her with Kinich yet) so she's not tied to Nahida (even if they both like each other).
